I have never fixed an electronics device in my entire, very long, life..this worked..you not only saved me money that I don't have to spare, right now, but also a lot of grief..bless you, sweet man!!
I was freaking out so much, asking myself what did I do? The tablet was working one second and then it wasn't! Readjusting the screen connector cable was the trick, thank you a million times!
Thank you so much man. This was exactly what was wrong with mine. I could get nothing to appear. The previous night it was working fine, next day nothing. I got a kit and opened it and the LCD cable was super loose, I mean the cable had slack in it. I followed your steps carefully and connected it securely. And now the screen shows again. Wonderful, I cannot thank you enough.
mate, you wouldnt believe it. my kids galaxy tab broke ages ago after he dropped it on the floor. its been sat on a shelf for ages. ive just followed you video and found that the screen ribbon was slightly out, just like in your video. after i reseated the cable and plugged the battery back in, worked first time. thank you very much. ive now got one happy boy..
Fell asleep with my tablet last night. Woke up to find my tablet screen dark yet it was obviously still working. Manipulating the buttons did nothing. I was horrified as all my other devices have crapped out and my life was basically on my tablet which had not been automatically backed up in weeks because it was so full of data. A trip to the library found this video online. Thank you very much for posting it as I was quite concerned the problem was much more serious. Applied the fix and I'm up and running again. I won't take the tablet for granted again and have performed a full backup. Hurray!
I tried this for my 10 inch galaxy tab A (older model). I had a black screen of death but the alarm still went off every saturday morning. His method worked! I took the back off with a small plastic ply bar that i got from newegg. Once i got the back off, i disconnected and reconnected the "cable" to the battery which didnt work. Then i disconnected and reconnected the main line (the big one), and I was able to turn the tablet on normally. Saved me a bunch of money paying someone else to do this. Thank you!!!!!
Thank you.. My wife took the table in to repair since the screen did not come on.. The repair place wanted to charge $130 US for a new screen. I say "No Deal". Then I stumble on to your site. Thank you! Your solution worked! Awesome.. and thanks for saving me $300!
i thought my tablet was busted, but i decided to give your tutorial a try and as soon as i tightened the display cable as you suggested it came right back to life. Thank you, it was very helpful and money saving too!
Bro... I do not know who you are or care... you saved my Tablet. Watched, listened and learned. You are awesome. Thank you for being very specific with the model number/type. My tablet slipped off my bed, bounced twice on its corners in a leather case. Screen blank but I could hear and feel it on. When I finally got the case off (nerve-racking... using credit cards) I pushed in the same long cable/wire... and bingo! Thanks again!!! I taped the cable down with a piece of scotch tape. Hope this will not create a heat problem.
Your a genius Sorin. My Tab A even had an extra piece of tape holding this connector, but that didn't solve the problem of the connector coming loose. Many thanks!
Thanks - Same problem here - I knew it was working as I could access it via QuickSupport - but I didn't realise how easy it was to open and re-seat both cables. All fixed in under 5 minutes - and no damage to the screen!
Dude you saved me from buying a totally new screen. I mean I I nearly clicked buy and I decided to repair/troubleshoot myself first. Now have a brand new working tablet no more black screen.
Tablet been sitting in a box for 3 years I'm glad I didn't get rid of it and decided to try to fix it. This worked perfectly thanks a lot. Removing and replugging battery and lcd connector did the trick
Thank you for this video! I have a Galaxy Tab A 2016 that I use daily, mostly to draw on but for various games and the whatnot as well. This morning, black screen, it makes the charging sound and the pen removed sound but nothing else. Im beside myself, the warranty is up, and I didnt get the extra protection, a quick google brought me to your video, had my husband (computer engineer) follow your steps and its working perfectly. The cable for the video had come loose, and it was hung up on some program or something, which was solved with a pull of the battery. It would have gathered dust for who knows how long without your help, thank you again.
