I just took in my samsung tablet to replace a cracked screen but after I got it back the screen is now dimmer and the contrast is way too high.
The cracked screen looked perfect, brightness, color and contrast wise.
Is it the screen itself, or did the tech screw up?
Are there different types of generic screens for the Tab A or just one type/brand?
Any idea what could cause that?

I love the fact that you also mentioned that this is different to the one that comes with the S-pen, which has an additional connector on the side. It won't cause confusion when one has to buy a new replacement screen.

I was told by Phone repair company representatives 150 US Dollars to change this Table screen.
wouldnt recommend at that price, due to the age of the tablet
Maybe i can change it myself after watching this over 17 minutes of video.
Aslong as you know the risks
Im desparately trying to fix mine as ive got passwords trapped on it and a tax return to submit....the damn replacement digi screen wont work but does random things like moving the icons around the homescreen and dropping down the top screen, none of which respond to being touched.
I guess my only option is to buy another screen n try again?
......or try to fly 10,000km back home as thats the only way to get a new password. :(
sounds like the replacement touch panel is faulty
If it's urgent I would recommend seeing a local repair store
@@rickstechrepairs ive taken it to 4 so far. They couldnt work it out so im doing it....blind as a bat! If another screen doesnt cure it ill havt to fly back to the hellhole formerly known as england cos they only mail passwords to the business address!

@@rickstechrepairs haa ha! Ive got it up n working! After initially finding bugger all on yt im now swamped with T580 vids and i spotted a fault with the lcd cable....but only after buying an S7 to watch them on.
Looks like shes getting an early birthday prezzie as this S7 is junk compared to my old T580.
You should watch other "how to videos" to see how its actually done then try again. This was painful to watch.

Hi Rick. I have a question about the screen. A few seconds after turning on the tablet, the vertical lines of the screen move upper and flick. Would I need to replace my LCD display or can I find a way to fix this problem by myself?

I've the same tablet which you're fixing right now. My tablet's touch screen doesn't work. I just want to change the touch screen in a cheap way by myself. I've some important data's on that tablet which i want to transfer at my new device and then i don't have any use of that. How much will it cost to get a new touch screen? Can i purchase it via from websites? If yes then what is the model/size of that screen? Can i change only touch screen without changing the display? Or they both are same?? Hello. My P580 has this really horrible flickering. It started with just some white/black lines on the right side of the screen (horizontal) torelable, no problem. But the whole screen is now flickering. Can this be fixed replacing something?

Hey. I've exactly same. Though it was Screen Digitizer which I replaced it last year. So bought another screen digitizer, while putting it up, realized that the black screen was still showing crack screen but it's not physically cracked. put the new screen digitizer, now no screen at all :) when I put into charging, I hear bip bip as in it's taking the charger alright... should I replace the whole screen you reckon? thanks

How do I now if I need to exchange the whole thing or just the glass infront? My glass is broken and I want replace it and everything seems to work so I guess it's only the glass fron I need to replace? Is there a way to do it without a heat map or is that manditory?
heat is needed to swap, be it from a heat mat, or a hair dryer

Thanks Rick. This was a tough job getting the base and the glass separated. The video guide and tips about heating the device, etc, made this possible and saved the Tab.

that will usually need micro soldering to replace
if you are lucky you can put tape on the FPC cable and slide it in to the slot and it may work that way

Hi there ive had this exact same tablet since 2016 and yesterday it fell off my bed the screen instantly went all coloured lines and keeps flashing but its not smashed. i can still hear it when i get notifications how do i fix this ? is it worth getting it fixed or shall i just buy a new one the only thing i am upset about is my apps and my photos on it

A 2016 model of tablet.. unless the parts are cheap and you have a use for it, i cant really recommend to repair
You can connect it to a computer and transfer all your pictures to it.

I have just replaced the LCD and digitiser but its dead. Are there a lot of dodgy parts kicking around or is it more likely i have screwed up?
i would be checking connections on it.
Also connect to a pc to see if it gets detected (meaning it would be powered up)
