- Got a second chance to check this one out! First time I didnt have much time. This place is awesome! So big and really cool looking! Glad to see its in awesome shape.. wish knew more of the history about the larger buildings. What are those circles for? Guns?
I hope you are doing ok, it's been a long time! Always loved your videos!
Miss you all!
Wow. Amazing stuff! Great video. The military wastes so much stuff after they're finished with it.
You should see what the locals leave on Kapa Quary rd. Whole engine blocks and bags of waste when there's a turn in center right around the corner.
So after WW1 the Military became obsessed with defensive positions. These are probably post pearl harbor and were likely either meant to defend the nearby base, or to be hiked over to for either training to construct defensive positions or training to clear then occupy the positions.
Do you need military access to find these bunkers?
yes
Where this place at
Do you still go hiking ?
unfortunately I got a job working graveyard shift so all I do now during the day is sleep!! almost 3 years of no hikes.... I miss the trails so much! Thanks for watching!! One day when I get a vacation ill hike somewhere!!
@@howzitboy come back to us Howzitboy!
The "circles" held 12" mortars. You can see the original plans for Battery Housbrouck at www.fortwiki.com/Battery_Hasbrouck and there's a web page that has a photo of the same type of mortar that sat there: www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1066751
Thanks Donna K! those guns would have been awesome to see in person! so huge!!
wait, where are these bunkers at?
at the dog park to the right of Hickam beach. you'll see it as soon as you drive up
