I gotta love MK2s, I have my own mk2 with the 1.8 Liter petrol engine and when I fill up I do wish it was a diesel like this. Nonetheless MK2s are indestructible, petrol engines are depends on how they were maintained 200k miles or even more and diesel well as long as there is someone driving them 😂. I’m glad the old boy will get some love he deserves and finally get to his shape from 30 years ago. Great job! Can’t wait for the Restauration

Here in the Balkans the Mk2 Golf are still very much everyday drive. The only thing bad is for bad examples they want top euros.

I had a Mk2 1.8 tour edition in the same colour as your golf in the 90's. I loved it but smashed it into the back of a van one rainy autumn day. I would love to have one now.

Best of luck with your new purchase. Love it when you do the glovebox lottery looking through the car finding evidence of its previous life. Mabe you might consider adding interview with the previous owner of the cars you find, like where there were bought mabe people remembering it in their town with old stories about them. Just a thought keep up the good wor looking forward to the next one.

I live in Northern Europe and diesel golf mk2s are very rare and expensive if you can find them. a lot of people want them because of their low fuel consumption and the fact that they are 30 years and older meaning you don’t have to pay taxes on them.
Pretty much the same situation here and even more so I'd you run vegetable oil or similar! 🤔👋
