Thanks for sharing the tip about when you arrive in Avalon, map yourself to Hermit Gulch Campground. I was a bit concerned about that because I’ve seen several people get lost when they arrive. And the tip about arriving really early for the ferry. I think they’re changing it now where you can use a QR code on your phone, but it’s best to be safe, just in case. I also heard someone say that they weren’t able to take their stove fuel onto the ferry, and had to buy it in Avalon, so that’s something I didn’t know, so thought I would share. My son and I are backpacking this trail at the end of February 2024, so we can’t wait. Thank you for sharing your journey! 😄
You're welcome! It was definitely a bit confusing getting to the start of the trail. I got a QR code with my ferry ticket but they wouldn't accept it! And yeah you're not supposed to take fuel on the ferry though they don't check your bags. There's an outdoor store near where you get off the ferry in Avalon so that's where I got my fuel. Easy peasy. Enjoy this trail - it's so unique and cool!

everyday on the trail will you be able to purchase food? OR JUST ON CERTAIN PARTS
That really depends on your pace. You can get food in Avalon and Two Harbors.
