Auburn fan but I love Painter. Also he kinda pointed out something not a lot of people do - I believe Auburn has 9 4th or 5th year seniors on this team, a ton of experience.
Auburn has so many weapons to defend. Defend inside, they hit threes, defend outside, they dominate inside. Their big guys can shoot threes as well. The team chemistry is great and unselfish, they are having fun playing.
I think we're gonna be forced to pick up one or two athletic wings in portal. Colvin and Heide over all are missing in action way too many times...Neither take the ball to the basket....offense is stagnant...no off ball movement at all...
When you struggle to: 1) in-bound the ball, 2) get the ball into the front court & start the offense before 10-12sec, 3) defend w/ #2 & #3, 4) run zero actions for the two athletes (#5/#23) that can compete w/ these kind of teams, 5) all the bigs play below the rim …you are not going to win against teams like Marquette & Auburn. This is a rebuilding year but still cannot understand sending Mason & Ethan away, so can’t complain about being young. There are too many guys on the roster that can’t play at this level. ZE was a great deodorant.
Purdue's coach Painter needs to use the portal. The Purdue team that made the FF last year will be that last one that built their team by recruiting and growing with the program (minus 1 transfer). They have no business not using it since they are a basketball crazy state and power-5

Okay “coach” 1) Painter didnt “send” Mason and Ethan away. They were given a choice to play their fifth year at Purdue or transfer prior to 2023-24 season. They chose to graduate and play elsewhere. 2) Auburn is #5 defense and #1 offense in the country. 3) It doesnt matter if Purdue bigs play above, below or behind the rim this team isnt beating Marquette or Auburn (in fact 95% of the country wont either) 4) Doesn’t matter what you run for Colvin or Heide if they are afraid to shot. 5) stick to coaching your sons middle school team and let Painter develop this years team 🙄
Purdue is nothing without Zach Edey. He made everyone on this team look like superstars when they were mediocre. Guard blew by me? Zach Edey erases. Shot clock down to 6 and I have no look? Dump it down to Edey. Without him these guys look like bums to be frank.

Should not have had a 5 person recruiting class consisting of 3 stars. Needed a few Lance Joneses this year.
