My older son and I have been watching you and reading your books for the last year and thru you and many other YT hosts discovered all of these geniuses. We both believed that we should go if, for nothing else, just to be present at an historic event with wonderful speakers and music front to back. We were very nearby dropping the younger son off at UMD (who also watches you) but alas I was having surgery in two days and didn't want to risk the exposure. We did however ingest all the live streaming. I wanted to tell you at the event but instead will do it here. If we (the Republic) can achieve cranial extraction from the proverbial ass, and you will have us, I will join millions in welcoming you to become part of The Great Experiment. It's absolutely critical to remember the words of John Adams that this republic of ours is made for a moral and religious people and wholly inadequate for any one else. So any attempt to save the Republic has to include a deeper purpose based in a higher calling that can be the fuel to go through the hardship, sometimes long periods, necessary in any large and meaningful endeavor.

I have just finished the Daily Wire section and- oh my goodness. So many thoughts. First of all, dearest Dr. Peterson, your idea wasn’t crazy. It’s an old, old trope, and a favorite one of mine as a reader and writer of science fiction. The trope of a motley crew coming together to form a found family to fight evil at the cost of their own lives is, in a sense, the story told in the Acts of the Apostles, the stories of the saints. I wrote a couple essays for Wrong Speak comparing your story to the stories of, respectively, St. Christopher and St. Eustace. And both had the similarity of the pursuit of the cross, of the “ex” you were speaking of. St. Christopher encountered the cross at the crossroads, and understood the great paradox of Christianity, that through death Christ destroyed him who had the power of death, that it is in dying that we are born to eternal life, it is out of weakness that we are made strong, it is through suffering that we reach glory. And St. Eustace pursued the deer with the cross for antlers. And I wrote that you are also in pursuit of that white deer, not knowing that it is Christ. And so are Bret and Heather and so many others of this motley crew. And then I thought of Constantine and his vision of the cross, “By this sign you shall conquer.” Because Christianity has always been a counter-cultural movement, and the moment it gets into bed with the reigning powers that be, it is no longer Christianity. And I connected that in my thoughts with the “resistance.” And, well. Just a lot of thoughts and I never know who’s reading them or if they make a difference, but writers write, and so. We need to build a system and structure for collective ideation, reasoning, and truth determination in order to determine what is most important, true, and what to do about it. An immutable record of what everyone believes is important through time that continually grows but doesn't allow anyone to alter or change the record of the past. A system that allows us to sort out and map the most important ideas related to every topic and describe them in language a 4 year old can understand, while also having the ability to delve into as much nuance as necessary.

This conversation around music cohesion and the propositional is what happens when the conservative negates it’s responsibility to the point that the liberal mind steps in to rectify balance. Conservatives are unable to express this in the same way that liberals do which is why we see liberals have unity even for a bad idea or catchy meaningless slogan. The other thing I believe great music does is an altered state of consciousness akin to hemispheric synchronization which if in the gamma range is better focus on topic and retention.
Even if the music was great, phony Woodstock ethos is part of what got us where we are now, so paying homage to that doesn’t help. While I’m not excited about any of the music for this new festival, the purpose is more authentic and I hope it’s successful.

I live a few miles from Evergreen State College, which reminds me of the injustice this brilliant man, his wife and white people in general at this institution faced seven years ago. We need to build a system and structure for collective ideation, reasoning, and truth determination in order to determine what is most important, true, and what to do about it. An immutable record of what everyone believes is important through time that continually grows but doesn't allow anyone to alter or change the record of the past. A system that allows us to sort out and map the most important ideas related to every topic and describe them in language a 4 year old can understand, while also having the ability to delve into as much nuance as necessary.

This conversation around music cohesion and the propositional is what happens when the conservative negates it’s responsibility to the point that the liberal mind steps in to rectify balance. Conservatives are unable to express this in the same way that liberals do which is why we see liberals have unity even for a bad idea or catchy meaningless slogan. The other thing I believe great music does is an altered state of consciousness akin to hemispheric synchronization which if in the gamma range is better focus on topic and retention.
Even if the music was great, phony Woodstock ethos is part of what got us where we are now, so paying homage to that doesn’t help. While I’m not excited about any of the music for this new festival, the purpose is more authentic and I hope it’s successful.
