  • Starting our 6000 s/n D8 1H after sitting for over 13 years. Get the mag sparking, thanks to Jim Barratt. Clean the pony fuel system. Rear pony cyl had zero compression despite oil slobber kill long ago. This tractor cleared much of our farm and will always be part of our family. Tall young man is our son Anders and his friend Neil. Wendy just post total knee replacement, shot most of the video.

Did you break the cable when you lifted the blade to far?

No. Badly frayed from earlier use and it eventually parted after walking the machine a bit. We did not mean to lift it so high. The cone clutch hangs up if it sits for a while.

Well did it move and still operate

Yes, we keep it in a start able condition and continue to use it for the occasional push or pull.

You keep starting it like that and it will be scrap in no time! Shut the damn diesel throttle off and let it turn over on compression to build up heat for four minutes then start it! Get a operation and service manual for it and learn something! And let starting engine idle first!
