So this is a long term user review of the iPhone 13 Pro, which is the first iPhone I've used. So let's talk about my experience including switching from Android to iOS, some tips for first-time iPhone users and some iPhone 13 troubleshooting too.

You can adjust flashlight intensity in the control center (top right) by holding flashlight icon, by default it's set on medium intensity.
Exactly
By default it should be on maximum intensity and should come up with a GiF that instructs the user about intensity tweaking
Yes, but I feel it should be set to maximum by default
Thanks for teaching this! New iphone user here since last October and this is something I didn't know
yeah i was thinking the same that he mightve had it on a lower setting
Literally got my iPhone 13 pro yesterday and I’m blown away with how smooth and fluid everything is. Even as I’m typing this, it’s crazy. I love it, well worth the purchase!!
@Brah im a pretty poweruser and i get like 7 hr SOT easily, sometimes even more..i can easily get through the day
@@iwald0 What phone did u had before u go the iPhone?
same! i went from s10+ to iphone 13 and i agree its soooo smooth!!!
same here, got the alpine green 13 pro last week and 7 days later, i’m still amazed at how smooth everything is. The cameras are FANTASTIC and the batttery lasts so long. Love the iPhone 13 pro.
@@Sabre912 that's probably the 120hz screen. Felt the same moving from s10 to s22.
So happy to see this as I'm in the same boat, just switched to iphone 13 Pro Max earlier this year. Overall happy but yeah that lightning port is infuriating. Literally every other device I use on a daily basis charges with type-C. Hoping this EU thing results in a type-C iphone
Mag Safe and wifi connecting to your PC/Mac. They're gonna dodge that usb-c
@@meesun2060 we'll see, no wired fast charging is a deal breaker. That'll make this my first and last iphone
USB 2.0 interface on a $1000+ phone in 2022 is BEYOND RIDICULOUS.
Mind-fucking.. But Apple, right..?
they have usb C to charger but not to phone haha
the most annoying thing is those cables break internally extremely fast, and i already have some problems with it any i never use it anywhere else than at my home in one and only place. funny enough the cable of my previous android smartphone from huawei is lasting longer 2-3years now without a scratch, since it is a bit thicker than apples lightning cable which is too thin for my likings
@@knightnxk2906 the cable lasted me 7 year tf you mean breaking extremely fast
I switched from Android to iPhone SE, and was impressed. I upgraded to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and I am beyond impressed. The battery life is INSANE.
I made the switch in 2015 with the iPhone 6. I never looked back.
I have the 8 plus i want to save up for it haha
I bought an iphone for the first time in March but i’m not that impressed. I’m neither smarter nor stronger and i still don’t have super power😅.
Alpine Green 13 Pro is fluid and have impressive battery life but i prefer Android.
Not interested at all about Smartwatch or Tablet so all the hype about Apple Ecosystem means nothing for me.
Iphone is one of the most impressive smartphone but it’s just a phone😉
The battery life of the iPhone 13 pro max is indeed phenomenal!
I get the same battery life, if not more, on my Pixel 7 than on my 12 PRO (even when new).
Hey man, great video. Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning the icon pack, I'm glad you like it. Been a fan for some time now, so seeing the mention really meant a lot. Thank you bro.
Just switched to a 13 Pro Max from an S10. The software experience is next level. There are some things that Android does better but honestly, you can’t go wrong with either operating system.
The lack of USB-C is the only thing that has been bothering me. Haha.
The iPhone 13 pro was also my first iPhone. Its really good imo, I had high expectations for it and I was not let down. Transitioning from android to ios was not as bad as I thought. Idk if im going to keep using an iPhone past this but I might.
Same here. Watching this from my iPhone 13 Pro. I switched from OnePlus 7T to this. It’s a huge upgrade but it was definitely worth it.
@@Borderbeach I have the OP7 pro. And tried the iPhone 11. Just couldn't make the switch personally. What is making you go more toward the 13?
@@everadept he/she was able to make the switch as they never used the full potential of an Android phone.
