- In July 2009 a Benefit Gig at the legendary 100 Club was organised to help Terry Rawlings family after he was diagnosed with Cancer
This video features the "supergroup" who played on Terry's behalf
Thanks to our friends at Izon Music
Being a bit of a loner, "Alone I keep the wolves at bay" is a line that has always resonated with me.
Love the fact that - even though something is horribly out of tune and the drummer seems not to know the song - Mick still always looks like he's happy to be playing in front of people ..,
I don't care for perfection,Mick is cool
Mick always seems so happy and joyful, that’s one of the great things about him :)
The drummer is Buddy Ascott (The Chords, The Rage, The Way-Out......)
Love Mick Jones, Steve Diggle looks just the same. Great to see this. Thank you
wow, cool. the 3 guys in front were in 3 of my fave bands. legends.
The band is all over the place and yet these guys make it work.
Fantastic, remember 'finding' this track and was blown away! and nice to see Mr Diggle left his ego at the door (-ish)
I will take and enjoy this imperfection from these genuine old guys over any pretty young thing using autotune!
Sheer joy! Thanks for putting this up man, wonderful to see for us old punks.
Fantastic!!!! Two legends on the stage together....of course Glen is in great shape.....Mick not too much!
Love it , brings back good memory's even still got T shirt
The clash
The Pistols
The Buzzcocks
The base of punk!!
that would have been a hell of a group back in the day
Excellent ‼️😎🔥🎸
Fantastic!
Always one of my fave Clash songs.
Totally raw
Supergroup !
Glenn the perfect person to be in the background
I would die to see this.
mick jones was as big in the clash songs as joe . dont diss him.
Steve Diggle, is there a happier musician to play live? Always plays with a smile on his face. Did they grab the drummer from the audience?
The drummer is Brett "Buddy" Ascott of the Chords/
That's Brett 'Buddy' Ascot on drums. He used to be in The Chords.
All in good fun. 🎸💕
Can you tell me why this performance whilst out of tune is still 100% more enjoyable than most perfect(Boak)pop/rock songs now!!!!
Old punks rule!
STEVE DIGGLE NEW SINGLE - ' GOTTA GET BETTER ' DOWNLOAD NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Legends
Mick has looked like he's 80 for the last decade.
yep but he was in the clash and you were not.
@@markkennerdale3373 THAT'S RIGHT YOU TELL DEM....WRONG EM,BOYO @@@
Bloody hell, that drummer is certainly no Topper Headon.
It's a bit sluggish isn't it.
You mean he doesn't have syringes sticking out of every limb?
Yeah, he probably tuned those guitars as well. You numpty Rob Matheson
@keechmabreeks You mean that bloke who played The Roxy & The Vortex?
LOVE IT!
Supergroup
orange glow?...they are lights, my friend.
Trois Legends! dx
ah ha, the media was right....the UK needs more dentists
Steve Diggle on stage and NOT SPITTIN EVERYWHERE, , whats going on,
Did Helen Keller tune the guitars?
AJB in the front row.
Unfortunately, Matlock was not able to carry the complex bass-line that makes this song so special.
Was Simonon that special ?
No, maybe this was another one where Norman out of The Blockheads stood in 🤔
Looked like boris johnson in the crowd there..haha.
Up the Lions!
YEAH RIGHT UP EM,
lenda
you said the 100 Club wasn't your scene but then you turned up alone you lied to me
DENY ,,,YOUR SUCH A LIAR
3 GREATS,ARE YOU WATCHING TEDY BOYS
Is Terry still with us?
I'm wondering that too
Quite sad to see really! Mick sadly can't hit the higher notes. Glenn Matlock is still quality though. Saw him at Beautiful Days 2017 and while his vocals and guitar playing were limited he did stick within his limits. He was a genial raconteur though and is still a really good bassist.
Not all the old guys have faded. SLF are still utterly superb live. Jake and Ali are both 63/64 now and Justin Sullivan of New Model Army is 65 and still an awesome performer.
Sadly Mick Jones doesn't seem capable of the excellent heights he used to reach. He's still an iconic legend though. Maybe he doesn't play regularly enough to be able to play at a good standard?
Eh!! Mick’s always sounded like that and all the better for it. What you want is guts and feeling, not a perfectly tuned delivery. Good on ya Mick and keep at it.
Just found this, you are right! Mick always sounded like this and love him for it. All power to London Mick.
Come on Mick, spend some of those Train in Vain royalties and give up rockin’ those kinda nasty Austin Powers English choppers. 🤷♂️
😆🤔💖
Who are all of the interviewees?
haha maybe they should of dropped it down a key for poor mick?bloody great though would of been a fun night
Absolutely love, The Clash, The Buzzcocks and The Pistols...But this sounds quite bad, has nobody noticed how out of tune the guitars are?...I know that this will be a controversial thing to say, as when you are into somebody, you are supposed to ignore glaring flaws like this..
what was the rest of em playing while Mick played stand by me?
Mick didn't play "stand by me"....he played "train in vain"
TEDDYS
Ha ! Love the Pistols & Buzzcocks but not the Clash...if the drummer would keep it up a bit maybe it would have sounded better ! But for a bit of fun and a good cause !
Struggled to get through Train in Vain somewhat these doddering old pensioners of Punk.
Diggles playing the wrong chords the Goon,an easy one to busker this one.
good cause but a bloody terrible din!
I was going to write exactly that! :)
Mick should have gone it alone
Could of done with a pro drummer
おーバズコックスのメンバーやね
jesus christ that drummer drags
no spunk
Poor Buddy doesn't know what the fuck he's playing
Professional mockney intro followed by a pensioner's day out.
Well that was horrific ...
I don't even know who any of these people are
Well fuck off then
Child.
Come on folks. This was an abomination.
Should have been good, but wasn't.
its punk
Jesus Christ this is atrocious. How can someone be a guitarist for this many years and still play like a beginner?
wow, the singing is pretty awful.. what the bloody hell happened, apart from age.. .
Feels terrible
And I’ve played drums for both Glen and Mick.
