We are now in 2013 and I can only assume that The Undertaker will be coming back for Wrestlemania which would put him at 48 years old. Cutting it kind of close dont you think? Does anybody else see the irony when 10 years ago Taker seemed to express disdain for Hogan's continued presence in wrestling, saying "he has his own agenda" and that he wouldn't have the need when he was that age and yet Taker was just a headliner at Wrestlemania and has rarely done a job the last 10 years?
And I'm not defending Hogan or attacking Taker, rather I'm just pointing out how different guys feel about "holding onto their spot" when they become the old guy. It's human nature.

Another reason to respect the man. He's honest, he's no b.s. and he's a professional. While I'm a martial artist, what I have always found interesting is that WWE still has the most fans despite being scripted. No one cares, they want to see how it all plays out. Boxing, MMA or the like have their place but for sheer entertainment, Pro Wrestling fans are the most supportive of their industry, I've ever seen.

When all is said and done, it's all about the money. Everything boils down to the money. Whether you're Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Sting, Goldberg or Undertaker, as long as your name still has value, you will be back in the ring regardless of how past your prime you are. I don't know why I ever thought that Undertaker would be any different than the aforementioned. Wrestling is just what it is.

I feel bad for the fact that Mick Foley had gotten it into his own head (by fault of no one else, including Vince McMahon) that the fans didn't get their money's worth unless he went out there and did what he felt people expected from him. He NEVER had to have a match like that again after HiaC. Same thing after the I Quit match, but he's done it over and over. I know in a sick way he kind of likes it, but it's still sad that he purposefully did this to himself because he wanted to make us happy

The interviewer talks about the original Dead Man Undertaker gimmick and Taker says it'll be his legacy and "you never know what may happen in my life that would bring it back" and he'll do it "at lest one more time".
This interview was in 2002...I wonder if Taker had already planned to go back to the origins and bring the Dead Man back from his grave...we know he came back as that in WM 20 in April 2004, but the promos had began a couple of months before. Taker was buried alive by Kane I think in November 2003 and in January the promos of the return of the Dead Man began.
I guess the idea was already in Taker's mind when he shot this interview...I don't know how far ahead the storylines are planned, but it seems plausible.

I do agree with you, but I do understand that those happen to where producers are shouting instructions into his ear to move on to the next question so he can ask all the questions they wanted the most answered. Mark probably would continue for a long while if given but the reason he's not being an ass to the host is because he is appreciative that schedule is in place. Its Wrestlemania weekend too, lots of places to be with little time to do it in being a big superstar with a huge fan base.

I don't know why my comment received so many negative votes (not that it matters lol) I legit like the The Undertaker. I was just making a joke about how he says "you know" a lot. Not that big of a deal to me and it shouldn't be a big deal to anyone actually. Interviews can be a little hard. It's basically a reaction of sorts. Most people same "um" or "uh" and Mark says "you know". It's just a reaction to when you're thinking of something to say when you can't get the words out in time.

haha yeah i was wondering that too. thanks for confirming. i guess the difference is that the undertaker is in better shape than hogan was then. But he doesn't perform like he did in his prime, despite how they try and hide it. he's lucky in a way, that the original dead man character was so slow. he can still piledrive people into his 60's

@MrJOJOJJJJ, it was said that Shawn didn't want to drop the belt to Austin at WM14. Taker told Shawn to do the right thing or else that was Shawn's ass.

I agree with you, but Hogan didn't need to help anyone cause people will always pay to see him.

Theres only so much time, so this guy has to get as much different topics he can. Mark kicking Shawns ass would of been something, you can just tell he was definitely pissed back then and at the moment
