A small correction - the de Havilland Heron was marque DH.114, not DH.104 (which was its smaller cousin the Dove). Good to see this. I was a 12 year old aircraft spotter at Southampton Airport in 1960 and saw these BEA DC-3s most days.

G-AGHS went on to serve with Cambrian Airways. Thanks for uploading this well-presevered footage in HD.Had to pause it to look at all the Dakotas on the apron at JER.

The most infamous Dakota in Jersey is BUA's G-ANTB. She crashed just before touchdown 14th April 1965, low visibility. 27 died only air hostess survived. Intresting fact. At that time BEA's hangar was across the road from the airport, based in a wooden hangar that had been put there by the Luftwffe. There were traffic lights to stop cars so aircraft could be towed across. The hangar survived till the 1980's. Finally used by Falle's hire Cars.
