This was so so useful!! As a smaller creator, I was wrapping my head around whether or not I should accept a gifting collaboration with a brand that I’ve always wanted to work with, and your advice really helped! Thank you so much, subscribed!
The most informative video. I watched so many videos. But still don’t know many things about this business. Also I can’t just spend money on courses or media kits from other UA-camrs until I haven’t experienced yet the bitter sweet of this IG world. Thank you for sharing
Happy that you found this video helpful!! There's always free information to source out while you're getting started! Good luck :) Let me know if you have any unanswered questions
I loved this video! I’m slowly starting to be more consistent here on YT and on Instagram I post a lot but I really want to land more paid collaborations. Thank you 💗💗☺️
could you do a video on how to get your analytics and how to incorporate them into emails to brand/ how to use them to make yourself seem more attractive?
I’m so bummed😭 I literally never get replies from anyone and I don’t get it. I have used a few different templates for emails from other influencers and stuff like that but like wth I don’t get it😭 It’s really bumming me out because I want this to be my life but not joke, I’ve tried everything and I’ve still never been paid for anything😭
I’m in Canada and I write on my invoices that I accept e-transfer, bank transfer, or PayPal. But using PayPal often takes a fee since it is a business transaction. Bank transfers are good, you just submit the same direct deposit information that you would give to an employer :)
what do you think about brands that just give you a 35 % ? and discount for your community ? Reminding you I just got back to do collab from years ago.
Do you know, if the product is gifted, do you have to do the paid partnership label on Instagram? Or can I only use the Invite a Collaborator on the video itself?
You can use the invite collaborator tool without using the paid partnership label and I’d say if it’s a gifted collaboration to disclose the relationship in the caption by using #gifted or just writing “gifted”. Each country may have different disclosure requirements so be sure to check (I’m in Canada) :)
Should you disclose it’s a gifted collaboration on your caption on Tiktok? I’ve seen many creators post and there’s nothing disclosed but it was a partnership
If the brand sends the gift with no strings attached and the creator organically shares about it in their content then no disclosure should be needed but if the brand is asking for a video then this should be disclosed. Lots of creators will still only disclose paid partnerships or only disclose partnerships if the brand has specified that disclosure is necessary. Plus, every country has different rules about what needs to be disclosed so not everyone will be doing the same thing
Hi! Brands will often send me a PDF attachment that has a line sheet, look book, or more info on the specific collaboration so I don’t usually have a problem viewing these attachments. I would assess if I trust that the email is legitimately from the brand or if it’s phishing (spam) and if it’s a link you need to click before you can “download the catalog” hover your curser over the URL and see if at the bottom corner of the screen you can see a preview of the website that it will direct you to (for me I can see this using outlook on my MacBook and I like to read the full URL link first to see if it’s a Google drive link or a website link rather than something strange. You could also tell them that the download did not work and ask if they can submit the catalog into a delivery method that you trust more (Dropbox or other drives) I Hope this helps! It’s good to be cautious about downloads and links :)
Hey thanks so much for your video!! I hope you see this comment! I’ve had a brand reach out to me for a paid collaboration BUT they’re asking me to pay $150 for shipping and it will last the year. Has that ever happened to you?
Hi Vanessa! Collaborations with brands shouldn’t require you to pay at all. I would politely decline or ask them to waive the shipping fee. Also if it’s a brand you aren’t familiar with try looking them up on Reddit or going through their tagged photos of other collabs and DM those creators to ask what their experience was like working with the brand. Hope this helps!!
If you have a PO box then I'd try to get everything sent there for additional privacy but I have always used my home address for collaborations and PR and I haven't had any problems with this :)
Sometimes it can be tricky to know which ones are spam emails but something that has helped me is asking someone who has partnered with the brand if the email you got looks similar or is from the same email address as the person who reached out to them. If you think it could be spam just make sure not to give out any personal info until you've confirmed it's legit! My Instagram is @austynpaula if you're unsure you can send me an email to take a second look at :)
Hi, please help. I got a brand that wants to collaborate with me via Instagram. However, they state that for the first time, sending the items I'll have to pay for shipping insurance. Is that a scam cause I don't think I should be spending money in order to collaborate
Hi Lindy! You definitely shouldn't have to pay a penny to work with a brand. Politely let them know that you're happy to continue with a gifted partnership at their expense and see how they respond! If they push you to pay then move on as it sounds like a scam! Good luck :)
Yes, definitely!! Try reaching out to brands through DMs or email and try different platforms like AspireIQ to find opportunities. I'd also recommend adding your email address in your IG bio so that brands can also reach out to you easier - even if you have the "email" button on your profile, this is only shown on mobile view, not desktop, so brands would have to take extra time to find where to reach you.

Hi,please long term partnership like what...?
Hi My Love,
For clothing brand paid partnership, have you ever heard of them asking you to download a catalog? Or is this a scam ? I need your help 😩💞

I have barely 300 followers but brands have reached out to me
Is this possible??
hey i have a question! when a brand tells me to give them my address do i give them my actual address or my post office address?:))
