@@7EiamJ7 Well first of all siting an Influenza report while there is loads of reports specifically about Covid which say masks do work is kinda weird already but let's say we just treat it as another Covid report. Covid and the Flu are not the same. Covid is more contagious and spreads from a different virus which are two variables not used in that report because it is only about Influenza. That could effect things. And if Covid is easier to spread it would not make masks less effective if the basis for Influenza is to not wear them in the first place. It's probably redundant to wear a mask with the flu but because of Covid being different it makes sense.

Now I know this is not humans and covid but the problem is that not everyone has a fitted sealed and fresh mask on. To my knowledge that is the issue with telling people masks work, they come to believe it will work regardless of what the mask is made of, how clean it is and how well fitted it is, plus the false sense of security can lead to a more lax attitude for other simple measures like washing hands and staying a distance from others.
@@noname-mw7oy unless the droplets for covid and flu are different does it matter what the report is on?
Covid has become very politicised so arguably a pre pandemic report on mask effectiveness may carry more weight.
@@7EiamJ7 I'm not sure on the specific differences of the droplets but there is obviously some differences because there is a pretty sound conclusion that masks do help to prevent the transmission of Covid and this one study about the Flu saying otherwise doesn't change that when the mast majority say masks are useful for Covid.
@@noname-mw7oy have you got a link to the study?

Now I know this is not humans and covid but the problem is that not everyone has a fitted sealed and fresh mask on. To my knowledge that is the issue with telling people masks work, they come to believe it will work regardless of what the mask is made of, how clean it is and how well fitted it is, plus the false sense of security can lead to a more lax attitude for other simple measures like washing hands and staying a distance from others. We see this with some of the BLM people and Marxist ideology. And financially, the left has always tended to drift into unreality, where the systems they propose don't usually work.
The truth is that ideology is the start of losing grip on reality. The further you follow ideology rather than facts/evidence/results, the further you drift into unreality. This can happen on either side, and at times in history, one side tends to be more out of touch than another. We see that in many cases, the left, in general, is now drifting too far into ideology.

Why don't these debates happen more often these days??
For real!
Because right wing echo chambers ignore the almost constant debate offers from the likes of Sam Seder, Kyle Kulinski, and David Packman and it takes mediators like this show to force both sides into long form debates to get any real conversation happening
Dan Tasty we could list people on both sides who don’t want to debate, but there are plenty of right wingers who try to debate people from the TYT or other prominent Democrats and they turn around and lie about it and say things like “I’m not going to give a platforms to hate” let’s be real people like Ben Shapiro and crowded are willing to debate and crowder in particular was very willing to debate kulinski but Kyle didn’t want to
FREQVENCY Crowder notoriously wouldn’t debate sam seder, and bailed on his debate with Kyle at politicon. Shapiro only goes on programs where he knows he’ll be in control or unchallenged i.e. dave rubin, fox, eric weinstein, prager u, and most recently joe rogan. There are definitely democrats that want to censor the right because they don’t know how to combat their arguments without talking like leftists (who they hate more). proper left wingers only have a problem with people like Rubin who let blatant lies and disgusting rhetoric slip through unchallenged, all while perpetuating the fiction that people in the IDW and figures like Molyneux are ‘the new center’
Dan Tasty I think maybe Kyle and Crowder both don’t like each other to the point where neither of them will debate, I’ve seen Kyle denounce some of crowders jokes as hateful but anyways I think we both agree that more debates like these need to happen, I’m in the conservative camp and I am more than willing to listen to a real liberal debate a conservative but I don’t think there is enough real liberals that make waves and headlines, they are frowned upon because the far left is so savage and tribal they will attack their own. @@ShimmyMD I understand the reason why he would push back on the masks, but my point is that he did not treat Hasan in the same manner. He forced Michael to give a personal answer about masks, which other commenters then used to discredit him for giving anecdotal answers. I only offer this perspective because you seemed to disagree with OP when she said that the host's left-leaning bias caused the discussion to become unfavorable towards Michael by not giving him the same amount of time to make his rebuttals. I happened to agree with that assessment. Although I will say that Elex is a bit more polite than the jerks of MSM. But if we only compare moderators to the worst of them then we are setting a very low bar. I would have just liked to see a more balanced debate. Although I'm still very glad these discussions are being had anyway.