File management on iOS/iPad OS will screw you big big time. It's unbelievable.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH Well I’m a software developer who’s used android since version 1.5 (Sony Ericsson Xperia X10), so what are you on about? I used Android to its full extent… and then I got sick of fiddling with annoyances. I switched to iOS. File management on the device is fine, for the rare times I need to.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH I've definitely ran into issues with files. Especially si ce I keep over 1k music tracks on my phone and putting them on was annoying because of itunes
My 13 pro max is the first to phone I see holding onto for a few years. Stupid fast, amazing display, crazy battery life and a fantastic camera overall.
Awesome mic 🎙 quality!
You got my SUB just within the first 10 seconds
I like that you answer your questions and don't just leave them rhetorical.
I really appreciate that :)
You mention the flashlight is weak on the 13 Pro, I haven't had that issue myself but perhaps it's because you have it on 1/3 brightness? If you long press the flashlight icon (in the control centre) you can change it's brightness
yup. thats it fer sure.
Shoot! You're right! Thanks for bringing this up! I'm still getting used to this phone lol
The flashlight is a bit too bright 😅
@@AtAndrew422 good id rather a subtler flash to conserve battery and reduce heat
@@AtAndrew422 I'd rather buy a phone to be built well instead of a nice camera, that really isnt what I buy a productivity and communication Tool for.
the quality of your video is insane. loved it.
Exactly the video I was looking for!!
The most honest review I've ever seen ..no biasm towards or against and acting involved
For 13 years, I was exclusively an Android user. On 5/2, I got my first iPhone. The 13 Pro Max. So far, I love it. The only thing is the multitasking or lack thereof. Might I add I have to use a separate adapter to listen to my headphones.
The photos you’ve taken with your iPhone in this video are amazing.
Really nice video mate, great job
I just love it how you can use iPhones for a long time and still be happy with it. I have a iPhone XR for years now and my battery health is still at 86% and works flawlessly. Everything just works. Nothing lags unlike my Galaxy S8+ and nothing bugs out. What is the best part. I bought it used for 150€ just because there is a small crack in the right corner of my phone.
honestly the best review in youtube for someone on the fence with this phone. thanks for making this!!!!
Wow, I found this video to be noticeably excellent I. Every way….content was relevant, script well written, presentation was superb, lighting and set design perfect, … this is professionalism at work
Also, I’m cool with the auto settings of the camera because if I need to go manual, that’s what my pro Sony camera is for. The majority of smartphone users wouldn’t use anything but point and shoot when taking pictures and that’s why Apple has it setup like that in my opinion.
About to get my 13 Pro and I find your honest opinions to be illuminating. Subbed!
Finally an unbiased review! Good job!
Great comprehensive review - thanks you.
The photos you've taken are beautiful!
Same with me. After having tried a lot of the other major manufacturers available to me I took the plunge and bought the 13 pro. I have my issues with it for sure but I can see what the fuss is about.
you can access some of the camera controls you mentioned like exposure and f-stop by swiping up on the viewfinder
Great video, thoughtful answers and detailed review. Love your voice btw, stay blessed! ❤
Fair, insightful discussion. Thanks for this. 👍
Thank you for addressing the call quality, most reviews I see never mention it.
Something that I’d like to point out (from MY experience) is that my apps rarely ever crash when using an iPhone. This is something that never gets brought up when talking about apple but it seems to be a very common issue with other smartphones.
man, your voice is 10/10. I wish you could narrate my life (or maybe audiobooks)
Amazing review as always.
Really good video, I appreciated your candor. I was surprised at your thoughts on the camera. It's crazy what phones cost these days, I mean you could buy a really good camera for the price. Anyways, thanks for the info.
brother i think you were using the flashlight under it's lower setting cause this shit be illuminating my whole house at night
Glad you’ve enjoyed it. I switched out to Android and stayed there for the Note 9, through to the s20u. Migrated back for the 12th gen mini and went nuts for the 13 PM.
Both systems are great. Both have drawbacks. Everything is compromise.
Time to add a watch :3
You're the first person who's mentioned the issue with iCloud for Whatsapp. Thanks for this comprehensive review.
I got the 12 Pro then 13 Pro. Longtime android user here. Loved it. Got iPad Pro and new MacBook since.
