What’s most impressive with Tisas 1911’s is their lack of cast parts at an affordable price unlike my Dan Wesson 1911 Guardian which is semi custom, machined parts with a price tag of $1600+
tisas been killing lately
Killer guns!
Tisas has done no such "killing" that you speak of.. LOL.
Just purchased one for 620 can’t wait to pick it and test it out.
I own a Tisas 45 Acp milspec 5 inch full size.
Cerakoted.. very nice gun. Shot around 260 rounds thru it l. Had Zero feed, jams, Stove pipes or any Other Negative issues.
Naturally everyone watching your channel would love a long-term evaluation down the road. I hope it gives you many years of flawless service!
With my Magnum Research 1911, it came with 2 Mecgar mags - after about 30 rounds, I started getting double feed issues. Sent it back to them and they said they "fixed it" by replacing the extractor, but I was still having the same issues for me at the range. Did a little diggin' and saw that Chip McCormick mags fixed that problem for a lot of people. Bought a couple 10 and 8 round CMC mags and haven't had any issues since.
Chip McCormick mags are my favorite. I have several.
Over 40 years of shooting 45ACP 1911's - McCormack magazines have never failed me. Stainless mags are a bit harder and won't bulge over time like blue steel.
Good advice. I've had somewhat spotty experience with Mec-Gar magazines. In the CZ-75 platform, they have been flawless performers. However, in the 1911 platform, they have been inconsistent. They're either flawless or persnickety. McCormacks are great, but frequently in short supply. Checkmates have been 100% reliable for me, though some people despise them.
Can you do another video of this . I just bought the same gun yesterday . Your like the only stingray 45 video around. Well thats worth watching
I'm sure it will find its way back onto the channel. Lots of projects coming up.
6:58 for me I could do without the front strap check for the price, what two features had me in awe was the undercut done to the trigger guard and the bobtail. Two things that you have to seek out to get work done to it
That is awesome. Tisas is getting better and better.
I have an Ed Brown, Wilson, and a Dan Wesson oil. I bought one of these as a good around gun. Well, it was surprising. It's a nice pistol. Not blended, the trigger is a little but scratchy, and I did put a full-length guide rod in it. I; 'm keeping it and will carry it.
Carrying is what its ment for!😊
So, your purchase inspired me. I decided to pick up a Tisas Raider. I love it!
Sorry, not sorry!
Great video! I bought a Tisas Yukon in 10mm last week. I took it to the range 3 days ago and ran 150 rounds of assorted FMJ and JHP from Underwood and Hornady and only had one failure to feed and that was from a Kimber mag that I had.
I had to go get my other glasses and a new hearing aid battery to watch this video... 😉👌
From 9:45 on, it looks like a branch or leaf is waving at you just above the chamber. 👋
Glad you made it!
Was impressed with the Tisas pistols at the IV8888 shoot. Will probably be my next 1911. 45 AARP...that cracked me up! I always have folks joke me when I post up 1911 photos over on IG. This Stingray looks so similar to the Wilson Combat with those grips. Yea not sure what the deal was with that one mag, but glad the pistol is running solid! What a gorgeous 1911!
I'm not familiar with Tisas but I have to say I am very impressed. I really like the finish on both of your Tisas 1911's.
You and me both!
Very nice pick up as she looks really pretty....Working well too....Good stuff....
Right on Scott!
This is a pretty slick looking 45AARP.
Much agreed!
Just got the Devil Ray .45. yesterday. Looks just like yours but all steel vs. the aluminum frame of yours. Little heavier but also $150 less
The 8rd mag looks ridiculous with bobbed tail. It needs a 7rd mag to not “print”. 😊
Picking mine up on Tuesday, just cuz my FFL is closed on Monday. This one has been on my short list for a good minute. Nice vid.
Enjoy that new pistol!
Mine was a jammomatic my first range trip but seems to have broken in after a couple of range trips. Mine also only works with quality hardball and the original factory mags. Extremely accurate and excellent trigger.
When new they love to run "wet"
@@azlefty1 I did sauce it up with CLP and noticed a huge difference. Couldn't make it jam on the second range trip.
Hi Pat - I came close to buying one a months or so ago. It definitely had a great feel. Now it looks like I'll have to get one afterall!😆
Nice pick up
Absolutely!
