      Would definitely help a lot more people than the constantly revolving door of psychologists. That’s probably the worst problem is the constant reliving of the trauma because one can’t just get the same therapist that already knows and can keep a consistent treatment plan.

    As a disabled Vet who has come close to being one of those 22 a day too many times to count, thank you for giving me a new way to live. i can do 300 too. I saw your video yesterday when my husband played it, and wanted to come back today to rewatch it on my own to let you know that those 5 minutes have helped me survive another day. I can do this too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can count to 300 everytime. God Bless You.

      ...they hate young honest working females. I left home at 17yrs old. Did bootcampp, 2nd semester of high school. Turned 18in July, 1987. Flew to Alaska the same day. Ft. Richardson, Alaska. 90505.? HHC 6th I.D. Grizzly Bears. Had knee surgery at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska cuz that was the nearest hospital at the time. I fell , had a concussion, tore knee up, woke up in the hospital, at Ft. Wainwright... somehow these in secure little pricks. don't wanna pay me . Cuz they hate women, especially making the same income. But yeah. True story. God bless all DAVs. Thank you for your service. So I can have freedom, .of speech. And God bless all veterans. Listen folks, former Officer here. Stop telling your kids they aren’t good enough to be an Officer. This guy had prior Enlisted experience in two career fields, gutted out a degree while in service, and was decorated. I have no doubt he would have made a fine Officer and literally made twice the income, but his dad tore him down. Don’t do that, Officers are just people that shouldn’t be on an unrealistic pedestal.

    • @ToastyMozart
      @ToastyMozart 18 днів тому +9

      Plus it's not like there's a penalty for trying to get commissioned. What's the worst that can happen, they say no and you walk back to the enlistment office like you originally planned? May as well give it a shot.

    • @alexanderbreeding1830
      @alexanderbreeding1830 14 днів тому +5

      As both a former enlisted and former officer in the Navy, I can say without question that there are many officers who shouldn't be let out of the house, let alone be in command of anyone or anything - but they have a college degree and someone agreed to let them in. We really need to end quotas and focus on quality. But yes, I'm also a combat-wounded disabled veteran and this guy is great. I have no doubt that he would have been a fine officer and certainly could have been an asset in leading men, if for no other reason than he'd already been there and done that, and that's what a lot of it is.

    • @Thomas-uk5cp
      @Thomas-uk5cp 14 днів тому +4

      Yes. Officers arent any more special than enlisted, they just get paid more because someone decided they should be. More people should go for it.

      Never say "just a". I was a crew chief for 2/3 of my 24 years. Then a Shirt for the final 8. One thing I hated doing was sending the younger guys off to Desert Shield/Storm when the Col. wouldn't let me go with them when I was used to going in maintenance. My machine shop teacher made me take the ASVAB while I was in high school. I ended up with one of the highest scores in the nation; 3 or 4 fully decked out sailors came to my house and my school to recruit me on multiple occasions. My dad, most of my uncle's, my mom, my grandparents, all veterans convinced me to not go. My mom (retired) is a naval architect(also did some tank and submarine systems), her youngest brother (became a mercenary) had the in on bad things coming. They weren't wrong; I still question taking their advice. I remember being a little kid hanging out on various ships all over the world, I sat in more captains chairs than I sat in seats of cars I owned. I'm happy with where I'm at; sometimes I wonder if I would be happier if I pursued what put the biggest smile on my face as a kid..... I'll never know. God bless anyone who served.

    My brother was stationed at Norton and I was stationed at Lackland where we did train Marines to perform brig duty, so this man's story rings true. I'm glad he found comedy as his therapy. Not everyone is so fortunate.

    "Guidance counselors" that quash young people's hope for their future are anti-counselors and in the wrong job.

      My recruiter told me that I could easily change jobs once I was in the military. Recruiters get paid to lie. I wanted to be a Russian translator for the Pentagon and I ended up being a wrench Turner working on airplanes.

    Thank God for someone who understands what it's like to take that oath, to live up to it, and to remind other folks that there are men like him who keep us safe. And he's right about the VA -- VA hospitals are staffed with medical students from nearby teaching hospitals. I've been through that merry-go-round. Just when you start to develop a relationship with a doctor, POOF! They're gone, and you start over with a new one.