This was such a refreshing and extremely thorough review for people like me who've never owned an iPhone but have been curious about switching. You touched on issues that I didn't even think of. Great job!
The jump to iPhone is always daunting for hardcore Android users, speaking from experience. Honestly every since I switched I can't go back Android. With that said, Apple really needs to switch to C on the 14.
lmao lightning user
They'll be switching on the 15
@@roboticvenom1935 lmao one update per phone then nothing

I am switching to iPhone 13 pro in June, I can't wait to get it. LOVE THE GRAPHITE VERSION.
Nice review. I just got my first iphone last week which is also the 13 pro. I admit, I do miss the Android themes a lot. Customizing an iphone is really a pain. I hate the shortcuts notification that piles up each time I open an app. Once I thought my phone was broken because no badge notif appear on my apps, only to realize they are only shortcuts 🤦🏻♀️
Anyway, enough of the rant. I LOVE faceid. It just works! I'm amazed it works in the dark! It works so well that I don't even feel like my phone is locked. I did miss the fingerprint sensor on first few days but I've moved on.
switchced from 13 years of Android to the Android 13 Pro, went all in with the watch and iPad Pro M1 12.9”. Have thoroughly enjoyed it and won’t be switching back any time soon unless there is a foldable that hits it out of the park
Nice video, but I'd just like to point out that losing Whatsapp chats when switching from iOS to Android and vice versa isn't an iOS problem or an Android problem, it is a Whatsapp problem and a lot of other competing apps do retain chats when switching platforms
However im doubtful if it wouldve been such a problem if you had better access to the file system in iOS..
@@Pindamann I wondered the same, but in that case even transferring chats from iOS to iOS would’ve been a problem I reckon
@@Pindamann Doubtful
@@Pindamann i have my android chats as a file in my iPhone, still can’t transfer it.
@yogiraj beknalkar i used the same program and it transferred all of my WhatsApp chats.
It’s funny you uploaded this today. Just this morning, I slid my 13 Pro Max 6 inches across a table at my university and got multiple deep gouges in the display. Other than that, it’s the best phone I’ve ever had
Sir, this was the only unbiased review for an iPhone that I've ever seen.
Great review! Been looking forward to buying one. Now I'm rushing.
It'll also be my first iphone, after years using android. Can't wait to see it coming
New to this channel and I'm definitely here to stay
I just love this video
Loved the video though!!!
Neat n clean video, keep it up
Great video
I’ve been using iPhone before, but then i switched to google pixel 4. It was truly great experience and didn’t hurt me after XR(face unlock on 4th pixel series is definitely good lol)
Couple of days ago i bough regular iPhone 13. Well…it was pretty difficult to get used to 60Hz and lack of customization, but i’m happy to get back.
I'm switching to Apple as well getting this same phone in Alpine Green 🍏... I do appreciate how intuitive it is ... Like the video 🔥
First, my Samsung A8 was slowier.
Second, i got my last Security Update.
Third, i saw Alpine Green.
End of March, i bought my first ever Iphone.
Your shirt, your watch, and the phone..all blends beautifully 😂😂
It’s a great phone I have had the 13 pro for 7ish months now my battery is still at 100% battery life (idk how). The 120hz is amazing. I would say don’t upgrade if you have anything 11 and up that’s still useable and it gets the job done for you. I would say the only thing bad is if you don’t have a case the side is a finger print Magnet. No usb c (I personally don’t care but others do).
For WhatsApp, use backuptrans, it works very well in transferring from android to iOS
Thanks For Being Honest We Appreciate ❤️ Your Hard Work 😓
Less than a month ago I got the exact phone the iPhone 13pro my first iPhone, but in Gold, and I can say everything you experienced I have the exact same feeling word for word
Honest and Great review.! Specially as per the Android user perspective.
