- The RV nomad channels have become saturated and played out. They are running out of tips and gadgets to use as content. The channels that once claimed to be "drama free" now embrace the drama and use it for clicks. Drama sells and they know it.

I just get tired of the product reviews (commercials). We all know they got the product for free and will only sing praises regardless that it's crap and overpriced. We also know that just as soon as they finish the commercials, they sell the products because even they don't want it.

Yeah, the only one I still like to follow is Traveling Robert from Florida and even he has land up in the panhandle of Florida. I tuned out the rest and I love your take on live.
150K for an RV - you have that right. No way. Beautiful location shoot. Love it. (wish I could spell right the first time instead of edit - stupid spell wrong feature). I think living in a van, car, RV full time would be hell, but as weekend warriors, vacation time I still think it is great to get out on the road camping, if you can afford it. I enjoyed it when we did it. No regrets. 👍👋
Exactly! The fad of living in a van has run the course for most. Look at Lorries Way. She's still in Quartzsite but living in a RV park in someone's camper trailer.

I think the one right now that made the biggest shift from a nice rv channel is Destination Open Road . They have embraced the Drama titles big time ! They are giving in to the Dark side of deceiving their viewers. That tells me, they don't respect the viewers and are just view suckers !

The newness of nomad life has worn down and their better days are behind them.. Any nomad who has a YT channel and solely bases their income from it are fools.. Put all your eggs in one basket because getting a job is not an option.. Look at Mikey, he's been struggling for years, can't compete with Tater and still won't get a job.. I suppose the drama click bait titles will get the gullible to click.. One more thing.. I stopped watching DOR years ago because their titles did not match anything in the video, so the click bait titles you would run from.. Can't believe they stooped that low..

Right up there with expat videos. You could do a whole critique on that. People who claim you can live on $500-$1000/month in some far flung destination. But I can say from experience, they’re not giving the whole story.

Drama SELLS
The only reason Tim gets 2/3 of his views is drama. So many know there's a trainwreck comin' sooner or later, but it's definitely comin.' Tim knows it too and he's desperate. Like you said, "Drama sells"
They should have seen this coming. Some did and have moved out of the country to make a different kind of channel for their viewers. Some are continuing to make their videos, some have taken a break, some have returned from a break and other simply rehash what they have already done. I agree, RVs have seen their time, now it is purchase land for a home base for as you say to be homesteaders without a cause. Some tried to make a two week vacation into a money making business. I like to see where some travel to, even though i have done a lot of traveling in my almost 69 years young. People create their on brand of drama and Karma will come knocking at some point. Thank you for sharing. Everyone stay, safe, warm (i know it is June, but some places are still cold), happy and healthy.
Reality has set in with these grifters. As they start to age, they see less and less income from their channels and probably have no retirement plan or enough SSA to make it thruough the month. Their UA-cam addiction has destroyed their lives ! Oh well.........damn the bad luck ! LOLOLOLOL

Reality is I keep my home , love my van life 75% , nothing will ever replace that Lonley feeling like home sweet home. I will always have the open rd as my 2ND home away from freedom is owning a homestead. PERIOD

Van life peaked around 2015. It's played out. Old news. No longer oddly compeling.
I think the folks that have money to do nomad life, are figuring out going camping for long periods of time sucks. I know we figured it out.
They kind of ruined it, by encouraging 10's of thousands of young (work remotely) and retired to people to sell everything and live either on public land or mooch dock on friends and family as long as they tolerate it. Now most places are off limits, even Walmarts don't want these freeloaders parking anymore and that was a big help when we were traveling across country but no more.
I agree. It hurt the older snow birds that had the idea first of going down to public land and staying the winter because it was economical for them. They were retired and this was their gig. The sad thing is young couples & freeloaders quit their jobs sold their homes and hit the road and relied on UA-cam for support. Not everyone was a videographer. It didn’t work for everyone. Now comes the felons, con artists that use YT as a begging platform and they have sent an example for all to follow. Those people have ruined it for a lot of people. Someday soon the bottom will drop out and they will have nothing.

Just back from a nice short camping trip on Lake Superior with our campervan which worked out great but we really appreciate all the room in our regular house.

Absolutely correct. What happened to travel videos? They found out during covid that viewers would watch while they were stationary. After the lockdowns viewers want them back on the road and it is to much work for them. Not what i was watching for so i no longer watch their videos. Its like signing up for ongoing commercial ads and watching the life style viewers are paying for. I know daily filming and editing is time consuming but that is what they signed up for. We all work to earn a living.
I agree with you here. I travel very fast and I enjoy the lifestyle of traveling. There’s just so much out there to see so sitting still has never really sat well with me because I could do that in a traditional lifestyle. So I travel about 75% of the year reserving those times for being home too when I have special events with family or things I need to handle business. For that reason, I don’t really resonate with the content of a lot of channels that are in the van space because they just sit and that’s never going to be who I personally am. It also gets kind of frustrating when people come to the channel and like how I present things, but don’t like that I move Because I’ve literally been moving for seven years lol

NEEWER 2 transmitter (mic) and one receiver. You can record right to the mic, or plug receiver into camera or phone. I just got it. So far it's nice. 1/3 the price of the Rode and just as good.

I think so many folks bought crappy RVs during and after the whole pandemic that they see it sucks (which is why so many y are up for sale now). People just want to stay in their cozy homes now.

I'm just about ready to hit the road soon at 66. I have done plenty of camping and offloading and all but not much traveling. But when I start I have a house and 4 lots total equaling 5 acres ALL PAID FOR. I won't be living in a rv on a piece of dirt that has a shed for a house.

BV - This is a tough one and it’s hard for me to even ask. Since you BV have observed both Dim and Tater matriculate and germinate in the wild. You have seen them grow and divide in the Petri dish 🧫. If I told you, you would be stranded on a deserted island 🏝️ and you had to choose between either Dim or Tater. You can’t say neither…you must pick one, who would it be ? I think its like the economy it runs in cycles.
Even the ones that have land still leave the property don't stay.
Lucky if the last a year ,and if it gets cold they . run to Quartzsite ,Phoenix, or Tucson. Aka CVK ,. TATER and Mike ,and others.
What's changed is the staged Vanlife babe and her nomadic lifestyle on UA-cam, and there's simply too much competition and people have got tired of the stories. What hasn't changed is people need for a roof over their heads, at a reasonable price, and Vanlife/RV life can solve that. Young will always be adventurous and want their own space from parents. Older people will struggle with rentals, and there's another demographics that will gravitate to RV's and are doing so.
GRINDR VIEWS is also a drama leach channel mooching off the bottom feeders for views

What's your problem with RV life? People are just living their lives. So what if they buy land. Why is that anybodys concern?
