- Compliation of photos and images of Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and the Fallen Angel Band set to Hickory Wind from the Gram Parsons complete Reprise sessions. Enjoy!
I agree, Gram Parsons should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame, fabulous artist/Emmy Lou Harris
@Edith You mean he ISN’T?…
@@jeffkaufman9875 Regrettably no. Their loss.
@Margaret THEIR loss, indeed!…
it dont matter hall of fame is just a bunch of political BS. it only exists so certain people can make money.
She loved him dearly.
When two perfect voices get together…it doesn’t get any more beautiful
Life is short, Gram's was even shorter, but he lived the life of "Gram Parsons" I do not dwell on what Gram did not accomplish but on what he gave us, in his case that was all he had to give. Thanks Gram.
Thanks for that. It's so very true.
I agree. I think this whole obsession with the 27 Club is sick, morbid, and useless. Concentrate on the fact that we were blessed with their talent to begin with. On the other hand, you can quote Roger Waters: "They flutter behind you your possible pasts / some bright-eyed and crazy / some frightened and lost / a warning to anyone still in command / of their possible future to take care."
Awesome statement and applys to so many of the time and still does
He was magnificent.
only angels can sing like this and only the good die young Iknow my daughter sang like an angel and we sung luxury liner on stage shes an angel now i miss all the angels of this world
These two were beautiful together... Emmy Lou was torn when Gram died...RIP Gram, Love You Em. ☮️💜
Greetings from Dublin Ireland 🇺🇦 🇮🇪 we have a lot of time here for one Gram Parsons 😀 👍 his influence is so global as a singer-songwriter
Sure Emmylou still to this day carried the flag right here 2years ago when she sang Boulder to Birmingham
She had us by the balls....
Hickory wind always give me hope ...
Thanks Kerry
What life dealt him is a hard one. His spirit is loved always.
RIP Gram Parsons and all those other "kids" who died too young!
One of the best country ballads of all time. Gram should be in the Country Music and Rock and Roll Hall Of Fames
listen to green green grass of home then the bee gees ???? the fbbs hall of fame
@@garymiles3616 Grams version always makes me cry. No other version does
@@sandyjohnson3030listen to AJ Lee version. 😉
It is a welcome relief to still hear Gram's voice on the net. Such a love!
Rest in peace Gram Parsons, bsautiful music man you are loved and missed forevet in my heart and in the hearts of many. 💖💖
Wish Gram was still here, I miss him and his music so much.
gram + emmylou = perfection
He deserves induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He influenced so many artists that heard his songs and took them to their own level. Just a few, Poco, Firefall, Eagles, Emmylou Harris and any combination of the Flying Burrito Brothers.
Mark Symms Can’t understand why he is not inducted into CM Hall of fame. The inventor of Cosmic Music.Love listening to this man.He impressed E L Harris no end. What better recommendation could you have.
@@Melvin418 the powers that be in nashville at that time hated gram. Gram hated them too
@@lastnamefirst4035 but why?
@@sandyjohnson3030 Because the reps at the record companies wanted Gram to record main stream country and Gram refused. Gram walked out on a few of them telling them (according to Gram) to fk off. If Gram hadn't stuck to what he wanted we would never have heard his music. He would have been limited to country covers and none of his own music

Wow, time stood still. Modern country lost the country. Now youtube brings it back with these two!
Hard to believe we are coming up on 50 years since Gram took himself out of this life ...Loved for years his voice ..with FBB or Byrds & especially perhaps with EmmyLou ....This music cannot ever get too old ...for me :(
Back home... or wanting to go back home music. The sweetness of his voice speaks volumes of his emotional vulnerability... and makes the song even more beautiful...
21 people with NO soul ; How can you not like this song ! the Words have impact to the Heart ! the harmony's and Guitar Tonic to the Ears
Nobody can come close these days . Just heart felt country
When the Byrds did this on the Opry stage, it was a little piece of history that changed the Opry and music forever.
I cried when i headd tbis song hickory wind,so beautiful, straight from.the heart .The world lost a beautiful gifted soul.💖💖
Gram would have been 70 today.R.I.P Gram, too beautiful for words
Just think how good music could have been if he was still alive.
Hicory wind would be a special scent evoking, memories of home. Sleep sweetly, gram.we miss you.
I Love this tune🤎
God Bless Gram Parsons
We have lost this beauty in modern country.
Wise and true.
it has gone far away from its folk roots.
heart felt xx
well said syd
I completely agree , and love your user name . I'm a big fa of Syd too
I know what you mean - this song just hits you where you live. Such a shame that Gram spent so little time with us.
Gram will outlive the planet.
How I miss his voice! No one ever sounded like Gram and no one ever will. Love this song.
He and Emmylou ? Priceless!
I cry with joy for the music and I cry with sorrow for his passing
I don't think duets get any better than this.
now 31 i d i o t s
I don't believe this actually counts as a duet since they aren't trading verses. Emmylou is just singing harmonies.
You are so right.Wonderful harmony.Check out ‘sin city ‘if you’re looking for more harmony.
