  • We will go through how you can easily turn a mundane cotton glove into a monster hand, perfect for your next character. In the tutorial I will show you how to extend fingers that are a posable and bendable. Show how to paint an octopus sea creature style hand. All this using only a few supplies.

    Instead of making it over your real hand you can create a fake hand by pouring plaster in a kitchen glove. Remember to put metal wires inside the fingers to reinforce them.

    Very cool, I was thinking of making a clay sculpture of a monster hand then brushing latex on top to make the glove. Do you think the latex will remain stable when I try to take it off?

      @CrisAlex  Рік тому

      Thank you! Yeah that would absolutely work! The trick will be figuring out how thick the latex you would need. Larger details will need more layers to help hold the structure than softer details. I would lean closer on the heavier side so it doesn’t collapse. If you do have a problem with something not holding its shape could always stuff a little cotton in those areas. Making it still comfortable to wear.

    is it necessary to use a cotton glove or can it be a latex glove?

    • @CrisAlex
      @CrisAlex  Рік тому +1

      Definitely can use a different type of glove. A latex glove may have issues with certain things staying attached like the foam clay. Would just recommend testing it before so you know how the materials act on the glove.

    Could you have done all foam clay instead of liquid latex? Or would it break/split on movement?

    • @CrisAlex
      @CrisAlex  Рік тому +1

      I have not put it to the full test but yes I would be concerned about the foam clay breaking down in areas of a lot of movement.

      @@CrisAlex Thanks! I'm looking to make a demogorgan glove, or maybe a prop, so I'm experimenting with what I've got. Luckily, it's how I found your channel. 😄

    Great Glove! Why exactly do you use prosaide mixed with the acrylic?

    • @CrisAlex
      @CrisAlex  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Adding the prosaide is to give the acrylic paint more flexibility and helps prevent cracking.

      @CrisAlex excellent! What ratio ? How much prosaide

    • @CrisAlex
      @CrisAlex  Рік тому +1

      @@dancermadchen77 You want a 50/50 mix of the paint and prosaide
