Step back in time with us to Kevin's chat with the immensely talented Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck), currently starring in his critically-acclaimed HBO series, "Barry".
I have some friends who are allergic to nuts but not peanuts and some allergic to peanuts but not nuts, and some allergic to both types so I was a little bit surprised he called peanuts nuts since with such a dangerous allergy it is important to specify. Of course, the one giving him the bar should have asked if peanut butter would work.
I’m so obsessed wit Bill Hader!! He gives me life when the real world kinda gets me down!! What a talented guy and this was before the best show everBARRY!!
I love the Playboy Mansion/Michael Bay Story! No lie, I had to Google that guy's name to see the morning-afterbirth he is responsible for churning out, and thought, "Nice take down, Bill Hader. I'm surprised he caught on."
i swear i saw this dude walking around mill street in 98 or 99 in phoenix .. i just remember him wearing a tshirt and i told my friend look at that dude he looks 40 and 20 at the same time
I remember this vid, but I'll comment anyway dammit lol. That's too bad about the Casey Kasem skit, because that was some funny sh*t. Anyone who lived through, at the very least, the 80's would get that. John Mulaney is a very smart comedy writer. Bill is too, Barry is one of my favorite new shows. But a Mulaney/Hader combo *kills*. I'm a movie nerd though, so I get a lot of those impressions and jokes. Bill, in another life, could've been a radio DJ, he has that great voice range. Anyway, thanks for the upload!
The Kasem family sketch would have been globally viral on youtube, the talent between him and Dana Carvey would put that sketch in highlight reels for years, and it could have been explained to a younger audience, just my opinion
Kevin is a fucking amazing interviewer…he lets his guests talk and open up opportunities for this type of brilliance…always felt that but let’s not deny the fact that Bill Hader may just be the prefect combination of hilarious, loveable and down to earth….fucking alien interloper if you ask me
Kyle Mulli It's hit & miss, with the UA-cam notifications, these days. I used to think it was some kind social engineering on UA-cam's part.... devious.... but it's not. It's much more random, and indiscriminate. Doesn't matter what channels, or content you favor, It's happening to everybody! If it is by design, it's pretty elite, because I don't get it xD. Try unsubscribing, then subscribe again & click the bell.
Man you can tell Bill cant stand Sam..... He is totally that kid from school who was desperate to be funny and fit it but even though you felt bad for them you just couldn't be friends with them.
I don't necessarily feel this way, but I can understand someone not finding Samm Levine especially likeable. However, if you're going JUST from this video, I feel like "can't stand" is a bit of a stretch. There's a difference between someone being kinda indifferent/not overly impressed with another person, to then someone like actively disliking and being very annoyed with that other person.
That must of been so friggin annoying to be low-key forced to read a monologue written by someone else for your character that you dont do anymore lolol lame
This was pretty cringe to watch Bill trying to be a good sport while Pollak and his sidekicks giggle like they just wrote great material (it wasnt). I would think Pollak and other writers would know better than to pull this hack shit. As a comedian, he must know better?
Bill used some of it on SNL later on. They changed the joke and made it much better, but the name of the club is still "Goosh!" Stefon on St. Patrick's Day is the specific segment he used it in.
I was kind of surprised to hear Bill seemingly include Peter Falk among the "hacky" sort of impressions that everyone tries. I've not heard over the years too many different comics do him, or AT LEAST not as much as what real hacky ones are like Walken and Shatner. but my favorite 2 impressions that Kevin does by far have always been Albert Brooks and Alan Arkin.
Bill always had a different style of comedy and a different fanbase (with some overlap, of course) than Sandler and Carrey, so his acceptance into drama isn't that surprising.
The fact that someone like Bill didn’t get into Ivy League should inspire so many slightly geeky, unearthed comedic talents to believe that it doesn’t matter….Go for it…believe in yourself…you might not reach what you want but it will be so much more rewarding than the dirge you could have to endure
Adam Sandler was beautiful in "Punch Drunk Love" and whatever that remote control bed, bath, and beyond was called. Jim Carey & Robin Williams also successfully did great dramas. If dramatic actors like Malkovitch can kill on SNL, why can't Hader & Wiig kill in a drama? Some talents are bigger than fans allow them to be. Eff that.
Yeah, there's a lot of dramatic actors who are great at comedy...John Lithgow, Alec Baldwin, Paget Brewster, Andre Braugher.. a lot has to do with casting too.
@@rileyk99 I’m best friends with one of the football jellyfish so we were on the list, and it was a little bit of hike to get there, but TOTALLY worth it. It was EVERYTHING. We had the time of our lives including a surprise special guest 4x4 DJ set at 5am of Tina Louise vs Björk. I was SO glad I wore my stacks that night. Turns out Björk’s a lot taller in person. God I love Icelandic street fashion. 🤩
It is interesting that Bill always says the joke is that stefan is bad at his job. What I always laugh about are the crazy descriptions of the trendy crazy party places stefan describes.
Green and White Excellent observation. In every profession there is one person in every office, warehouse, job site that either steals another’s ideas, work, or pawns part of their obligations on to someone else. They’re a special breed.
Damn this was a good time 😂 I’m bummed it’s owner, wish it were 2 more hrs. Hader’s gotta be one of the coolest dudes in showbiz; when not working, he always seems like a such genuine, chill, thoughtful, relatable, hilarious, good-hearted cat. I bet he and John C. Riley would be such a blast to hang out with. Truly non ego-centric, insanely funny/fun, nice, intelligent, solid-vibed guys. Especially for bein so talented & while right in the middle of the ridiculously shallow, vapid, self-importance capital of the world. Refreshing to see it doesn't turn everyone into a superdouche
UPostOnTheDonald It’s sad, such a great actor. This is the problem with television verses film. Movie actors stand the test of time. They are much easier to remember and access to films is much easier.
Ligeiaz Tomb I was listening to an interview with Mel Brooks and he was talking about CID Ceaser who was making $5,000 a week on his variety show. Mel was a writer on the show and was offered films in Hollywood. So he talked Cid into leaving NY but when the time approached Mel couldn’t reach Cid because they offered Cid $25,000 a week, highest paid tv comedian/actor. Anyway Mel Brooks everybody knows, Cid Ceaser ? Never heard of him.
@@robertblake1032 In the 1960's, Your Show of Shows was a very big deal. I recall once, as a small child, sneaking out of my bedroom and catching a brief scene with Imogene Coca and Sid Ceaser. I recall every moment of the scene, and it, to this date, is among the funniest things I ever saw. Then I was sent back to bed.
I love Bill Hader a lot, but not enough to pretend a peanut is a type of nut. A pineapple isn't a type of apple. If you said you had an allergy to apples, and someone gave you a pineapple, you wouldn't bitch about it for a decade.
Many people think this way, unfortunately. It's dangerous to be pedantic when you're dealing with someone with an allergy like this, because many people with a nut allergy are also allergic to peanuts, almonds or pine nuts and vice versa. There's not much time for semantics if you quite literally endanger someone's life if you're not careful.
He’s a go to if you’re looking for something to watch and listen to. He’s always enjoyable, hearing him talk. He’s so talented and seems so humble and a super nice guy
I could listen to Bill Hader talk literally all day
I actually do lol
SAME. 🤣👍🏼💗
Lol, you guys are awesome 😂👏 😎
Minutes ... Hours ... Days well spent 😍😍😄😄😂😂❤❤❤
Bill Hader's laugh is the most wholesome thing I've heard in my life - it's really been helping me get through lockdowns. I just adore him.
Bill Hader is such a genius, and the best interview subject I've ever seen. 5 gold stars, Bill!
This dude is the coolest shape shifting entity I’ve seen in person.
You know who he’s imitating without him saying a word.
Bill Hader makes you feel included in his stories
I'd pay good money just to hear Bill Hader laugh.
It's amazing the way Bill can just do little snippets of impressions as he talks. The Aykroyd and Martin Short impressions are ridiculous!
One of the best interviews of this Bill Hader binge - finally some original questions & research! ty! 🥳🎉
Kevin, please come back - this is by far the best interview show on the internet.
His laugh is so infectious. Love it.
I will give my eggs to meet bill hader
I felt so embarrassed when they brought out the Stefon script
I literally had to skip it it was so embarrassing
That legume guy is radiating such a strong r/iamverysmart energy