I called 4 electronics repair places today, they all said they dont touch Android devices. Found your video and tried it on my Samsung Tab A, 10 inch. I have a screen that works again, THANK YOU! Ps. This was started by my hitting the screen, though it didn't crack. :-)
Genius thank you! First time I tried it, it didn't work. It seems I wasn't able to get the video cable in all the way (even though I thought I had). I was frustrated but after reading comments I was sure this was the solution, so I tried again. 2nd attempt I noticed that there is a dotted white line that lines up with a line on the board. I inserted it and kept pushing until it lined up. Bingo! Works great. Thanks again!
Samsung need to check their quality assurance with this model. Last year I bought one from Curry's (brand new sealed). I turned it on and the display had problems. Took it back straightaway and swapped for another, which I open and booted instore. That model was fine, and I am using it to watch this video and post this reply. Great demo on how simple it is to open.
Thank you so much, followed your instructions and it worked, the wires had slipped so pushed back in and screen came on. Thank you appreciate your channel.
Worked perfectly. I knew it was a backlight problem as I could see what was on the screen if I shone a torch onto it obliquely. Once I'd got it opened the cable was only out by about 1mm but that was enough to stop the screen from lighting up. Pushed back in tightly and it's working fine. Thanks again.
Thank you sir. Your troubleshooting video worked like a spell on my daughter's Galaxy Tab A tablet. It was exactly the same problem. I've also placed new pieces of tape to better secure connections to a screen cable. Now it work absolutely fine.
First we tough we broke the tabled by sitting on it and it stopped working but i tryed to reconnect the batterij cable and it worked thank you for helping others you are the best
Thanks so much man. My best friend purchased this tablet as a gift last year. It stopped working and I blamed my younger child lol... I thought screen got ruined. My birthday is on Friday and this morning I ran across the tablet and I decided to just google. Found your video looked at it once and decided not to go for it... few minutes later I said F it. Took a regular flat head screw driver popped the bitch open and did exactly what you did here. It didn’t work at first but I kept pushing in the screen connector and it F%**ing worked ! Thank you!!!
Replaced a shattered screen that showed an image on a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (2019). The new screen wasn't showing an image, and the backlight would flicker on restart. So I thought the new screen was just bad and I got an exchange... Same problem. Stumbled on this video, and you wouldn't believe how similar the Galaxy Tab A from 2016 is to the Tab 10.1 (Even the original screen says Tab A on the back of it) so I went and undid all the screws and got to the back of the board, sure enough, although the cable is slightly different then the Tab A, it was the same issue, the cable was slightly out despite being in there firm. Thanka for the video !
YO OMG. The tablet was making charging sounds but the screen wasn’t responding. Took out that ribbon and put it back in - nothing. Took out that charger cable and screen started after pressing the power button! saved me so much ££ so thank you so much
Thank you so so much!! My screen was very dark/black, but tablet seem to be working, i fixed it myself in less than an hr- taking cover was the hardest, and most gentile at the same time. I’ve not dropped it, just stopped working and now it does!😊 thanks to You, you’ve saved me overpaying for probably botched job. I did it myself with your help, thank you ever so much🙂🙂🙋🏼♀️🇵🇱
Massive thank you you legend! LCD was a little loose, reconnected it and still didn't work but disconnecting the battery like you did the trick and shes back up and running again, cheers man 👍
My tablet fell from a bunk bed and wouldn’t turn on. I I followed your videos slowly and carefully and my tablet is back on. thank you so much for uploading this video.
Can't thank you enough for this video same thing happened to my daughter tablet and here we were gonna pay sprint to fix it when all it was is this simple mishap. Thank you again. You rock!
Thank you for this video! I just happened to have the exact same problem with my Galaxy Tab A (SM-T585): screen cable was just a little bit off inside and screen stayed black because of that. I followed the instructions here and now the tab is working again.
Thank you. I made one last attempt and stumbled across your video. The tablet just out of warranty that was on it's way to the trash is back up and running. Mine was the battery ribbon cable. Have subscribed too.
Thanks you!!! My Samsung Tab S 10.5 had fallen. It still made sounds and did fibrate when I phused buttons, but totally no screen. The screen cable (orange) was a bit out. I phused it back and after that I my screen was working fine again! You are the hero of the month!!

What tool did he use to test if the USB connection was providing a charge? My son's Tab A is doing this exact thing but I'd like to test to see if there is charging going on. Thanks.
