Hi, Thank you for your excellent videos. I didn’t have a suitable hook tool to unclip the upper trim. Initially tried a modified “Ty-wrap” cable tie, it worked one side but not the other. I found by pulling down the lower trim you can insert a length of wooden dowel to push the upper trim out of its clips on each side.

Guys, if you have the Emergency Manual Trunk Release on the inside portion of the Trunk Lid, I figured it out monkeying with it today. The "glow-in-the-dark" cover of the lever comes off the black thicker section of the lever, revealing a torx screw. Unscrew, then you should be able to pull off the handle and the trim will come off.

Hey there. Thank you, much appreciated! We're focusing on the B6 and B7 A4/S4 and RS4 platforms at present, but intend to expand to cover further models. A3 8P would be a popular model and worth covering next. There are several forums which discuss mods for this car. Quite often there are comments on how to remove this or that etc. There are 3 versions of the 8P and the third one being the 2008 facelift model, which means upgrading to facelift spec is a popular trend for '03-'08 A3s. I've seen more discussion on these types of mods than A4 mods but probably because i have an A3.
Awesome - exactly the kind of feedback and comments we like :-) Yes, we're considering the A3 8P actually. I know we'll be covering a load of content for the C5 RS6 soon in addition to all of the A4 B6/B7 content, but definitely considering the A3 8P as a prime model to cover. We're still quite new and trying really hard. It takes a lot of time and resources (and therefore money!) to keep the channel running and its success will depend upon the support we get and the views we reach on UA-cam etc. Have have some great plans and ideas for ways to expand, we just need the support in place. Baby steps, but so far we're doing pretty well :-)
Hello! I've got everything off except the two corners close to the window where you used the hook. I tried hook, hand, everything, and pulled as hard as I possibly could. It just did not want to come off whatsoever. Is there a way to maybe loosen it from the inside?
Hey there! That's a tricky one. Maybe it has been glued back into place?? Try to pop the clips out on the back end and shine a torch up in there and see if you can spot anything obvious that might be causing it from not moving. Hpefully you'll spot the issue, and can work around it. Good luck!
Similar problem too. Have yanked with force down the same angle as window but no luck. Is the hook supposed to lock onto to anything else besides the trim behind the what's visible?
Hi, I'm having trouble removing the tailgate trim from my A4 Avant B8 2011 model. It's the one without a tool kit space, just a long rectangular space for the emergency triangle. 2 screws under the triangle, 2 screws in the rear main light cavities. 6 clips all released. the book lock seems to be holding the whole trim onto the car now but for the life of me I cannot find a way to release the lock cover and see if there's another screw underneath. Any advice gratefully accepted.
Hey there. We are currently focusing on the A4/S4/S4 B6 and B7 platforms, so would be unable to offer advice for the B8 I'm afraid. Very sorry about that :-(
Hi, do you have a video or procedure for troubleshooting the S4 B8 Avant rear washer system? When I activate the washer, I can hear the pump noise, but no water spraying out.
Hey there! In most cases this is most likely the rear jet being blocked. You should try gently unblocking it using a pin and see if water starts to come out. I had this exact issue (i.e. can hear pump but no water on rear washer) twice recently, and both times it was the blocked rear jet, and easily fixed. If you are unluckly the pipe could have become detached inside the car, but you usually notice this as you get wet carpet under the floor mats. More likely is block rear washet nozzle/jet. Best of luck!
Hey there I've not done anything with a Passat for quote some time unfortunately. The process should be similar, but naturally there may well be some variations. If you take your time you should be able to work it out stage by stage as the basis should certainly be the same, but clips and screw positions etc likely to vary. Best of luck!

+1 on this. I've managed to get4 of the clips off with a screwdriver wrapped in elec tape (after removing 4no screws). I can't get a good purchase on the rear to get the rest off though.
Well, assuming it's not been broken and glued back together in the pas or anything unusual, then you can try gently pushing a small flathead screwdriver down the outer edge (you can see the hole in the side and the metal pin inside that's stopping it coming out. When you push the screwdriver down it will loosen it up and that should do it. Be careful as they can get brittle with age. But yes, they are sometimes in there pretty tight!!
