- This is a mock vocal audition for MUE 480 Choral Methods at ASU. The audition uses warm-ups, vocalizes, sigh singing exercises, tonal memory and singing a familiar song acapella to audition a high school student for choir.
Sight reading is gonna kill me
James Loggins same
SpacePeachi Animations Oh thank God I don't feel alone. I've actually been sight reading lately and I'm getting better and better. I have to learn how to sight sing before Feb 19. So hopefully I can get it in before then
I have to audition for regional choir and there is a sight reading portion. From what I know ab sight reading I recommend using solfege instead of just saying “ta” the whole time because solfege will help you not be as pitchy
Literally same! Like, I really want to Audition for Madrigals. I am already in Acapella and NADS, you have to tryout for NADS, but my teacher just automatically put me in it because he remembers how I can sing from 7th grade. I an in 10th now, and haven't done Choir since then. But since this is Madrigals. It's a bigger deal, so I'll HAVE to audition for it next year. My Senior friend was telling about this. And tell me why this entire video is EXACTLY what she was talking about. Everything is here that I have to do...😭 Sight reading will be the end of me.🥲☠️
Pitch memory is gonna murder me in my audition for my schools choir
Haha same but mine is outside choir
I thought the same thing for a choir audition that I just went through, but it actually wasn't that bad. I thought I would die at that part but I ended up doing near perfect.
Sight singing was the absolute worst part for me, since sight reading with your voice is different than an instrument. You don't have strings to press or buttons, so that was the hard part lol
NAH BC SAME BRUUUU
He has a beautiful voice 😍😍
help i want to be in choir but this is gonna kill me im so nervous
I have an audition end of august next month, I have to prepare a 90-second solo that shows off my best singing voice, do some sight-reading exercises. and if invited back for call-backs, I have to sing a piece and sing a particular part or parts based on what the director wants.
i’m bass 2 so i was going along with the low notes part and when jimmy stopped i was like wait i’m not done yet 😂
Same
Same
baritone..pretty...good luck with life long singing...
5:20 "You can sing most anything."
Exactly what I thought
I have an audition coming up and this sight reading is killing me
REAL BRO
OMG this is my dream for go to brooklyn Tabernacle choir is my really dream 🙏🙏❤️❤️🇺🇸🇧🇷
Sight singing is going to be difficult for me
Very fun to practice along to and even harmonise with vocals ...until I read the captions and started cracking up
I ou I ou I ou I ou I OEOEOEOE
Just remember that the last sharp is Ti and the last flat is always Fa. Most of the time Your director will give you your starting note and pitch and have you sing it on solfège.
You are to be congratulated.
Very good
I cant believe you don't have any subs bc you seem like a sweet person
We so this everyday in 7th grade Choir
O oo OOO ooooo ooooo ......
Sung all my life I’m now sixty four haven’t sung for five yrs
Always had vibrato but now plenty of wobble more than vibrato
I was a tenor do you have any videos for breathing and wobble
I hate to break it to you, but it's because you're old. When a human gets around the 65+ age, the vocal cords weaken. Some can still have a great singing voice, but those people have really strong vocal cords, and everyone's different, so. Not trying to say that's the reason, but it most likely is.
can someone please explain is this bass or tenor? i'm watching before my choir audition, thanks for uploading
Not Tenor at all. He's pushing Tenor, but not quite there. He's a Baritone, but he could do Bass as well if he wanted to.
Nice
Can u guys explain me what is exactly a bass 2?
Bass 2 is referred to as true bass that has a strong low notes... this is being assigned whenever there is a division in bass section in which bass 1 sing the high bass part and bass 2 for the low part... technically bass 2 sings the lowest notes in the music piece.
Bass 1 on the other hand is the baritone
he was a 11th grader?!!
Dude looks 25
I assume he was a student in a class on teaching choral musicians (based on the video description)
Well he cert didn’t sound tenor that’s for sure
Yeah, I noticed he struggled with the high notes, but he's such a good singer still!
