Chris did live up to his expectations he was great when he played. Injury derailed his career and slowed him down took away his explosiveness. We all know the Kings got cheated and really did beat the Lakers that year. They would have won the NBA championship. I still wish that Washington team stayed together. C-Webb, Juwan Howard, Rod Strickland, G.Muresan, Rasheed Wallace, Calbert Chaney, Ben Wallace, that team was loaded! Even though the Bulls swept them n the playoffs its wasn't easy. Even Jordan said how tough that Washington team would be in the future.

CWeb for the Hall! I think he didn't fully live up to his potential, but HOF nothingtheless. I think if he was more determined to play more inside he would have been greater. He played a lot outside, bug he was physically superior the a lot of the big guys he went against. He didn't like playing center, which was understandable, being a natural, power forward, but think he would have been better served playing closer to the basket. He was strong and had those incredible hands. Instead of being a 20/10 guy, I think he could have been more like a 24/11.5 guy....he was that talented. Love the guy though and he still deserves to be in HOF for sure!!! :)
Well, here comes 2023 Kings. They are having fun. Selfless, Fox, and Sabonis are having fun. Chemistry and positive energy are there. Heart and soul for the team is there.
I think it would the biggest mistake not to put C Webb in the Hall of Fame. He was recruited by scout since he was 12 because he could dunk and could play good basketball. He was the top prospect, and was probably the biggest reason why Michigan made it to the National Championship games. The big thing that might prevent it would be the sanctions, but considering the circumstances can you blame him for anything other than the way he went about the whole situation? He demonstrated that he was one of the greatest PFs to play the game, he got even better than what he was in college. ROY, all stars, and while he didnt win a title, he revived a franchise. He pretty much average 21 points and 10 rebounds in his career despite the career altering injury.
Just sad though he did that all to one very vital mistake very sadly but had a hell of nba career do think he could have had a even better career then the great career he had!
C Webber is like a foster child who got kicked around from home to home, but played his heart out no matter where he was. Maybe none of the teams wanted him but all the fans loved him.
I did not follow the west coast teams much then but I remembered being impressed with the Kings during this period. They really played team basketball and I thought they were gonna win it all a couple of those years. They just came up a little short but were very much in the conversation.
Most people don't realize that if Webber had played for the Iverson-era 76ers they would've won a ring in '01. He couldn't do it in Sacramento because the Western conference was very very competitive. But boy do I miss the Kings during that new millennium era.

Btw, people can talk about Games 6 and 7 of the 2002 WCF against the Lakers, but they overlook Game 4 where in my opinion, that game was a heavy, if not, a killer blow for the Kings. Think about that for a second. Sure, it was controversial when Samaki Walker's trey, despite a full second after the buzzer, was called good. But the Kings had the lead for most of that game and all they had to do is to grab one rebound on the final play. Instead of grabbing Shaq's putback miss, Vlade Divac slapped the ball to Robert Horry. By the time Chris Webber got to Horry, it was too late and Horry got a good look to nail that game-winning trey. Win that game, the Kings would've went up 3-1, but didn't.
The 1993 Draft marked the first and to date, only time in the Lottery Era that the No. 1 pick was held by the same team in consecutive years (Orlando Magic). The Magic selected Chris Webber, but was traded to the Golden State Warriors for Hardaway.

True. Even one of the referees in Game 6 between the Lakers and Kings in the 2002 Western Conference Finals said that that game was fixed. So the Kings could have possibly won a title in 2002
On April 5, 1993, at Michigan's second consecutive NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship game, Webber called a time-out with 11 seconds left in the game when his team, down 73-71, did not have any remaining, resulting in a technical foul that effectively clinched the game for North Carolina. that intro is scary, like i never knew he originally got drafted by orlando. It worked out kinda good because they got Penny, but imagine if Shaq and Cwebb was on the same team
As a former Magic fan this was an example and the beginning of things to come for that inept management and owner to destroy a once loyal fan following, and a promising team (teams). The Webber trade caused a ripple effect with a once loyal fan following through the years to abandon that pathetic organization, Management, and owner.
Fuck no cwebb shits on draymond everyway possible. Webb was a superstar who made every franchise a winner and career was altered because an injury. Draymond is a role player aka mr Triple Single.
leaving golden state and going to washington was the worst decision of webber's career. The warriors were loaded at every position when he played for them in 93-94. they had tim hardaway, latrell sprewell, chris mullin, and chris webber. that is an all star lineup and with all the players being under 30 years of age they were capable of being a dynasty of the 90's. When webber left things fell apart for golden state and for webber himself. Warriors ended up trading everyone and toiled at the bottom for more than decade and webber ended up getting injured and missed the playoffs for 3 of the 4 seasons he was in washington. he basically voluntarily went from a winning situation capable of being a dynasty to a cellar dweller wasting four years of his career. Webber bounced back with Sacramento but I think if he had stayed in golden state that team could have been even better than the webber led sacramento teams of the early 2000's.
You can thank Chris Cohans dumb ass by choosing Don Nelson over him. Although Don Nelson was a tremendous offensive-minded coach, he was also notorious for wanting to trade players while he coached them. For example, Nelson was the one behind the whole debacle on trading Mitch Richmond to Sacramento for Billy Owens which broke up the exciting trio of Run TMC. That right there is where I feel the Warriors began to fall off the map even though we made the playoffs a couple more times the next few seasons. When Webber was on the Warriors, him and Nelson always clashed because Nelson wanted a small ball lineup and Webber was put at center. Webber didn't like the position he was put in by Nelson therefore thats how they both were always at conflict. Better yet, the season after we traded Webber, Nelson got off to a bad start coaching and Cohan fired him halfway through the season. Think about that, as an owner you let a star player go because you choose to side with the coach and then you fire the coach during the next season??? Cohan was the biggest idiot to ever own a professional sports team I feel. Oh and did I forget to mention Rick Adelman (coach of the Kings when Webber was in Sacramento after getting fired as coach in Golden State) was our coach after Bob Lanier (who coached the remainder of the season that Nelson was fired). Overall, Nelson was a great coach and as a Warriors fan I praise him for making Run TMC an exciting team to watch and bring attention to our team back in the early 90s and also making the Bay Area blow up over our We Believe squad back in 2007, but this man also made some highly questionable decisions while he was here in Oakland.
