It looks like auditions may have simplified over the years. When I auditioned for Concert choir, (years ago), I first auditioned for the Assistant, then the Professor, with a prepared vocal solo piece and similar range and ear training exercises. If you were chosen, your name was posted on a list for first callbacks. If you passed that, then you went to second callbacks, before a decision was made on the final cut. That was Concert Choir though, Men's Chorus may just have a different process.
I'd Love to be able share my testimony of Jesus Christ thur music this fall at #BYU but I have missed the deadline to apply unless there are some extended deadlines that I could apply for this fall semester of 2023 and are there scholarships available

This brought back all the intense nervousness of auditioning for Sister Hall several times. (She really is as nice as she seems--nicer, actually.)