Hey scotsman
I bought a Tisas Raider in .45acp about a year ago and absolutely love it. Been debating on adding the Stingray or Devil Ray to my CCW collection.
I worked for Kimber for 13 years, they've made many turds indeed. I started buying TISA's 1911 and can't believe the quality of the machining. And delivers awesome performance for the $$$$$
Man this is my carry gun love it
I've had good luck with most Turkish 1911 clones and like a rounded butt such as found on a S&W 39, but I've never cared for the aesthetics of the slant bobbed cut. I'm glad you like it.
Those serrations are beautiful and straight off the SW1911SC and i regret selling that pistol every single day. A scandium framed 1911 was an absolute joy to carry but a bear to shoot. One of the most beautiful firearms ive ever owned and im an idiot for selling it.
Great looking 1911 👍
Pat. Nice gun. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Sweet looking gun thanks for the video. I’d love to have that in my collection too.😊
Love my Stingray!!
Just got one, real special price of 399.00. Have to get out to the range with 200 rounds of ball ammo.
PAT, I LOVE THIS GUN!!!! IM GETING ONE AS SOON AS I CAN GET TO MY FFL DEALER!! THANKS FOR VIDO!! HOWARD M.😊🙃😀👍👍👍👍
Pat, im geting mined today!!!!aaaaaaaaaaaaaa👍👍👍👍😍cool!! 4/18/2024
*further note with the editor I have an old GI mag that will feed the fist one, allow gun to eject that case, yeet the second round out the gun and let it feed and chamber the third one. You get 3 bangs out of a full magazine.
40 S&W should be called aarp since it's being retired while 45acp keeps on ticking. :) I would prefer that gun with a steel frame.
I'm seriously considering getting a 10mm Tisas, good video. I have a issue with "reviewers" that throw a aftermarket mag in the gun for the first shots... Do it all you want, after you prove it works with the mags that come with the pistol. Just sayin 👍👍
2 of the 3 mags were factory. The first mag was of the same manufacture.
You mean tisas Jamomatic Mine always jams on last round. Every single time.
You are not alone. I am working through some FTF issues with a TISAS Night Stalker.
Leaning towards replacing the extractor with a Wilson Combat.
I am thinking hard on this one, or the Devil Ray carry. What is the weight on this gun? Also, does this have a ramped barrel, or do cartridges slam on the frame. If no ramped barrel, is your frame showing wear?
Cool !
Yeehaw!
Nice pistol! 🤟🇺🇸
Does it have a ramped barrel or a standard 1911 barrel?
Try their 10mm D10. Great budget 10mm gun.
I have my eyes on the 10mm!
Me have truglo tfxpro on blaster. Work good, much contrast big tough.
BOught the wife a stingray 9mm a few months ago; I now have on in 45 and just got a full size devil ray. My opnly issue is they shoot low for mr BUT sao does my SR1911 so thats my eyes.
Great video! I am curious what you traded in at the LGS for the new pistol. ❤ u bro
I put some various accessories on consignment.
PAT, I ORDERED A STING RAY 1911 45 acp. on 4/13/2024 for $609.99!! GOT A NEW " TISAS MANTA RAY " 1911 45acp. A REAL NICE GUN FOR $525.00!! MY NEXT TISAS IS THE " TISAS DEVIL RAY " IN 1911 45acp. I'LL LET YA KNOW HOW THINGS TURN OUT LATER BROTHERMAN! THANKS FOR REVIEW'S & VIDEOS, STAY SAVE BRO, & GOD BLESS !! YOUR FRIEND ~~Howard Markham~~4/14/2024😊🙃😊👍👍👍👍😍😎🤟🤘🤠👍
.45 AARP 😅 you just earned a subscriber.
Glad to have you here!
I have the even more geriatric 9mm Luger version 😁
I have the 9mm Tank Commander and I dig it!
Love the serrations. Maybe weigh a steel fram 1911 compared to this aluminum framed stingray loaded and unloaded. Nobody carries unloaded and almost everyone weighs firearms unloaded.
