I have the older version of this one that i bought in 2012. 8 years of near daily use and not a single issue besides minor fading.
I have the HAWG, it’s very good and I like it. Use it for EDC, tablet and a kindle reader Would suggest the Sparta as it is slightly larger and has more organization. Camelbak is always pricey but absolutely worth the money 👍👍👍

I can vouch for the statement "it will last me forever". I own an older version of this bag with different molle webbing on the front, had it for about 15 years now. I use it everyday taking it to work, actually I take it everywhere. Its black and doesn't shout military. It's great for bush walking, the bladder compartment fits a 17" laptop. Not a massive bag so if you are one of those survivalist types it's no good for carrying huge amounts of gear. I.e. It can carry a bit, but not with overnight gear like a tent with sleeping bag etc. It is an awesome general everyday use bag for a single day outing that is built to last. My only complaint would be no pockets or webbing on the sides but its not really needed for what it is. I highly recommend this bag.
I have the same pack as my edc bag, perfect size for day to day use. Tuck the waist strap in the bottom of the hydration pouch, this way you have more room in the top pocket.
you can use the holes for mike and a rubber duck antenna too.

The pull strings on the zips are terrible I replaced mine with paracord then shrinked wrapped them with heat sealing sleeves, much better especially when using gloves or in wet weather etc.

Are US Military allowed to use their own personal bags in combat like this one you're reviewing? How about the boots?
This has been my EDC for a while now, the only thing I don't like about it is that it has no side pouches or a way to add them. I did write camelbak about adding them.
Side pouches of even molle would be nice
I am thinking of using a Camelbak HAWG for ruck training. Do you think it would hold up under 35 pounds of steel plates?
