Under pressure of Ukrainian troops in Kharkiv region, russians load killed soldiers

  • The determined actions of Ukrainian defenders in the east sow despair among invaders. They are running out of ammunition, there is no air support, and even the injured have to fight. Hence, the only thing left to do is to say goodbye to families and cry from hopelessness.
This is confirmed by the russian occupier’s conversation with his wife, intercepted by the SSU.
‘We can’t keep the defence. Their weapons are too powerful comparing with ours. We requested air support. We were told: ‘no f**king way, hold the defence yourselves, however you want,’ a russian military serviceman says.
Through tears, the man complains of having neither the strength nor the nerve: ‘We have no shells, no weapons, no f**king nothing. The cartridges we got left - each of us has a magazine, damn it.’
His wife assures him that help will come, but the occupier hopelessly replies: ‘F**k knows when these aircraft… and if they reach here. Four [aircraft] flew here - didn’t make it, got shot down for f**k’s sake.’
But the despair and stress that the invaders suffer from are nothing compared to the consequences of the war and crimes committed against Ukrainians.
That’s why our defenders will force out the ruscists from our land till our complete Victory!
    Glory to Ukraine!

That's what separates us from the sociopaths who have committed brutal atrocities in this war. This man cried for "his boys", not wanting to "load them up", presumably in body bags. Nevertheless, suffering, fear of death, and death itself are an inherent part of war.
The Ukrainians are fighting a just war. They are defending their homes and their citizens with the force required.
We can cheer for Ukrainian success without glorying in the pain and suffering of the defeated. This man and "his boys" may die, or they may surrender and be treated humanely. The choice is their own to make.

I am 100% with Ukraine in this war, and even though I am far away, I support the effort as I can. Thus, it is a lot easier for me to say something than someone who has seen their village or city bombed and destroyed.
Still, I would urge Ukrainians to not lose their humanity in the process of kicking Russia out. It *should* be hard to listen to this - that was a grown man reduced to tears by drowning in death all around him, even if he is on the wrong side of this. That man is completely broken.
It doesn't mean Ukraine should stop fighting, and if necessary, finish him off; but if you aren't even a little bit moved by the desperation and depression in a man who likely just spent the last several hours loading the bodies of his dead comrades into a trailer, and is still covered in their blood, then what are you fighting for yourself? If nothing else, seeing that surrender doesn't mean torture and death, but rather an escape, is a powerful tool against the enemy. The more stories of Russian POWs being treated well, fed, clothed, and kept warm will spread. Those cards will suddenly become a lot heavier in their pockets when they are freezing in their trenches.
Don't rejoice in pain, suffering, and death - rejoice with the Ukrainians who have been freed from this occupation, and look forward to those who are still waiting.

@@angelabrennan2454 I understand the desire to teach him a lesson, but at the end of the day, he is just another fighter on the battlefield. Decades from now, it is more than likely that Russians will look back on this invasion as a time of misguidance, just as the Germans did after World War 2. Those who fought in the Nazi Army would later come to regret what happened.
I do not think just because he is the enemy, he should be treated with such disdain. The only people who should be treated as such is those without remorse for their actions. This man clearly is terrified of his situation. We cannot assume that he wants to commit all these war crimes, because not every Russian is like that. Not every individual is like that.
We should condemn Russia and Putin for their horrendous actions, but the common soldier is just doing his job, and I sincerely hope that a Russian surrender comes quickly to spare lives on both sides.
