I have a few songs that always lift my spirits, but one song that never fails to lift my spirits is Daydream Believer by the Monkees; I don't care if they didn't play their own instruments or wrote their own songs, it's impossible to feel down when that song is on. Pretty hard to feel down when Georgy Girl by the Seekers comes on either. Or Ring of Fire; it's just so upbeat in rhythm, I can't stop myself from turning it up and singing along when it pops up. I often feel down so I look for songs to cheer me up, thanks for a few new ones and the name of one that I liked, but could never remember the name of when I got home.

Is it weird that two of those songs...'Wouldn't it be Nice' and 'Here Comes the Sun' almost always get a tear from me? Something about them always makes me sad. The promise of something that hasn't and may not ever happen perhaps? Maybe just their beauty in the face of the everyday humdrum things in front of us all? I don't know. They are both brilliant. I was a slightly socially awkward sophomore in high school, partnered with a guy of the same ilk, to compete in a school social dance competition. He was awkward and seemingly two feet taller than I, and we didn't really know one another. We chose to waltz to "My Girl," and I thought we did okay... We both did pretty darned well - we got 2nd place, and a fancy ribbon to wear... 😃 I know, not that big a deal, and so sentimental, 🙄 but I think of him every time I hear that song. 💕

Led Zeppelin stole a riff, allegedly, yet won every court case, (how, I don't know because it was a complete rip off). Don't get your panties in a bunch. No matter what anyone says, The Beatles didn't invent music. George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon wrote some good songs, but I wasn't screaming and crying at their shows. Paperback Writer was my style, but when they got into LSD, they needed to break up. Out of those 16 simple notes, we've had some of the most incredible music ever made; however, sometimes we borrow because if we don't, we end up with nothing new. Mozart became folk music in the 60s. Led Zeppelin stole a riff, allegedly, yet won every court case, (how, I don't know because it was a complete rip off). Don't get your panties in a bunch. No matter what anyone says, The Beatles didn't invent music. George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon wrote some good songs, but I wasn't screaming and crying at their shows. Paperback Writer was my style, but when they got into LSD, they needed to break up. George Harrison did write one of the most beautiful songs ever: Something in the Way She Moves will live forever. 💙 The other song that goes with Something is Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton.
