Man I’m getting later and later to my favorite knife videos. There’s nothing wrong with being chunky, my wife still likes me.
Last week I had to Bush Hogg a field after a little I noticed around 6 hawks circling the field( catching mice).The next day I came back jumped on the tractor & took off down the road after a couple miles I noticed the hawks & they we're following me. All afternoon they we're circling the field catching mice. There smarter than you think lol
I love big knives guys n I’m digging this one. I hope they stick to their roots. Hey bird I carry the 4 max scout every day. I wear basketball shorts n sweats too. Just a tip I put it on my hip on inside instead of pocket and that’s how I carry large n it doesn’t bounce around or pull my shorts or sweats down. Just a tip but it may not work for you but I thought I’d throw it out there. Thanks guys for the video.
I just got mine on Tuesday and yesterday the deep carry Lynch clip came in for it. Trust me. Get one of those clips for it. Great addition to my collection. I love this knife and I can see it being my EDC for a long long time.
The 0308 is a beautiful folder! I have a ZT 560 that I really dig, the blade drops like a guillotine, the 0308 reminds of it. After seeing this vid I think I'm going to carry the 560 tomorrow, it's been awhile.

This has become my favorite knife review channel. I don’t always agree, but your views are hard to argue with, and the dynamic absolutely works.
Such a cool knife. I have been wanting an 0301 forever but didn't get it when it was available. Got the 0350 carbon fiber instead, which has been my favorite since I got it. Now that the 0308 came out in such a cool color I saw my chance.
The slightly sleeker yet still buff design on this might be even nicer looking than the 0301, it's a strong contender, and the fact that it has the super smooth ball bearings instead of an assist might is an upgrade too. Overall very pleased with this one, got my big ZT finally.

I put a MXG deep carry clip for a Benchmade on my ZT 0308. Works great.
Surprised they didn't mill the titanium as much as the 0562ti. I still bought the black tiger stripe 0308 though
P.S. Does not feel like 7 oz and is very comfortable in hand. On the JD Cutlery models he has dyed the scales, also mine came in a muted purple/eggplant
I only have the 0562CF but I love it. And I love the deep carry clip.
i have the 0562ti, 0452cf and 0223, and the 0223 is definitely the smoothest ZT I've ever handled
Hello guys, I just discovered this video and your YT channel browsing for more information about the ZT0308. Actually, I had bought a new brand one and, I have to say that it's quite sturdy and I like it! Now, I had noticed that the flipping tap is quite stiff too. So, I was wondering if it is normal (stiff flipping tab) or just mine is too sitff. I'm affraid mine is a defective one. Regards from Mexico
Keep flipping, typically they soften up a bit

It needs the deep carry pocket clip like their 562. Hope somebody does an aftermarket deep carry clip that wraps over the back and maybe has a shorter last spacer to fit.
Ok a local shop still has 0456 on the shelf. Roughly the same as the 308. It would be my first ZT really wanted a bareknuckle in 20cv but didn't get one. Ya know the bareknuckle isn't a zt but it was my poor people compromise. So which zt the 308 or 456?

It’s a damn good looking knife. I love all the milling👌🏻 I wish they’d make the liner Ti or delete it all together.... The liner is really unnecessary when using these super strong composite materials.

I got one of these and it's my first ZT. The action on mine is smooth but it takes two hands to get the blade out of the lock detent. I wouldn't have known it was super tight if you didnt make this video, thought it just needed break in. Thank you

I have the Tiger Stripe ZT 308. Its my favorite knife, albeit in the princess category. I’ll beat on my Spyderco Shaman or my Benchmade Crooked River before I mess up the 308. Its a heavy mofo for sure!

My main issue with ZT is I tend to sell/trade a lot on the secondary market and most ZT don’t seem to hold their value like some other companies
Chunky but compare that to an Artisan Cutlery Proponent copper. Requires a belt and suspenders. with an empty pocket
but like a tank again, was there a moment for ZT when they didn't acknowledge lock issues? hence again, or what?
no lock issues but they did smaller more edc friendly knives and not these huge and heavy blades.
They had major lock failures in almost all of their newer models going back to the 0562.

Awesome knife. I feel like swedgie-poon should be official blade shape terminology. LOL
I've never like the looks or handling (I'm a lefty) of a framelock knife. This knife would be great as a linerlock ...or if the tan scale was put over the framelock side, to make it look better and easier to flip open without shifting your thumb around. There are some knife designs out now that have the hidden framelock. The only one that comes to mind right now is the Kershaw "Strobe"...far more affordable and far less quality.

Grate knife, but I never understood to whole crescent wrench pivot. If your buying a ZT you probably already invested in a good set of trox drivers. Unless you're one of those guys afraid to disable there stuff.

For $305 you can buy a beautiful 0308 all dressed up from JD Cutlery, I did and I otherwise probably would have passed this model as I am not a big buyer of this brand but I did and it has the finest tuned detent I have experienced in awhile. I believe you get your monies worth here especially if you go the custom ano route but even if not still a good value in spite of them forgetting to finish the clip side and slathering KAI on the blade per usual, does anyone care who KAI is, probably a big corp conglomerate ? Who cares?

Although I've had problems with poor heat treats I love ZT in general. A Proprietary pivot is a dick move though for any manufacturer 😞
How is the pivot proprietary? Do you own tools to work on your car? If so your good to go.
@@Bad_Rattle Are we looking at the same pivot? Not sure that's going to work. Can't remember which model it was but they had another design that required a special tool that I thought was ridiculous
Grab an open end 1/2" wrench. The width fits perfectly on the flats of the pivot. I'd prefer a torx or the 3/8" hex wrench screw from the 301 and 200 but it works.

Bullshit ZTs are built like tanks. I have had multiple break and i never used them hard. I had a ZT0452GL's carbon fibre crack and i never used it. I have a broken 0566 break and i usdd it for cardboard at work. And they are both jnusible and i sent them to zt and they sent them back with no work done to them. I have had a $35 kershaw link work nonestop for 5 years and have onky had to sharpen it a few times and i use it everyday hard. I stabed it through grills and sheet aluminum a bunch and it still is like brand new. What i amd trhjng to say is ZT's have great action and look cool fit great and are really nice but from what ive seen im my two examples is they are like bitchmades. Overprices and not built well enough. But a Kershaw if you want a good work knife. Price DOES NOT MEAN BETTER PERFORMANCE!!!!

i wish every reviewer would stop saying M390 is "the best". They all say it. On paper its true. In reality, with few exceptions, M390 is crap. 99% of all the m390 out there sits right around the 154CM, VG-10 level of performance, just triple the price. Its like D2. When its done right it can really be amazing, its just almost never done right.

Overrated BIG KNIFE. A $30 USD ($590 CAD...markup for CDNs) for a knife the size of a 350 that has a 20cv blade and is a frame-lock vs lineer-lock/assisted..less than half the cost....a 4300 beefy knife with a 20cv blade and G10 scales...they couldn't give us CF or Alu...
Kershaw Link 20cv ..ess than 1/3 the cost and you get Alu scales...similar sized blade...Speed-assist, liner-lock... $80 USD MSrP...
If you live in one of the knife-friendly states (e.g. Tx) then you can carry either legally...if carrying a single bladed knife is your "thang" for "edc" vs carryinga multi-tool knife...which makes more sense to me for "edc"..
