I was at Mikes summer swap meet in Tappen back in August or September last year. Mike rolled into the meet in his Chevelle, gets out and greets the people. Conversations ensue and Mike says loudly, “I’ll sell it right now!” His head spins slowly as he pans the crowd that’s gathered around and we meet eyes. “$20000 right now!” he says.
Time stopped! I began to run my financial world through my head. Would have been tight but do-able! I just grinned and wondered if he would be sorry he said that if I or someone else in earshot would have jumped on it. Could have been one of those right place, right time opportunities!
Was way cool to be in that moment. Wish I had spoke up. Might be divorced and homeless but the Chevelle would be mine….. ✌🏼😎👍🏼

That 502 sounds amazing, when I was younger in my old neighborhood, my best friends dad had a ground up build on a 70 Chevelle with the one of Canada’s first 502 big blocks to hit the market.
That motor on radial tires was insane, literally could roast a set of tires at any moment

I appreciate your format because it's raw and real, but I'm not sure if the general public has the same appetite. So many UA-cam channels are very highly curated, and I think people associate that with quality or whatever. Hopefully you have continued growth. I really enjoy the channel.

I had a 1968 Beaumont with the vent window and key in the dash was a 396 car with a hooped up 350 small block wish I still had that car man !
To me rust valley aka what I call Mike's car collection is nothing but beautiful old cars that all have potential with some tlc. I wish I had what Mike has as far as old cars. Gold mine 😂
Loved my 69 chevelle dark purple with a 327 2 speed power glide with pos rear end best car ever at same time pearl white 69 Beaumont with 350 small block shave five speed over drive fast car !! What I would give to be young again and know then what I know now ! I think life should work that way once you turn 65 you turn around and your 18 again just once in life and know and remember ever thing you learned the first 47 years !! Lol

Hi Mike, My friend Doug used to let his car warm up until all the ice and snow would melt off. I scrapped my windows after letting the car warm up a bit. We never took a broom to the paint of our cars. Now that you've worked so hard on the paint, please don't take the broom to the car. Back in the early seventies, the coolest driveway in the neighborhood was two doors over. Patrick's parents had a 68 Chevelle (307) and Patrick's uncle : Craig had a 68 or 69 Beaumont SD.Both cars were painted metallic green, but the SD had a vinyl top. Gorgeous cars. Beautiful body style the 68 & 69 Chevelles.

I'm from East Tennessee and have a Chevy Silverado special built in Canada it was rolled onto its top I had to shampoo muddy footprints out of the headliner. I put new hood and fenders and core support grill bumper and headlights and put 10k miles on it since not done nothing but oil changes it's a beast of a truck. We have 800 in it and free clear title. Best purchase of my life has like 70k total miles. It is 5½ inches shorter than other 4wd trucks like it but goes on snow and ice without a problem I don't know how the guy slid off road in it think he pushed old tires to far.

Mike is right about oil change intervals for B.C. to Ontario run.....Done it twice with modern Chev Tahoe trips to visit family in Windermire B.C. ....Changed oil on way home in Saskatchewan at about 5000 kilometers....motors will run for ever if oil changed regularly...Sincerely David

Love the 68 you have a beautiful car. out of prolly 500+ vehicles we've owned over last 50 years I miss our 68 Chevelle SS with 69 390 HP 427 4 gear the most was the maroon with black vinyl top beautiful car my little bride needed a vehicle with power steering. Besides that they said one more ticket they was gonna pull her license. Sure was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing brought back a lot of memories.

As a Canadian i get it having to dig our project cars out of snowbanks to work on them. i have quite a few American friends in the south that can work on their cars all year round outside and think im crazy when i tell them what we go through up here, i have turned some of them to your U Tube channel so they can see what we deal with. good luck with the Chevelle, love the car.