Gram is the Man
Makes me cry for all that could have been, but wasn't.☮️
I find it hard to listen to Gram anymore. He was my hero in the 1970s. Now gone so long.
@@squeakeththewheel Emmylou once said not to feel sad about Gram but to be glad for all he brought. Hard to do, I know, but when I hear his music it's like he's still here. He'll live longer than I will.
Hickory Wind and Love Hurts are my two favorites. It gets to the core of my existence! Thank you Gram and Emily lou.
That pedal steel guitar gets me, EVERY time, what a beautiful song, stunning
A MASTERPIECE FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST MUSICIANS EVER!
R.I.P. GRAM
the most broken voice of all broken voices
There were MANY times when as a morose teenager i would listen to Gram & EmmyLou...especially the GP & Grievous Angels LP's...and catharctically they made me feel better ..because i would cry through the whole album....and for that i am grateful...forever
wow, wish he lived longer.... feelin' it!
R.I.P. Gram. Some of the very best of Americana ever.
This is the first song I ever heard Emmylou sing - the duet allegedly recorded in Canada. Got smitten then and still am with both of them. Unbelievably beautiful.
Really? In Canada? Very cool!
@@OhtobeinIreland Well, it was actually recorded in LA. It was part of a medley called Live From Northern Quebec; a pretend concert with bar noises contributed by Gram's friends. Just something from Gram's creative mind.
He had my heart then and now
there are nine very tone deaf people who visited this site, amazing one of the all time classics penned by Gram parsons have loved this song for 40 years and love playing it, how could anyone dislike such outstanding talent?
one of their best
they're just trolls.
Wow! I love to hear Gram's singing! He had such an amazing voice! He and Emmylou were so compatible, performing together! A perfect duo! Thanks for sharing this! Peace and joy, Charles
Happy 70th birthday, Gram.
A deep breath of fresh air
one of Grams best
Who’s singing can truly bring a tear to your eye. And I’m so glad that Keith Richards became close friends with him, enriching his life as a musician and a man
The 1968 studio version is the well-produced version -- but this version is the one that brings a tear to the eye of any human.
Another one of Grams songs so beautiful it hurts to listen to
This is so beautiful, it makes me wanna cry in the best way possible.
Great voice that suits all songs he sings. Lovely blend with Emmylou Harris
Who in there right mind don't love Gram Parsons????
Beautiful song, an all time favorite. The best GP and Emmylou ever did together, IMHO. GP is still missed, and thought of often. I want everyone to remember him today, on his birthday, and all the music that followed that was influenced by him.
Another's words sum up his legacy -
"People are influenced by him without even knowing it. He's an innovator...the influence is felt over the years and decades to come. That's why he's still around, because he's an original."
Pretty much - but Love Hurts will pull you in too.
Great Gram!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Emmylou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God, 42 years without Gram !!!
I'm 46, missed the whole thing. But I listen to several Gram songs everyday. THE BEST! Love Dwight Yoakam singing his songs, he should do a tribute album!
Yes , so it is .Gram and Emmylou
have been too wonderful !
Hannelore Antes Germany
Not enough time for this great talent to many stories like this.
This version of Hickory Wind is the best rendition Gram ever recorded, especially with Emmylou's voice blending with his. Great work on the slides show as well. Thx for posting !
Thanks for the compliment!
still miss him.
Gram + Emmylou... God bless you!
Holy guacamole. I love these two voices together, and I'm grateful that Emmylou has been with us all this time. Gram: what were you thinking ? You left us too early and you could have done so much more. Such is the human condition. Emmylou: you are the voice of America and country music. Thank you.
The beauty of his voice makes me cry 😭 ✌🏼💥🎸🎶👠
they sure were a great duet/duo great harmonies beautifully sang
My all time #1 song. We drive to Charleston from ohio every summer. I play this every time we see the "welcome to south Carolina " sign. I ♥ Emmylou. Shine on gram.
RIP Gram, damn you, you should have stayed with us.
Dear Country Music, this is how you do it!
+oldbiff
I couldn't have said it better. Not in a million years would you hear this cut on a country western radio station. I don't think the DJ's even know Gram exists.
@@eightinches6094 Not enough flag waving and hippie bashing.
Dear dadzbluz or whoever you are, I do agree to what you said, it 's a shame that Gram died so young. Hickory wind is my favourite song. I'm 72 now but but i'll never loose that feeling hearing this song, every time tears come because it's so beautiful. greetings from the old country Holland Thijs
Left-handed compliment. She IS great. But Gram is great in many other situations.
I love to hear Gram
🎶Happy Birthday Gram🎶🤩
⭐🤠
What beautiful gifted souls to sing music like this .I love Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. 💖💖
Awesome!
One of my top ten all-time favorite songs. It's a hard way to find out that trouble is real, in a far-away city, with a faraway feel. But it makes me feel better, each time it begins. Calling me home, hickory wind.
Thanks, Gram.
Happy Birthday Gram
Straight from the heart.
awesome
Beautifully made video!!
Thank you so very much! Appreciated. Thank you for watching!
Love this song by Gram Parsons