Oh, how correct he was.
Michael knowles: you’re more honest about your beliefs than most lefties
Hasan: you’re studio is nice.

It's typical left-tard behaviour. I think Michael deserves a medal for not laughing out loud at some of the idiotic things Hasan said. I was laughing to be sure.

Maybe we should start with the conservative churches and bring scientists in to tell them how Creationism is wrong and Evolution is true and how they believe in fairy tales. And we should go the south and tell them they are uneducated idiots who don't understand human sexuality for example and provide Scienctific research they hate. Because screw all safe spaces right? Lol it's so hilarious to talk to right wingers about safe spaces when you guys have so many that no one bothers. I'm starting to believe that the only safe spaces you guys hate are the ones that lean left.
7:30 "certain circumstances where you're home alone and what-not" like at a baseball game with your friends? How in the hell is that similar to being at home? Also, how many videos have you seen of these "white-house journalists" who take their masks off immediately when the cameras stop rolling? The ones pushing so hard for masks are not wearing them when it matters. Laughable.
Ok and what does that matter about the science that masks help stop the spread? They are hypocritical and that is bad but that doesn't dismiss the science.
@Kids Bop 38 is Straight FIRE!! He could be in a social bubble with his friends. That’s what I do. Also it’s true that, even if he sucks and isn’t doing what he should, that doesn’t make it ok for us to dismiss the science behind wearing masks.
@@sirsaltines4667 well, it matters somewhat because the people pushing the mask mandate, like Dr Fauci, are being caught not wearing masks in public. And since we rely on people like that to research and disseminate information, their actions give us an idea of the severity of their words. So if Fauci is out not wearing a mask, or if these reporters (who are talking firsthand to the doctors about the status of the virus) are not wearing masks, then that tells me that they are not that worried about the virus, which means I shouldn't be either.
@@repleeca I never said that it dismisses the science...Fauci did back in March when he said masks weren't advisable. And other doctors dismissed "the science" when they said that the efficacy of masks hasn't been proven or disproven. Sweden's minister of health also dismissed "the science".
@@kidzbop38isstraightfire92 You are incorrect he didn't dismiss the science he just said he saw no point as there numbers were low. Do you know what happened because they had such lax laws on covid? There numbers have now spiked and they recently reversed their stance on masks. The efficacy of masks has been 100% proven lol wtf are you talking about, there are plenty of studies now showing they are effective. You also realize Fauci changed his stance on masks? Uhh, yeah... all of Hasan’s points are crap and Trump was right all along. 🤷🏼♂️

@@christopherkey2272 facts
really, i'm still waiting on covid to go away in april with the heat. i guess we should have asked trump for clarification as to the year
@@christopherkey2272 yeah it’s the fault of the unvaxxed. Even though you look at Africa and Utar Pradesh, very low vax rates, very high HCQ consumption. Everywhere that has high vax rates has high case rates for the most part, like Israel. Why is that?
@@cappylover192 We know now that the vax lowers the efficacy of the natural immune system for, at least, 2 weeks. That's one reason why so many people still got COVID. The vax efficacy is probably more like 25 to 35%, not 95% like they claimed.
And the right says that leftists are snowflakes😂😂
You gotta understand that everyone gets offended, that's human nature. It's what you do in response that matters. Since the mainstream right has taken the clearly stronger position on free speech, they may not like something but they will never ask for It's removal, for eg from college campuses which the left is famous for doing.
Furthermore the left has gotten more snowflake like as they have gotten younger through the decades, while the right has gotten less snowflake mainly because of religion not being as dogmatic as intersectionality. Victim worship on left is more sacred than God worship on right.
Yall cry about safe spaces then need turing point u asa (safe space) to pay college's to let republicans argue with kids insted of real pundits
@@danstan7274 what?? No one stops leftists to come into these so called conservative speakers' halls. Anyone can come. The fact that people riot in Berkeley even if the speaker is a centrists speaks volumes. Jon haidt talked about these people in the coddling of American mind.
