- "Come, behold the works of the LORD,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
'Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!'
The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress."
-- Psalms 46:8-11
People are saying this is overpriced but Hinderers are G10 on one side and people gobble them up. So for similar materials and construction, 300 bucks really isn’t that bad.
Very glad to see this model I have been underwhelmed by ZT the last few years as well
Kevin cleary much agreed and finally thinner geometry
The deep carry clip is a Casey Lynch for a Benchmade.

Nice review bro, God bless you and yours stay safe 🙏💜🙏
I got one of these last week after seeing your review. Ended up getting the same clip from LynchNW in sandstone and its great as well. I sharpened mine today on my wicked edge and I ended up going with 22 degrees per side. I think it was closer to 25 a side from the factory. Anyways, great review as always and honestly, I think I may have finally found my holy grail knife in this 0308. This one is going to be riding in my pocket for years to come👍
From what I heard from all the interviews with ZT at the last Shot Show. Quite a few of their core customers were starting to complain about the direction the company was taking with their designs. They wanted the older tactical tank style knives that they used to make, and that put that branch of Kershaw on the map.
Well I'm certainly glad they are starting to listen again because I hate small knives simply because I have very large hands....
I miss the factory customs... those were ZTs finest work! Where’d that kind of stuff go??
This thing is calling to me now, Rob. Looks like it would feel like a full sized 0350. Think I'm gonna have to find one.
Still a recommended?
Absolutely! It’s a chunk, but a really nice design. It definitely has some old ZT/Onion DNA.
@@TheApostleP - thank you, brother.
Too many "tactical" folders running on ball bearings instead of phosphor bronze washers...
Hinderer's tri-way pivot system would offer the user the option they want...
Alexander Bertallo Can’t argue with that.
My xm18 is in my pocket bro... probably Jurassic next...
The problem with Hinderer is that the tolerances on his new knives with the Tri-Way Pivot aren't as good as they were in the previous generation folders. I think what made Hinderer unique went out the door when he decided to cave to social pressure to go with the Tri-Way. The idea of the Tri-Way is ingenious, but whether or not he can keep tight tolerances using more parts remains to be seen. I've owned three with the Tri-Way.
@@ReclusiveMountainMan Cool man Thanks for the feedback 😎
@@ReclusiveMountainMan sorry I have no idea about that... my pockets are not full enough for a XM 18 ...
If this would be my decision to make, I would never ever go for ball bearings... there are enough companies who proved that there are ways to offer perfect action on phosphor bronze washers, and Hinderer Knives are one of them...
Hey Rob, have you checked out the newer Emerson - 0640? I picked it up on a whim, thinking it looked a bit too thin in profile because I usually prefer the larger knives like this one. I've been super surprised by it. It's almost instantly turned into one of my top most carried knives. Feels very refined and gentlemanly. The green carbon fiber is so-so, but I'm having some custom scales made for it. Really impressive blade. I'd be happy to send it your way for review if you'd like. Either way, definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't. Stay safe!
Awesome looking knife. Where did you get that deep carry clip?
I like this design, as you said, it brings them back to their roots, but I just can't get myself to cough up $300 for one. I think it's just to much for what it is, but that's just me. Others may feel it's worth every penny, and that's fine. To each their own. I just think for that much, there are other much better options out there.
Timbo437 I feel same way. I buy knives to use and for $300 I could buy a Para 2 and a 940.
Yep I agree fully, I've no intrest in this
Hi Rob watch your sales every week I'm in Indiana too southern tip can you do a review on the zt 0223 I bought it during sale and it's an awesome knife thanks fellow Christian brother 👍
Worth half the money to me.... Plus an Apostle P edge, of course.
FYI - the circular maker’s mark, by the serial #, is new for 2020...it’s the ZT/Kershaw in-house design team like you predicted.
hovan2yourjunk Thanks for confirming that. I suspected as much, but information about the origins of this knife and that maker’s mark is hard to dig up. I think that’s awesome! They did a great job on this one.
TheApostleP You’ll see it on all their designs moving forward. All the best!
I expect someone said it, but the circular symbol on the blade designates an in-house design.
👀👀 looks expensive.......''and that's what she said'' ....Reminds me of my, AD-10 in size that's carried every day in my pliers pocket, that Liberace had a llitl' influence in.
Why the hell would you want a hole behind the pivot? Doesn’t make sense
ZT may be trying to get back to their roots, but they can’t quite seem to let their recent tendencies go. The swedge and hole near the pivot are overdone and unnecessary. Get rid of them and you could be looking at a ZT from 7-8 years ago.
Tyler Gilley I completely agree with you.
Have had this knife for a month now and it does not replace the 0300 but comes dam close
It’s a shame it’s not assisted but is a respectably very smooth manual
The ergonomics are crap compared to the 0300
They should of teamed up with onion 🧅 again in my opinion
Blade steel is superb sharpens very well
Bring back the 0610st and 0400
John Lennon said it best "no religion too." I'm out of here.
I like the og clip better
Nice knife but I wouldn't buy one.
I find this knife hideous to look at with that hole and colour! I have not bought a at since my 909!
I don't care for any lock that uses springs like benchmades locks. It's a big no thank you from me
Nice but wouldn't buy
Christ....😒
Blessed be His Holy Name.