I think it's good that he mentioned the call quality, since most phone reviews don't mention it at all
Would have to say about the scratches note with heavy use like being put in my pocket ect after 10months 0 scratches the Ceramic Shield really is a game changer coming from previous iphones
About the pink tint display issue,It's a problem with amoled technology cause by uniformity problems it is a lottery sadly.Glad that you managed to fix it :)
The low light camera or dark mode is set up for an automatic transmission you can manually adjust it by pressing the dark mode button in the camera app and use the slider. Took me a bit to figure it out too.
your videos high definition looking amazing .. please tell me which camera model you use
In December was when I got my first IPhone as well, 13 pro is very beastly
I’ll be upgrading from the iPhone 7 to the 14 this year…only reason: after 6 years of use I won’t be getting the IOS16 update. Now that’s a life cycle I am so grateful for
I really on the bridge on switching to an iPhone. Waiting for that USB-C.
Up until now, I used an iPad. Never felt the need to have in a ecosystem with my Pixel 5. Google services are synced everywhere anyways, Which I loved.
But I've been just super curious about the ecosystem since getting the new MacBook Pro from work. I swear I love this laptop. My poor custom build pc doesn't even get any playtime anymore
You can increase the brightness of the flashlight, you need to go into the control center, press and hold the flashlight button, then set it to the highest
First thing that caught my attention about this video, was the stellar video quality and editing. Good work man🙏
That wallpaper in the pixel is sick bro 4:23
I'm using iphone only because it can shoot 25 FPS videos. Anyone using any Android phone that can do the same, even with 3rd party camera apps?
Good review. To support your comments the camera default output crushes shadows all the time. For some reason the HDR just isn't good. You can brighten up in post but you have to do this nearly all the time to get a pleasing photo. Details though, you can't get back, compared with pixel 6/pro it just doesn't compete. If the 14 pro's sensor improves these points then it would be a much more complete package.
Apple support is great, I got an entire new phone when I took mine in for a screen not working, I went in negative minded because I heard or actually read on social media how bad Apple support was and I was scared to like come out of pocket to fix my issue. Turned out 10 minutes in and I was walking out with a new device.
Really good long term review.
I was quite interested Since I would like to switch on iPhone to test it out.
Thanks a lot
Having experienced both OS, the iPhone is the comfortable choice. It may not have alle the Features some are wanting or even expecting but it’s the best for people that don’t want to worry about anything. That’s what I’m all about
Please make a video about getting used to and how the apple ecosystem is. I'm planning to switch to apple as well for just the better quality of products and the technological leaps they've made.
The iphone 13 pro is my first iphone since the iphone 6 and i can say im not dissapointed at all switching from a galaxy s10 ive had for the past 3 years.
I was considering getting an iPhone 13 mini just because of its size and I came across this video. After watching it, I can certainly say I won't be switching to an iPhone. This video just reiterated the reasons why I never wanted to switch to an iPhone in the first place. Even though I've always wanted to get a phone the size of an XZ1 Compact and the 13 mini is the only phone that size, I realized comfort and ease of use without hassles matter more than just the size of the phone.
It really is all about the ecosystem especially with the new macs that have came out and the features they released (last year?) for easier airpods switching. Between my iPad Pro, my M1 MBA, my iPhone 13 Pro and my Airpods Pro, I can be doing something on my laptop, then easily pick up my tablet and walk to the couch and continue what I was doing without even taking out my headphones. I can also leave those two things where they are and continue on my phone as I leave. I can be texting someone on my phone and pick up my mac and continue the conversation without an issue. Taking phone calls while my phone is across the room because my airpods are already in and i'm already working on my mac is also something that is pretty cool. Those kinds of integrations are the reason I stay with Apple. That is not to say they don't make me angry or I don't regret the lack of customization sometimes but it is worth it for the most part.
Not my first iPhone but I’ve had the XS Max since it first launched. Long paid off and I haven’t found a reason to upgrade it works so well. I’ve also heard newer model screens are harder to crack but easier to scratch. So I’m really hesitant to move away from my current model. Can’t think of a good reason to even though I put a new one in my cart every year and then back out. 😅
going strong with xr
• Full-Cover Tempered Glasses from Spigen & dbrand
• dbrand skin
• Silicon Cases like those from Apple or Ultra Hybrid Cases from Spigen

iPhone 13 pro user here, previously user of an iPhone 8:
The frame is a scratch magnet but nothing a case can solve and the display has not a single scratch after 7 months of use (at the time of this comment).
