Nice overview, Scott. I have been using the remove tool as well and have found it to work really well. The generative fill in the Beta pretty much works the same way, only using a loose lasso selection on the object you want to remove rather than the brush. Of course it can generate things that were never there as well, which I know most wildlife photographers would not do, but it does work very well as a removal tool. I have been binging many of your videos as I am just getting into wildlife photography. Your channel is a wealth of information and I appreciate your approach to coaching, reviewing equipment and your love for wildlife.
Thanks for this video. It very much helps my understanding of the various removal tools. The use of the radial mask for curves adjustment was a revelation for me.
I started using the remove tool when it was just in the beta version. Found it to be very good, but finicky. It will be fun to see where it goes from here.
The remove tool is excellent in most cases. But the Generative tool in the beta is exceptionally good at removing backgrounds. Eeriely good. Together with Lightroom’s Denoise, AI is transforming my processing experience. Shooting hummingbirds at ISO 12800 on a mft sensor, the clean and sharp results are beyond my comprehension.
