Years ago my Dad bought some prawn cracker pellets, took one look at them and thought 'these are a bit small' and threw a handful in a pan. Five minutes later we've got a volcano of prawn crackers spilling out of the saucepan.

That said, I'm not sure where the implied twist is on this idea you're suggesting compared to the original. I'd honestly be more interested to see normals vs takeaway as we already know chefs can do it from Joshua Weissman. They might not make it but it would probably be closer and still need some cheffy hacks they picked up. They'll probably always do it cheaper than a restaurant as it needs a markup to make money but trying to beat a restaurant's time without including the delivery time (they can prepare ingredients in advance in exchange) might be a genuine challenge.

While their is markup restaurants also buy in bulk for a discount so price could still be tight. In fact you could only give the chefs half the budget which would make it more challenging

Although this video lacked the chaotic energy that Barry brings and the sarcasm and education that Ebbers provides we were still treated to an amazing video and at no point were left feeling like the video was missing another member. Mike and Jamie bounce off each other so we’ll because they have such a strong friendship, Kush having a little cameo that gave the video another body who added an element to the humour and the guest appearance from pumpy the cow meant we were treated to the usual Sorted content and didn’t leave the video with the impression that it lacked anybody else because it had so much going on and the narration was so fluid and natural
I love seeing them work together and havng fun like this! And Kush holding is his ribs and wiping his tears while mike is singing is just the cherry on top! I'm curious what Kush thought about the dish though...

Randomly found this channel on UA-cam and have been binge watching ever since. Watching Kush's reaction to the "Pumpy the cow" song followed by the cow noodle extractor had me in stitches 😂😂😂 I am eternally grateful for the Sorted Food crew, I'm learning and laughing - life doesn't get better than that.
Bought the cook book for my sister and her new husband as they both love to cook. Thought it would make a lovely wedding present as they are massive foodies. Will link them this video when they’re home from honeymoon.

They did a great job! That looked really good. I had the pleasure of going to WD-50, Wylie Dufresne's restaurant in NYC before it closed. I was such a fan of him ever since watching Top Chef and seeing him guest star. That plate the guys made looked like it would fit right in his restaurant. Loved the video!
If ever possible, I'd love to see one of the chefs featured in this book reacting to the boys' attempts at their signature dishes. Or even sitting on the sidelines during said attempt.
I loved the UNtimed of this. more of this - it was properly interesting without chaos or "flapping." (latter has a good place but - 14 years in - I want things that I can learn from. which includes Dufrense's shrimp meat paste, oil, crackers, etc for when pushing the boat out)

16:32 The question that Jamie had at the end is the same question that is a motivational roadblock for me in trying out these kinds of recipes - in general it seems like the more complicated and fancier the dish, the less you get on the plate at the end. Working for an hour or more to get three or four bites of food just doesn't feel rewarding enough to me, even if I have fun during the process. Sure the recipe can be scaled up but they can quickly get prohibitively expensive!
It's a must if you like prawn crackers go find them in an Asian shop. There are quite a few makers try all for the one you like. Some are small other taste way better. The ones on the show are nice but I have found one that is way huge when cooked and taste way better.

I just gave someone a loaf of bread as a gift. I like to make two half loaves in one bread pan--I can shape them like rolls, and if you live alone or don't eat bread very quickly, you can easily wrap half in freezer paper and freeze it for later.
I'm 99.9% certain Kush arranged that carrot-of-sizeable-girth exactly in that spot just before the filming started. The fact that Jamie and Mike refuse to acknowledge the-carrot-in-the-room is causing me to stare at it! 🤣🤣
