  • Happy Friday everyone! My classes have final exams last week, and during the review session yesterday one of my students solved this integral. After looking over his excellent work I decided to solve it here for you all. How would you rate the difficulty level of this problem on a scale of 1-10? Let me know in the comments!
If you need to review for any upcoming final exams, be sure to check out the rest of the videos on my channel which are all organized into playlists.

7/10 in terms of spicy, especially if you don't remember the first completing the square step, and then manually doing sec^3 also takes some work. Lengthy more than spicy IMO. Thank you!!

You’re so welcome! ☺️ Thanks for the idea. And I agree, more lengthy than spicy in this case.

    Dear Prof V I completed the square and let (x+2) = 2sec(p) and it got to 1/2*( sqrt( (x+2)^2 - 4 )/2 )*( (x+2)/2) - ln( (x+2)/2 +sqrt( (x+2)^2 - 4 )/2 ) + C Let me enjoy the video.
