- Today, August 29, 2015, marks what would have been Ingrid's 100th birthday and that has got to be celebrated, so of course I had to make a video to do just that. I hope that it captures at least some of her magic. I tried to make it as diverse as I possibly could to really show off her extraordinary career, but of course there's still movies that are missing - I wish I was able to include them all. But I hope you will enjoy it!

While filming in Fall 1969 "A Walk in the Spring Rain" partly on the campus of University of Tennessee Knoxville, she took a break in her trailer. She then came out and met her fans while signing autographs. I was a 20-year old student there. I got her autograph and told Ms. Bergman I'd always loved her movies including Casablanca and Notorious. She was delighted and said, "Young man you've seen some old movies for your age". (This was decades before VCRs, DVDs, the internet, etc.) I replied, "Yes, I've watched your movies whenever they came on TV plus new ones at the movies." She smiled and said, "I wish I had more fans your age!" I shook her hand, thanked her for her autograph and her time talking with me, and she said, "It was my pleasure. You made my day." I walked away in a daze. She was beautiful in person and beautiful in her heart. I'd just met a true legend and a true lady!
To hear this story makes me even more proud to be a swedish countryman to Ingrid Bergman. I couldn't agree more of your very kind words about her.
I still wish today I might have met her.... she was my favorite actress.....but I had the honor to meet her daughter Isabella Rossellini..... she was very pretty too... she signed my book of Ingrid Bergman..... her life story...!!!!

I’m a hospice nurse currently working with cancer patient. This patient has the posters of actors and actresses before my time. So to better understand him I ended up doing a little bit research to the movies he used to watch. And here I am . 🙂

There are no words to describe the admiration I feel for this amazing lady, she is the only one who had being able to inspire me to do better and that by itself is a miracle. She was a true talent and her legacy will last my lifetime and the next and the next. I was born after she died but she is making a change even nowadays. Ingrid, here is looking at you kid!

Lovely! I especially like her comment early in the video where she points out that she has PLAYED all these various roles and characters - 'nuns and saints' - but that is not the person she is. Excellent that you included that. We can enjoy and appreciate all these films but not be confused that they are 'roles' - some fictional, some adaptations of the lives of real people - and be grateful that they 'came to life' on the screen through the work of Ingrid Bergman. Let us celebrate her 100th birthday!

You capture the essence of Ingrid Bergman so well in this video! She was a phenomenal actress and truly deserves to be an icon on the same level as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. I’ve seen most of her movies now, but on those rare occasions when I do find a new one, I’m always blown away by Ingrid’s talent. Honestly, she could have won an Oscar for every one of her performances. I personally think that her best acting performances were in Gaslight and Joan of Arc.
I can't think of her without remembering Casablanca. I still watch it at least once a year. Thank you Sara, for reminding me it's time to watch it again.

Luminescent, is the word, as "2legit64" described Ingrid.. She was like a beautiful butterfly. So iridescent. So wholesome in balancing her natural, unblemished beauty with life offerings. Sara, another fabulous video production. It's hard to believe she would have been 100 years old last week. I didn't realize she was so young, only 67, when she died. And...born and died on the same day of the month. You don't see that much. Thank you!

Very nice video! Ingrid Bergman shares the same birthday, the same year as my grandma. She passed away in 2015 but just a couple months before turning 100, and she was an amazing woman with a very strong faith!

Beautiful collection, thank you!. It was lovely to be able to see so many extracts from her Swedish films. Ironic that my all-time favourite 'The Inn of the Sixth Happiness' was not included. But, as you said yourself, it is not possible to include all of her films.

As an artist she was great, as a human I'm not sure. I've read many books, saw many Interviews, so my heart is divided. She was a drifter, very concentraded on her own person. Even though she seemed to be devoted to others. As an actress one of my favourites, as a human...I still don't know.

She was swedish AND german (her mother was from Germany and she spent a lot of her time with her german family). She was fluent in German, too. Don't like it? Not my problem.
