Who the hell is Hook? Are you referring to Josh Briggs? If so, that would make me feel old because I was 23 when the 2014 Royal Rumble PPV occurred. I was turning 24 in May of that year. I'm 33 now.
@@jodawa2504 I get the joke, but Hook is Taz’ son. He is a few months younger than me (I just turned 25 last month), so he was actually in his freshman year of high school at the time.
I'd say 2015 was worse/more controversial. 2014 was a booking mistake and at least somewhat understandable, considering Batista had just come back. 2015 was WWE actively laughing at the fans. Just look at Bryan being eliminated, Goldust being next out so that "Shattered Dreams" showed on the titantron, and then obviously the whole Roman running riot/Rock debacle. Open to opinions on this one
Oh man I just posted something absolutely similar to your post before reading the comments. But man I’m so happy other people share this opinion. Like as a long time viewer and fan, that was the biggest spit in the face I’ve ever felt. Thats me not even a HUGE Daniel Bryan fan or a HUGE Roman Reigns hater at that time, just the way it went down was just insulting. I’m happy Vince is out of the picture and I hope he stays out for good.
Revisionism. Rey hadn't done anything of note for years and was clearly going through the motions at the time. If he hadn't the crowd wouldn't dare boo him
Rey should be booed and so should Mysterio. Seriously even if you make these people champ who can they put over? So you defeated a 5'8 H0b0 who screams Yes what's the achievement in that?
I remember that Rumble. I had taken some time off from pro wrestling after the end the Attitude Era, and I had just started watching regularly again a few months before this show, and this was actually the first PPV I had watched since I began watching it again. I purchased this PPV specifically because I knew Daniel Bryan was going to win, and I really wanted to see it live. Other than the debacle with Cody at last year's Wrestlemania, I have never been more pissed at a WWE show during my 32 years of watching. I was actually throwing stuff at the tv. I really feel bad for Bautista. He got screwed in all of this. He kinda got blamed and took all the flack for it, but it wasn't his fault. He expected a hero's welcome for his return, but got booed out of the building. WWE should have called an audible when they saw how popular Danielson was getting. There were plenty of interesting things for them to do with Bautista at the time, instead of making the fans turn on him.
I know that Del Rio is a very despicable person but it's still really sad to see him wrestle in empty high school gyms these days. He used to be one my favorites when i was young.
In my opinion 2015 is WAY more controversial. I actually wasted my time and went back to watch it, and it was way worse than I thought. Started off cool with Bubba Dudley return but it was downhill from there. Daniel Bryan getting eliminated early, then you have Goldust come out next with his “shattered dreams” on the titantron. That was Vince at his peak “FU fans mode”. The way Big Show and Kane who nobody gave af about during that time just threw out the top stars like garbage and were in the final 4 is pathetic. Just to have Roman go all Super Cena and throw them out.
Still hilarious that AEW keeps Rusev around while refusing to do jobs…that literally puts a ceiling over him. But it’s AEW so it’s not at all a surprise. Tony Khan loves to acquiesce wrestler’s bullshit like this lol
Man I really hope sheamus stays. I would completely understand why and still follow him if he chooses another promotion but still that would blow. He was my favorite growing up.
I don't know where the hell these goofballs got that idea from but Sheamus is not leaving the wwe😂😂😂😂 There is literally 0 news or evidence for that, poor speculations 😂😂😂😂
I am glad that H0b0 Bryan is gone from WWE. Now he is also injuring himself and is expected to retire soon. Nothing better could happen to the wrestling business.
Ryback’s been “slagging off the ‘business’”. WWE, yes, but not the whole business. He habitually states how much he LOVES wrestling/the business and rightfully criticises how he was treated in WWE and how others’ lives are destroyed. If you guys actually researched wrestlers’ properly and treated them as human beings instead of looking down at them and getting a perverse pleasure of putting them down whenever you can; you’d come across a lot better.
Everyone on the pre-show/undercard deserves a HoF induction, and even ignoring the repeat wrestlers, more than half of the Rumble competitors are in or deserve to be in the HoF*. Very stacked & talented roster that night * - Unfortunately that includes Khali who doesn't deserve it but was inducted anyway.
Would love to see an episode of this with every Cruiserweight Classic competitor.
You don’t wanna hear about Gentlemen Jack Gallagher 😬

When you listed those names at the beginning I panicked..."I don't remember them being at the Rumble" I thought.
Oh, that's the theme.
Very good. 👍
At the very least, this Royal Rumble allows us to appreciate the state of the company nowadays. Leaps and bounds better than this period of WWE
Great perspective
The WWE is still riddled with flaws but you're right, dome things have improved from what the product was a decade ago.

i still can’t believe Bray died… it’s weird when a young and popular one dies
"Controversial" is hardly an appropriate word to describe "something people didn't li-WAIT DID HE SAY TEN YEARS WTF
If you wanna feel old just know Hook and Brooks Jensen we’re both in middle school during this rumble
HA! I was as well! Checkmate liberal!
I was in high school during this rumble I'm now 27

Great video lads, now what happened to that wrestler will be in my head all night 🤣
Once again I must ask for a "What Happened To EVERY Wrestler from the full version of the 'What Happened To That Wrestler?' theme tune."
RIP Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
Oh boy i get to hear that song again!
These episodes are great. Can we please have one about all the people in the (full) intro theme?
When you cause an entire arena to boo REY FUCKING MYSTERIO and everything he does in the match, then cheer his elimination, you know you've fucked up.

How about: "What happened to every wrestler from WSX's first episode?"
What happened to every wrestler from wcpw 😂😂😂😂😂
I gotta admit, the 2014 rumble was a lackluster event. I didn’t think it was a good idea to have Batista win the rumble.
I gotta admit, the sky is blue.
Hot take
Agreed
Hot take, bro. You can't be saying that type of thing on the internet and expect not to get cancelled
Billy Gunn was only non 2nd generation wrestler in tag match but produced a couple of 2nd generation wrestlers himself
The Ass Boys
That doesn't feel like 10 Yrs Passed
The intro never gets old
I’d say the year after but uhhhhh this is close
Both were equally controversial but for different reasons.
Crazy to think this was before Braun Strowman Wyatt Family run
Erick Rowan is underrated
From a character perspective I always found him more interesting than Luke Harper
@@pepito2847his hidden genius character was interesting shame they never did anything with it
