Rock on man great tone! Challenge completed! Have Line 6 seen this?
I'm not sure! Hope so. Thanks!
I also like the crunch amp (Friedman) model better than the lead (PV)! Liking my POD Express so far! Made custom clean and dirty patches! 🤘🏻
There’s something to be said for ease of use. Some great tones in there and easy to dial in. Rock on!
You kicked ass with this tone.....awesome....I love my Pod Express...So fast, simple and tasty sounding!
Thank you! It’s a great sounding unit!
Great work!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
How does it sound so good considering everything's sent into the front of amp?!
Back in the day that's what Edward did.....Plate reverb added at the desk but no effects loops and everything straight in.
sick tone this lil thing can do a lot
Yes indeed!
first time viewer and now a subscriber. i'd like to make a copy of these settings, wish they were in a pic form or something easier to negotiate. sounded killer.
With no online editor it kind of makes it difficult. Basically crunch amp, couple scoops of Klon drive, crank bass on amp. Healthy dollop of plate verb and a splash of phaser set really slow.
Brad you are killing it … could you give like a lick lesson too please (mark from the uk)
Sure. I’ve got a legato lesson coming out this week. Any specific requests?
@@badbrad how to have longer and interesting melodic lead lines to major and minor backing tracks
@@markrobinson4263 ah ok. That's def a legit concern. I got a video coming out down the line called Shred The Blues. It touches on something that might help you. Back in my Musicians Institute days we had a teacher that would make you play continuous eighth notes through an entire tune. Try doing that. It def sounds boring when you do it but it forces you to keep going.
Thanks!
No problem!
Could the Lead be dialed in more for a 5150 sound? I'm picking one up tomorrow
That would depend on your ears
Sounds really good! Any luck getting a good Van Hagar era tone with this unit? Believe it or not, I was able to get a pretty decent harmonizer type tone from one of those cheap Cube Baby units on Amazon, but it's only in mono. Thanks in advance.
Now that’s a request I had not thought of. I’m not an expert on that era but I can imagine maybe turning on the chorus at a very slow speed with the Lead amp might get you there.
@@badbrad no worries and thank you for the quick response. I'm just a hobbyist that likes to make little videos for my channel and Instagram stories etc. so it should be good enough. I think I might pick one up!
Awesome!@@RivieraOrthodontics
Yep, that sound is BROWN!
Thank you!
You can actually try to use crunch preset cab (which is using marshall cab with greenbacks) on 5150, and bring more presence on it… I guess itll sound even closer
I was going for the VH early tone which is a plexi tho the 5150 is fun to play it has a ton more gain than that early VH tone.
@@badbrad welp... Yeah. Thats true.
Can you talk more about variaks…I thought that was” I have a 40 year old amp and I don’t want it to blow up when I turn it on…”..type of thing….Shoujd I get a variak?
There is a device called the AMPRX brown box that can regulate the power going to your amp. IF you starve the voltage a little bit to the amp ...it will give it a more squishy compressed type sound...EVH used a variac to do this. First question would be what's the voltage coming out of your wall? On the road the voltage varied greatly and would affect my amp tones a lot. Amp would sound better when the volt was lower, sometimes voltage would be higher and it never sounded or felt good at those venues.
I’m a little late to the party on this device Brad. I was just wondering can you just use it as a pedal in front of an amp. I just have the orange crush RT 35 and keep the amp say on the clean channel. Would I get all the line 6 pod express sounds through my orange amp? Thanks!
That might not be the optimum way to use it. Now if you crush has an effects send plug the express into the output of the effects send of the crush and then it would bypass the preamp of the crush. You could def try what you suggested tho and maybe it would work for what you’re doing.
@@badbrad Thanks for the reply Brad. Yeah I’ll give it a try I haven’t bought it yet I just got the Katana Go and I’m loving it though they say the battery lasts up to 5 hours on the Katana…. don’t know about that! I’m getting maybe a good 3 hours.
@@fredbrandl880 3 hours is about right! Thanks bro!
@@badbrad 👍
U need to use your own distortion pedals
With the Pod express?
@@badbradyeah man try that out. I’m interested in hearing that.
Sounded pretty pretty pretty close.
Thank you! Rock On!
Damn..!
Thanks!
Sick video intro!
Thanks so much!
I’m glad you uploaded this! Great sound 👍🏻
Thank you! I appreciate it!
