Vernons collection is out of this world. I take the kids out to see him annually. He's a great dude to talk to, and loves to talk about the cars. It does not matter how you are. He spent a good 30 minutes explaining some of them to my 12 year old.
I hope and trust that this collection will always remain on the rock. Living in Sydney Mines Cape Breton we love Newfoundland and her people. We have so many Newfoundlanders living with us as our neighbors. Some Trivia: From Cape Breton we can follow the VOCM talk show on 590AM and 570AM. The evening rebroadcast. Darn Cool!
Visited a few days before this video and not as many people were there so got to spend some time talking to Vern, he is so knowledgeable about all these cars and I could spend hours talking to him. This is a must visit for any car enthusiast.
So trippy to see a place I spent so much of my childhood in featured on UA-cam. I've sat in many of these cars and have spent hours ogling at them in this garage. Vernon is a gem, him and his collection are world class.
It's truly unbelieveable to see in person, you guys done a great job covering it. Anyone that loves cars can easily spend hours there. Vernon is the Best !!
He's so proud of his collection and rightfully so! I believe he also has more cars still in various stages of restoration. World class collection and gentleman!
The guy has done an amazing job and to share it so openly with the visiting public is a great credit to him. Stunning collection and fantastic knowledge
This collection is about 2 hours away from me. It's located in Swift Current, NL and this collection will send chills up your spine. When Vernon is there, he will talk to everyone. I thought he was super nice.
I grew up accross the road from the museum in swift current and knew Vernon sense I was knee high to a grass hopper always loved cars and being next to Vern’s helped me enjoy the automotive culture and talking about them beauty’s and cars in general!
Went out there a few weeks ago. Vernon is a top notch guy! Showed my friend and I around a few of the unique features of some of his cars! Extremely knowledgeable. This guys knows his stuff and while his collection must be priceless he's seems pretty humble
I was amazed by that also, especially when one car Mike mentioned it had a lot of relays. The guy responded with exactly how many relays , sensors and how many feet of wiring, instantly off the top of his head. Incredible
Wow I thought Jay Leno was knowledgeable with cars. proud Maritimer here from New Brunswick, did not know that there was such a collection in Newfoundland. thank you! who says you can't teach an old dog a new trick👍🏼😎🇨🇦
Old dogs know all the tricks ! Lol That's why there are no tricks left for them O'l dogs to learn !

So awesome to see Vern living the dream , he seems to really enjoy showing his collection and and talking about them , they sure are beautiful machines , thanks Mike 👍
What a great spot I visited Vern’s a couple of times back 6-8 years ago good to see him happy and doing well best collection I ever seen great video thanks for taking us along
I know nothing about cars and have no interest lol but I came across this video and gave it a watch….. Mr.Smith your knowledge of your collection and cars in general is amazing. Only live 20mins away and haven’t been There… thanks for the video
its crazy after all the cars you have seen on this trip that at the end on the trip you see a unreal millionaires classic collection freakin crazy awesome time pieces
My father's Studebaker Golden Hawk is in a car museum in Auburn Indiana. After my father drove it until he broke the frame, it went to a junkyard and the museum bought it and restored it.
Since the video started, all I could think about was what a huge responsibility for his kids to ensure this collection is maintained through the next generation just to hear him say he doesn't have any kids that's so so sad...
that was amazing .. so many of those i seen when new and i would stop at all the dealerships walking home from high school... so pristine and beautiful cars of the past .. thank you for taking me with you...
That was truly amazing. Inspired me to dig out some old car magazines and shop manuals that were given to me when I was a in my teens by an elderly man that I used to pile wood for. Might be worth something to someone.
Lincolns back in the 60's also had the button on floor next to the dimmer switch to change the radio station..My parents had two of them and it is what i learned to drive when i was 16 and also what i took my drivers test in..This collection is off the hook with amazing cars
Wow what a collection, I had a 1965 Impala SS 396 convertible just like his, except it was an automatic, not many people know this, the first few months of production the 1965 SS had a 400 hp 409 single four barrel, in Feb the 396 came out and Chevy switched motors. This is an incredible collection.
Wow that is quite the collection of early Americana automobiles. Just goes to show how beautiful those cars really were back then . You can have your high dollar Lamborghini and Ferrari This is quite the unique collection thanks guys really enjoyed this video.
We were there in the middle of Covid. when we walked in the first thing Vernon said to us was "You don't need to wear your masks in here if you don't want to" I said oh thank you so much. He's a great guy. such an amazing collection of antique cars and lets everyone including children touch and experience them.
Hey Mike, huge fan here! Have you made out with the codfish yet and drank that fine Newfie Screech we all hate? See ya got christened on way in with the rain so should be good to go anywhere here now eh? Take er easy bud and enjoy our hospitality!!
I had one of those single master cylinders fail on me. It wasn't so scary because it took awhile. At first I just had to pump it a few times to get a good pedal. But then it went from bad to gone all at once around the third day. Fortunately the hand brake was still there.
I repaired a '57 Tbird hardtop convertible years ago. It took me way too long to figure out that in order to raise and lower the top you simply reverse the polarity on the DC hydraulic power pack. I had no internet and no schematics. I ended up charging 12 hours labour after doing lots of other diagnostics and repairs. I thought the dude would put up a fight, but he wanted to kiss me. He's had it to four auto shops but finally brought it to my hydraulics shop.
Hi guys, Sam from Halifax yes some of them cars do bring tears. They are so awesome. I don’t know if I could handle that because I’d wanna drive one of them and there’s not enough time in the day to do that and the owner of the collection sounds like nice guy. I’m glad he was able to do this. take care guys and be safe
Vernon is top notch as are every one of his vehicles. I stop in every time I’m in Newfoundland, he’s always got time to chat.

Vernon’s encyclopedic knowledge of each vehicle is legendary. The man researches to the enth degree. He’s as fascinating as his vehicles.
