👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm so stoked that they seem to have genuinely understood **WHY** Doom 2016 was so good. And then they've gone alright, let's do that again, just more and better. Doom 2016 and Eternal is such an unexpected and "has no right to be this good" revive of the name. Good video, I feel like you did a good job highlighting the why & what's of new mechanics and changes from 2016!
Doom is my bae, 100% all Dooms including 2016 and I'm psyched for this one. It looks hawt
I'm really liking that the gore is still really wham-bam-in-the-can and done where other contemporaries really feel the need to encrust filth & viscera everywhere to sledgehammer in the horror element.
Awesome to hear they've done well at increasing story and mobility and reduced reasons to run away in fights
I hope none of the guns feel too similar, but it looks like it'll be fine, I wish way more of ID worked on Rage 2
Raze a little Hell, raze a little Hell, raze a little hell!
Back to the reporting aspect of video games. Respect.
Looks awesome, amazing video as always! Your so underrated. What game are you going to do a play through on next? Or are you undecided? I will be waiting for it!! 👏🏻. I loved Life is strange 2 but episode 3 did drag a bit apart from that it was great!
Playthroughs are exclusively over on Twitch now (see Patreon vid for info), but expect videos on Pokemon DLC and Fallen Order. Patreons will help pick the direction of some videos, but on the whole it’ll be offering you a range content I wanted to make anyway.
Lomadiah thank you for the reply :) sounds great! Will be looking forward for fallen order 👏🏻
Is it just me or are the pickups that drop even prettier now. They're so shiny. xD
I found Doom 2016 very red and brown. They've redesigned the plasma rifle so it looks more like the classic Doom games and their are now medkit/health potion pick ups that have been designed to look like the originals. Some of the midi's from the classic Doom games have been remixed in this too.
I just got done playing the very first doom. I only played heretic before that.
1:07 TIL what DOOM was. SeemsGood
Are you going to do a play through of doom eternal?
Does the game have co-op for the campaign and what about replay value, does it exist in this game?
No, it doesn't have co-op - you're the Slayer, there's only one of you. Replay value: I've played the intro part about four times now and it's not getting old :)
This is a badass game, planning on buying it but which edition should I get Deluxe or Basic edition? The collectors is gone :(
DELUXE GIVES YOU THE TRUMPETS FOR REVENANTS!
Lomadiah But is it worth the money for trumpets for Revenants?
I don't see the video in the description like you said?
Fixed, cheers for pointing out! It didn't save and I was charity streaming (also hello, thank you for coming along to that!) so missed it. Have also pinned it in comments :)
@@Lomadiah Algood! :D
Is this even a question? if you dont know, let me tell you. 100% yes
What do you think of the sword??
No sword in capture session but I LIKE WHERE WE'RE GOING WITH THIS.
Seems cool
there's rumours that googles stadia are looking to get exclusive games its likely this game will be on there list and it will be like epic store again where you can only play it via another platform and Bethesda are a company that are likely to sign up to the devil without a 2nd thought.
There aren't any rumours, dude. The trailer shows the Stadia mark at the end, and it also says PC not Steam - no problems here. It's worth gently reminding you and others that Steam held a monopoly for a decade and is not necessarily 'better the devil you know'. The cuts they give developers have been talked about for years. Epic has been doing very good things with its money to help fund indie developers, has a referral system for content creators to earn money from the games they advertise, and in general doesn't lock up everything when it wants a patch.
This game looks awesome. My only real complaint from what I saw here was that there are a bit too many colors going on with the pick-ups. My poor, color-confused eyes can't handle those vibrant contrasts.
Yeah, it’s definitely a bright one - at times I was looking more at the entire screen than fixed points. There may be some level of colourblind mode etc in settings, but wouldn’t be able to confirm until I got the game myself.
It's the hud and colors are customizable.
is doom eternal set before the 2016 game?
since the robot dude from previous game looks like he's being made
nope it's set immediately after. basically while you were on mars, earth was also being attacked by demons and you need to clean up the mess.
Funnily I got here as your view count read: 666
* sip *
I think I prefer the simplicity of 2016 doom. Rip and tear
Currently replaying DOOM 2016 and they’re not that different in all honesty. It seems like a lot to be thinking about at first - and it was REALLY HARD to give you cut down explanations for some features - but most are a small tweak of existing features which you’ll absorb into your gameplay without thinking after an hour.
Parkour is a bit of a surprise, I’ll admit, but as an old low grav Pyro TF2 player it became oddly relaxing at times to just ping across the entire area.
It does gently ramp it up in the tutorial so you’re not overwhelmed, but obviously this was always a quick and dirty game style so looks completely insane to watch.
8:46 Ah, I thought Bethesda had been naughty there. But a quick pause to look at the medical bag and I see what they did.
Basically, the Red Cross don't like computer games - especially ultra-violent ones - using their red cross on a white background logo to mean "health pack". Because it is their logo and it could be taken as endorsement.
And iD was one of the ones who were originally tapped on the shoulder by the Red Cross to stop doing it, switching to a green cross - as often used by pharmacies - as that one's a proper universal symbol that no-one owns.
As the action in DOOM is always silky smooth and fast, I thought, for a split second, that I saw the red cross on the bag. Naughty, naughty. That's not allowed!
But then, pausing it, I see the cheeky - but technically okay - trick they've utilised. It's actually a white cross on a red background. The inverse of the Red Cross logo. But my brain, used to the other symbol, read it as a red cross on a white background until I looked closer.
Although clever, they should just stick with the green cross. It's not simply about getting away with it, just because you can. It's not just a legal thing, but a moral thing. The Red Cross don't want their logo abused. Don't just be clever, be wise. The green cross is universally understood - as nearly every pharmacy all around the world uses it - and you tread not on anyone's toes.
I don't want platforming or puzzling in DOOM. I want tight corridors, insane gore and the less useless cutscenes the better.
Doom looked ok when I was 10.
Now, it's just very dull.
But that's subjective.
Depends on what Doom you start with. I started with classic doom (Ultimate Doom on PSX) and it's been my favourite FPS since the late 90s. Doom 3 was not so good and is my least favourite game of the franchise.