That’s little wolverine.
"So TECHNICALLY speaking, he was right to endanger your life and send you to hospital"
"just because youre accurate doesnt mean youre interesting."
ugh he’s annoying lol
Kevin Pollak I'd love to see another interview with Bill Hader talking about Barry! I love Kevin as an interviewer. Great stuff!

My fav interview by favorite interview on the list. Thanks Pollack and thank you Bill Hader
Too bad 'Samm' was never replaced, he was always so in love with himself. :/

The story about John Mulaney and the Vincent Price sketch is so funny and charming, I love it.

Wow. Incredible Seth Rogen imitation. Gotta love it.
I never get notifications for this channel and I love this channel. Only this channel.!!!..WHY UA-cam WHY
Just in case you don't hang around UA-cam much... have you clicked the bell next to the "Subscribed 61K"?

Hi Guys, great show. I watch you on my phone through UA-cam.
Keep Rocking the Funny 😂
It's astonishing to think that Bill never did impressions before SNL. He's scary good at it.
Damn, i should probably see Skeleton Twins, that's a sign!
Roman Sidenko one of my favorites. definitely watch it!!

Wish the other 2 hadn't chimed in. Otherwise great discussion.
From back in the good old days when Kevin did these things on video and had guests you recognized.
Kevin's chat with the immensely talented Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck), currently starring in his critically-acclaimed HB
It's worth watching for the Kasem sketch.
fartface is one of my all time favorite sketches. i am shocked it didn't play that night.
Rickles was the king of one liners.. all 3 of u guys together would be hilarious.. mulaney is a genius..
The Bill finishes his Larry King impression and starts wringing the arm of his chair. such an awe shucks moment! so great! 2:09:35
Lost in America (1985) :)
the desperation in the two offhand assistants reminds me of the actors on Barry

can't wait for season 4!!

im working on a major motion picture called "Protect the group with metal (and possibly some chemicals)"
It's just me or bill hader is talking with a lower tone than usual? I mean I'm not complaining.
This Podcast could challenge Joe Rogan some day imo. A bit longer would be nice.
Peanuts. Is it too hard to understand.
