Hopefully you visit Tokyo Disney in the future because their Splash Mountain is brilliant, the maintenance for example its like a brand new ride over there!
story from what i can understand is that your helping tiana looking for critters that can play music for a party and your going round looking for them and you get turned into a frog and you find them and then you get turned back into a human on the big drop for the party at the end of the ride
That’s pretty much it but there was much Googling needed after the ride to understand it as it’s not very clear whatsoever, too many little side stories distracting from the core plot
@@zarajenkins6948 the animatronics were poorly kept, you can tell. Look at a 90’s pov, and you’ll see how fluid they were. This is a “we don’t want to spend money” situation than an “they were always like that” The old sets were great!
@@thebup6850there’s only so much maintenance can do before something breaks or stops working to the point it needs to be fully replaced. There’s a lot that Disney can do in house but if something breaks where they can’t fix it in house then that’s where it’s gets expensive. I know because I work at Disneyland and I’ve seen first hand what happens when something breaks beyond repair.
I'm the opposite, rode splash but obviously not Tianas yet. Even I would say Tianas looks better. In terms of changing the surrounding area, there's a project called 'Beyond Big Thunder', which looks set to be the biggest expansion to magic kingdom since it opened, with Tianas close proximity to it, it's possible they might incorporate it into that project
Only rode Splash Mountain once in December 2019 and had the front row but I didn't get that wet. I thought it looked very congested to begin with, but it seemed to be more spread out by the big drop, but I could certainly be wrong. I'll certainly give this a go when I'm next there, but think that'll be a few years away yet.
Also didn't get to ride Splash but i'm yet to see a POV of Splash that looked better than this does. I guess the build up to the drop could build more anticipation? but people would have still said this was worse no matter what disney could have done. Most people are emotionally wedded to their nostalgia. 'Back in my day x was better' etc etc. Just came back from there last week, hope you're applying that sunscreen 🥵 Have fun! Great content as ever!
Shake off the salt - definitely aimed at the critics there. Looks like a great themed water ride. And the main drop is still epic, facing right towards the castle.
It’s obviously better as it’s all new animatronics. I also like there’s more greenery , like trees etc. Still, the nostalgia for those who rode the original will always be better for that reason. I was like 10 when I first rode this and now I’m 33.
What an experience we did Splash Mountain a few times last time we were there and it was incredible I miss it so much!! and it looks like you get as wet as you did 🙌
Really? It looked so dated to me. Can’t comment for on ride experience though. The nostalgia for it is madddd people buying the water when it closed etc 😂
@LiftHillsandThrills why would you buy brown water? I guess it is a bit like preferring old nemmy to Reborn. I haven't done Tiana yet, so I'll refrain from hating it
Glad u didn't have any technical issues on your ride, been seeing and hearing of it being plagued with them so far. Haven't been seeing or hearing too many reviews of it as well as conversation around the ride can get very heated aha
Looks like you're having a great time. A lot of Americans seem to be quite salty over Splash Mountain being gone but for us Brits being able to come to Magic Kingdom let alone Florida is a giant luxury so we can't relate to all the outrage. Anyway have fun :)
The story is that Tiana is holding a party and we have to find the musicians to make up the band, so we go around recruiting all the animals who are playing instruments. Thats why we get shrunk, to recuit the frogs. I agree it isn't clear and i only know from watching other POV's 😊.
Yeah Splash Mountain like u said was one of them old nostalgia rides, dated film it was based off so was needing this change it will always be compared to Splash Mountain do agree the new storyline is confusing or lack off which i hope over time gets altered and with the overall area gets a new orlean theme too.
Hopefully you visit Tokyo Disney in the future because their Splash Mountain is brilliant, the maintenance for example its like a brand new ride over there!
I'd love to check out Splash Mountain over there!
I understand the history of the ride but things change and the new Disney anamtronics are just phenomenal
Can’t argue with that!
Apparently Splash Mountain was racist so they changed it 🤷🏼♂️

@@LiftHillsandThrills interesting cause I was like throughout the ride they do keep mentioning they are looking for muscicians
Splash mountain will always be my favourite. So glad my girls got to go on it before it changed
Thanks for watching all the same Mark!
@@LiftHillsandThrills no worries mate. I enjoy your videos
The ride theming is gorgeous and I'm glad Tiana got her own attraction. Her movie is quite good.
It is a decent film!
Great vid I would love to go to Disney land but the que times always put me off and I end up going to towers and doing nemesis all day 😂
The queues haven't been too bad since being here! Longest wait we've had has been 40 mins which for Disney is tiny!
Looking forward to try this out in December.
Hope you enjoy it!
lucky for some!! jealous!
😀
Looks great, hope you get ride Dudley Do Ripsaw Falls. Have an amazing time🎉
Thank you!
Those animatronics were sick. I couldn't tell between them and the screens. Bravo
Amazing aren’t they?!
Splash Mountain is better
Is it though? It looked awfully dated and run down before it closed
@@LiftHillsandThrillscouldn’t you pin that on poor maintenance than poor design?
If you like dated animatronics and 90's sets 😂

That’s very possible as we were also told last night that Tom Sawyers island looks to be removed and that’s in that area
@@LiftHillsandThrills oooo, interesting, one to keep an eye on I think.

Great vlog! You should go to Tokyo Disneyland and ride the last remaining version of Splash Mountain 😄
Feel free to donate to the Sean to Tokyo appeal 😂
Wow! Brilliant vlog - thanks for getting them out so fast!
It might be slower after today as we still haven’t got our luggage back and it has our travel adapters in it haha

Suncream is no match for this heat 😂
I never ever got wet on splash mountain and was bored of the theming but nice to see updated visuals and definitely a wetter experience
It looked ever so tired

Agreed 👏
Who the hell is Tiana lol !? 😂 🤷🏼♂️
She’s new around here aha
Brilliant vlog
Thank you man! Tried to get the full walkthrough / ride experience into this one
wow
Right?!
Moist! lol

Exactly this
The first time I rode Splash Mountain it had only been open a week, all the way back in Oct 92
Wow!

It’s a soaker this one
Loved the ride! And the updates ! Not so much how wet we got ! But what an evening !! 😀
Haha it was great, really exclusive too! Loved how quiet it was
Splash Mountain was my favourite ride in the park. Another reason to add Japan to the bucket list

Will do and I agree! I’m not usually a fan of change but this seems miles better it’s only nostalgia that would make sense regarding the outrage
It looks awesome. The animatrontics are incredible xx
They really are!
I just can’t wait for every day , every ride you see how good your reactions will be
I’m picking my jaw up off the floor every 60 seconds
I’m riding this soon
Lemme know what you think of it when you do!

Isn’t clear whatsoever. It makes sense when explained but it was never entirely clear on-ride