You happen to know what size sights are that will work with this gun i have it in 9mm an love it just wanna change out the sights but not sure the size for the front an back
Where to buy magazines for them and will it accept any 1911 45 caliber magazine
Yes it will take almost Amy 1911 mags. Wilson combat in these and they feed like a dream with no issues
Ahhhh man, thank you I just went today to buy one but in my liberal state I have to wait 14 days to get it out of jail.
Is the barrel ramped
Ironic that the mag with the second amendment on it failed 😂
Bought this exact gun in February. I've had so many malfunctions. Always on the last round. I've adjusted the extractor, swapped mags. I have a few tisas's and this stupid stingray won't run well enough to carry it. If I can't get min 500 rounds without a malfunction I won't carry it.
Have you reached out to SDS Imports?
Met Gar mags are hit and miss sometimes good sometimes bad.
You can't join aarp until you're 60 years old Pat.
I have gotten the hotel discounts by joking about being an AARP member!
Its 2023.... we've all aged 20 years in the last 2.
Actually as soon as I turned 50 I started getting the AARP mail!
I think it's age 55, I'm 72 and can't really remember for sure but I think it's 55...
Turkey makes some great guns that are way nicer than their price implies. I have 3 Caniks and love them, especially the Rival which I find myself grabbing to take to the range over guns that cost twice as much or more. I have a SAR B6P9C which is basically a CZ75 compact w/ a polymer frame, it's very well made and was only 299 bucks. I also have a Turkish over-under 12 gauge that came with 22 inch turkey barrels and a set of 9 inch barrel extensions for water fowl. It was like 275 bucks and is actually quite decent.
They work great.... but I have an issue with them imitating a Wilson combat product/Ed Brown product......the quality is'nt the same.
Isn't every nineteen eleven clone an imitation of a Colt?
@@ericearley3146 isn't every colt 1911 a Browning (technically)
Now you are talking my language.
Yeehaw!
WHATS IN THE BOX 😂
What's in the box?!?!?
@@PatRMG 🥲😉
What's up Pat
Nice little .45. I’m in Canada and our liberal dictator prime minister had a freeze on hand guns. Can’t buy, sell, or transfer. Meaning if I don’t stay a law abiding license gun owner they are up for seizure and destruction. I’ll never pass down heirlooms as passed to me.
Anyways. I bought a cheap $300 cdn Norinco 9mm 1911 years ago. Test bed pistol to see if I would like one and then invest in a top quality gun. It’s funny a lot of new shooters love that 1911 I introduce them too. It hates blazer aluminum but otherwise runs no issue. Now I watch UA-cam and cry when I see a gorgouse 1911 or any pistol I know I won’t ever be able to own. But I love the levers and that brought me to the channel because as of right now still no new laws against those in Canada’s liberal dictatorship
Is tisas better than eaa?
Bro i am turkısh Esad girsan better quality
The .45 AARP is a model of cartridge that combat veterans who are not fuds, because fuds know so much they can just look like they have been shot, they don't need a gun, lol cxan use, in part because of the gigantic iron sights on the weapon. They will never miss, but young people will not be able to hit the broad side of a barn, if they even know what a barn is. YES, I AM LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME.
Tea Sauce?
So I guess if .45acp is AARP.... that would make the .30-06 a steam age trebuchet and the .45-70 a Medieval mace. 😁
Interesting fact, the 9mm (9x19 Parabellum, Luger, NATO) predates the .45acp by 3 years.
Stay on the right side of the law and one does not have to worry about Cancer.
This review is very MOIST after all the gushing...
Hahahaha!
I saw Pat's and it pushed me over the edge to pick up a Raider for @piglet_tactical. 🐷 We love it! Probably going to pick up this Stingray too now.
45 AARP😂😂😂
I kid! I kid!
@@PatRMG I loved it..truth may hurt some
Aarp😂
It’s just a flesh wound
I've been looking for a new CC. I'm thinking about the 9mm version
When did the lead start causing cancer?😂
The human body prefers lead over calcium and stores it in the bones if my information is correct.
@@PatRMG it makes sense, considering that the human body loves minerals like iron, zinc, and magnesium
The only difference between the short guide rod in the long guide rod is a little bit more recoil in the shorter one. It’s really not that big of a deal.😂if your actual a man your prolly gonna like the extra slap😂
Gonna have a little more recoil with the lighter aluminum frame too.
@@PatRMG very true I didn’t catch that part