The phone has great battery, usually last about 10 hours for me but I’m not a heavy user, some days the phone last all day long, has a great camera and it really feels good overall. It’s pricey but I can honestly recommend this phone 😊
Wait till September. Once the 14 is announced the 13 will be made $100-$200 cheaper for sure
I usually upgrade because the battery gets bad but this time I’ll upgrade to the max version so I can upgrade every 4-5 years, currently I have the iPhone 11
anyone know where he got the wallpaper from?
I love my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Probably won’t upgrade till the 14 but great review!
What screen protector are you using?
This is my first iPhone too ..I use cycling gloves and I really disappointed in screen touch sensitivity almost every time I need to take them off but on in all I really like it
You will realize and fix your few issues after going through this Magician later braw. Don’t worry about them, because this is your first Experience. However, I really impressed again with your Creativity and Performances ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Braaavo Braw
Previously owned a Note 8, then an S9 and last year switched to the 12 mini, because of the form factor. I have to say ios really has the no frills, it just works phone that feels absolutely smooth regardless of the app you're using. I see myself keeping this for the next 3 years and hopefully they continue with the Mini design (fingers crossed on the SE adopting the mini lineup). I can never go back to Android. I love the customization and I did everything from editing widgets to using different roms.. I gotta say at one point it became a novelty rather than something you look forward to using. Apps bogged down in samsung and felt really slow after a year of use.
Thank you for this video. I was getting this crazy idea of returning to the IOS system, but thanks to your video I got over it! It reminded me why I left it in the first time! 😉👍
After about 9 years on Android I picked up a 12 Pro Max last year... iOS had changed a lot in that time. I now have a M1 Pro MBP, Apple TV and a Watch to go along with the iPad and AirPods I already had... I've been tech guy since I took a programming class in elementary school back in the late 70s and while I miss being able to tweak certain things I've never been more productive nor happy with my setup.
Flashlight brightness can be controlled through Control Center. By default, it is set on the lowest.
The Quality is just Dope.....!!!
I have been using iPhone since the 4s and I would never been able to switch. Love the OS and jailbreaking is awesome.
I'm still about to make that move but the lack of USB c and some other things are holding me back at the moment
This is exactly me 1 year back. Been a big Android/Microsoft fan my entire life but I couldn't take the subpar experience and keep supporting Google year after year. Last year made the switch and within 1 year, all my devices except Google Home is on Apple platform
.
Another itroll posting a fake comment...
Problem with Apple is the closed nature. Harder for enthusiasts and people with specific needs. Apple silicon is amazing but wish they'd open the floodgates and be more consumer friendly. It's honestly quite selfish and shitty of Apple to not have usb-c yet on the iPhone. That will be a nice step in the right direction to get me to switch over.
I wish you all the best
I'm kinda frustrated with the current smartphone market. Still using my Oneplus 7T. Repaired it myself after dropping it. During the time I was waiting for the screen to arrive, I switched back to my HTC 10, which I was totally fine with, until Google decided to "ban" it. Idk what happened, but I can't log into any Google apps anymore. Google support told me to factory reset, but I rather switched to my OP.
Would like to have a new phone at some point, the HTC taught me how nice it is to have a somewhat compact formfactor, a headphone jack, a micro-sd-card slot and whatever HTC does to the audio is also pretty cool.
Only downsides were mediocre performance in games, having the screen brighter than minimum really puts a toll on the battery, so do games and UA-cam. But as I'm on my phone too much anyways and kind of addicted tbh, it was very refreshing. Really wish that the smartphone market will return to it's former glory, some day.
For now I'm probably using/repairing (also not updating) my OP as long as possible.
When I'm forced to upgrade, I'm thinking about buying some old Android phone from eBay and rooting it or even using a custom rom. Maybe another HTC 10 or a phone with removable battery. I just wanna keep the data of my current phones though.
4:27 - the flashlight is pretty dim if it isn't adjusted in the control center when long pressing the flashlight icon. There are four different "levels" of light that the iPhone can output, maybe your's was on the lowest setting.
Is that just me thinking that there is lot of MKBHD influence in the flow and delivery of that video!
I would love a re-visit here.
