    After 2 years of training finally i started getting no spin from 10 meters but only 2-3 sometimes 4 times out of 10 times throwing. I think your video now gave me idea what was wrong. Thanks Joel.

      There’s a Stinger review video on my channel. They are ok competition knives. However, it’s not so much about the car, it’s the about the driver and his ability to know what he is doing.
      This is a 3-year old vid and my throwing techniques have changed quite a bit. As I see it there are two ways to throw, the wave style and the normal style.
      Wave style is worse for competition because it’s more explosive. Normal style, presented in this vid, provides slower throws and causes shoulder problems more likely but it is very deadly on competitions.

    Thank you for your answer 😉

    • @joelholopainen6865
      @joelholopainen6865  2 роки тому +3

      For the index push release method presented on the vid I recommend grabbing the knife ALWAYS from the bottom or as low as you feel comfortable. If you don’t like to push with your index, there are other release methods too which can be better for you for example sliding with index or index doing nothing at all(!) which is the methdod I use now. Contact me in messenger if you want to know about it.

      @@vernonodell5286 try different kind of release. Forget pushing with index. Instead of pushing with index just keep the grip firm enough and let the knife slide out byitself. I talk about this approach more on my newer video ”how to throw a knife (the punching method)”

    • @joelholopainen6865
      @joelholopainen6865  3 місяці тому +1

      In this video there were only no spins.
      No spin is the king. It requires deeper undestanding than half spins. Half spins are easier. A little more powerful throws can be attained with half spins.

    • @joelholopainen6865
      @joelholopainen6865  3 роки тому +2

      The exercise of gradually taking steps back from the target presented at the end of the video is very effective for novice throwers. The con of this video is that it doesn’t mention the method of sliding the knife with index finger. I only talk about pushing with the index finger.

    Hello Professor. Recently due to physical ailments my index finger has become VERY swollen and stiff. I can no longer control release or flight pattern of the knife as it leaves my hand because my finger won’t manage the micro movements necessary for no spin. I used to throw no spin exclusively. Now I’m roto and really miss no spin. Do you have any ideas of how I might correct this?

      @joelholopainen6865  3 роки тому

      No, there is no point for that because the wrist should be kept fairly tight - or you can keep it completely tight as well but then the wrist won’t act as a power source.
