Muse are Queen's successors. Undefinable in terms of genre, but constantly putting out great albums which always reinvent their sound and push the boundaries.
Yeah, there are three Muse tracks where the Queen influence shows the most, this one from The Resistance, Survival on The 2nd Law which you've already heard and Defector from Drones. Also that extra outro (+Collateral Damage) they added is a cover of Chopin's famous Nocturne Op.9 No.2. There is another cover on this album, in I Belong to You of "Mon coeur s'ouvre à ta voix" from french composer Camille Saint-Saëns. These plus the Exogenesis Symphony make this by far their most classically inspired album.
I first heard this song in about 6 parts, they released it as part of a worldwide treasure hunt, there were clues put up online that fans figured out with locations given to usb's which released 30 seconds of the song, it was such a fun way to release a song and i still chat to some of the people online who did the treasure hunt
Great reaction. Some songs in The Resistance were inspired by George Orwell's book 1984(uprising,resistance and this one iirc), but the album as a whole is not a conecpt album as far as i know, Drones however was definetely made to listen in order from start to finish.
Do you know the new track already leaked earlier today pahahha I think the videos director put it on his Vimeo but as public instead of private and Reddit instantly ripped it.. i love it. You'll love it
Agreed, although I don't think this song is that bad, nowhere near as bad as Uprising. The previous three albums were way better. This album to me is when they completely lost their balls and went (almost) full-on commercial. So disappointing after the brilliant Black Holes & Revelations.
@jC3drums LOL, almost none of the Resistance is commercial except for Uprising and Undisclosed Desires tracks. Unnatural Selection, United States of Eurasia, Exogenesis Symphony, MK Ultra are all opposites of commercial music...
The end of that track, with the kids playing while the jets close in to attack, chills every time
Sounds more like jets taking off but okay
I mean, it is called Collateral Damage...so...they're involved in some way

You forget Knights of Cydonia! Clearly Queen influence there!
Ah good to know I wasn’t going crazy thinking I’ve heard. that piece before!

Very cool! Creative marketing by them.
The closing outro of this track is the Nocturne in E flat major by Frederick Chopin. Opus 9 number 2
Muse has a amazing selection of B tracks that didn't make albums (that should have) -
Try muse - eternally missed
Muse - easily
To start!

Ah gotcha.
In overall it is a concept album with themes and even a love story as Bellamy says before
This song is so good. I've never heard a song like it.

Wait really? Damn, is it good enough I should still wait till Thursday or do I need to hear it now?
@@willeh1947 its not what I expected. But it is a real grower, I would wait until thurs and listen to as intended
@@c-st4r I’ll wait. Just tell me is it their “pop-track” of the album like I was expecting for a single, with they heavy stuff saved for later?
@@willeh1947 yes it is.
@@c-st4r yes I agree after first listen I wasn't so sure but after multiple listens I really dig it, the bass line is so cool.
La parte del final siempre me hace sacar unas lagrimas
The new single has been leaked and I'm very excited too see what you think of it
Your reactions are great but you're really missing out on live performances!
Thanks! For first listen through I prefer the studio version.
@@gmetzgermusic Fair enough!
Muse (those hacks) are about to get sued for copyright infringement
Not really a fan of this song, this album has some great tracks but is where they started going downhill for me.

Uprising is a quality track
