  • Terrestrials in their various forms are a very important addition to the fly-fishers box. The 'Foam Beetle' has been a very good fly for me on both river and stillwater/lake for many years and it's a fly that I wouldn't be without. I normally tie them on a Kamasan B160, B170 or B980 in sizes 12 to 20.
    Dressing:
    Hook: Size 12 - 20 Kamasan B160, B170 or B980
Back and Head: 4-5mm strip of 2mm Closed-celled Foam
Body: Peacock Ice Dub or Black Hend's Haretron
Legs: Fine or Micro Rubber legs
Post/Sighter: Poly yarn in various colours
My name is Geoff Johnston and I've been fishing my local rivers, in Cumbria, and further afield for nearly fifty years.
I hope that you enjoy my videos and thanks for watching.
