Ye ek TVS diode hai dost. Ye high voltage spikes se circuit ko bachata hai. iski jagah yahi lagao. Waise iske bina bhi circuit kaam kar sakta hai, lekin agar koi high voltage spikes aayi to circuit kharab ho jayega...
You have made the power supply current limit threshold higher than 2 amperes, so that it can handle the inrush current of a cold bulb, which draws more than 2 amperes. A 2 amperes bulb draws 2 amperes when hot and glowing, but when switched on the first time, it is cold and it will draw much more than 2 amperes for a fraction of a second. The power supply design was correct with 0.62 ohms, and it was able to deliver 2 amperes successfully as it could hold the bulb in on condition once hot. With 0.33 ohms, the protection point has shifted to about 4 amperes. This is not good for the long term safety and reliability of the SMPS, it will now try to deliver 4 amperes if a load requiring 4 amperes is connected, and it will overload the remaining components of the SMPS as explained by you at the end of the video.
Yes, you are absolutely right brother. But the customer to whom I was sending those SMPS had to drive the same bulb and wanted to fix this blinking problem. So I used this remedy as I know he will not use more than 2A load. It was just a fix for his problem not a regular practice.

That blue capacitor is a class Y capacitor. Its job is to suppress any high frequency noise from the output line. Even if you remove it, your SMPS will still work as normal but now it will not be able to remove that noise from the output power line.
Sir...thank u for another informative vid. Reducing the ohmic value of CS resostance down to half of designed value will enhance the o/L trip lavel to the dpuble of the designed level. If CS value be reduced just by 15%, it would have enhance trip value not over 2.3 Amp. Pl note every one. 📈 21:18

Salam, interesting video and thanks for the warnings ! From my experience, car bulbs like you are using take much more amps than rated at startupt, then they regulate. Maybe that was the situation, where the PSU has nothing wrong, the resistor is of good value, just the load exceeds at startup its rated current. It would have been interesting to monitor this with the MAX Amp fonction of the multimeter, i am sure it would have been more than 2 Amps.

CAN you please shed light on what these capacitors do ?? And are they needed for operation of the smps ? Wil the smps work without these ??
These capacitor are there just to suppress high frequency noise only. Your SMPS will work even without them.

Sir same esi problem Hui thi 5new adopter kahrede 12v/2amp ke aur warm white Led lagai bus flickering bus mene to ye kiya side close karni thi to 4r7 ka 5w ka resistance lagaya aur current ko limit karke . 5amp kar diya sab safe

Kyuki bulb ka filament garam hone par uski resistance bad jati hai, aur resistance badne se current consumption kam ho jati hai, aur bulb ON ho jata hai dost ❤️👍

Sir SMPS me input aur output fully saperated hota hai, but ek capacitor hota hai jiski ek leg input aur dusri leg output se connect hoti hai, aur jo optocuplor ke thik bagal me hi laga hota hai, please us capacitor ke baare me bataaye
