#Nespresso #LifeHack #Howto #howtovideo #howtofix
This is by far the most clever video for reusable capsule hacks. I have watched a ton deep down the YT rabbit hole. I’m trying this when I get more capsules.
Please don’t
You will wreck your machine and invalidate your warranty
Hi. Thanks for the video. I followed the steps and tried on my Nespresso vertuo pop and Nespresso vertuo next. The coffee was not getting dispensed to the cup. Then, I found out that the coffee is going to the (Drip tray) underneath the (Used Capsules Bin). What could be the reason? Am I doing something wrong?
Hello!
Sorry, but I can't figure out when you made a mistake. Nespresso may be damaged 🤷🏻♂️
I show two ways to make a capsule. The barcode at the bottom of the capsule must be accessible and readable by Nespresso
@xVoLAnD The machine read the barcode but instead of dispensing the coffee to the cup, it dispensed the coffee to the Drip tray underneath the used capsules container. I don't know why. Do you have any clue?
why do you layer one in the other?
This is a quick way to stretch the foil. Sometimes it didn't work. So I used the second method just pulled the foil on top without a second cup
Do you think heavy-duty foil or regular foil works better?
3:03 was the best choice for me
Problem is the large pod bar pad reads large brew coffee your using a smaller pod and ending up with weaker brew
Yes, this is a problem, but the second method 4:09 solves this problem. Well tamp the coffee and everything will work out.
@@xVoLAnD I have found the glad press and seal hack works but I am not too sure the long term of plastic and hot water is good for the body lol, I recently ordered the aluminum foil kits on Amazon to pack your own pods and it works really well! Able to grind espresso beans and have it brew at the correct temp and speed etc.
Plastic capsules are safe and reusable. Yes, I know about this aluminum capsules. Thanks!
if you find a large brew pod you like, you can reset the fill level for that specific pod to be less volume so you keep it robust. If you need, the manual tells you how to do so. Also, you can push and hold for it to brew but if you do not release the button, you just hold the brew button down instead of releasing it, you can get the desired fill and then let it go. Do it once and from now on, that pod will put the amount you specified and not what it was coded at.
Can I ask what you put inside your capsule? I did this hack and put regular ground coffee in it and my coffee didn’t come out creamy at all. Actually tasted as though I brewed through a regular coffee pot
I buy medium ground coffee in Lidl. Due to the large selection of coffees, you can choose what you like. Experiment with flavors, be a barista
I put Spar instant coffee grauales in mine, 250 grams jar for 89 pence, and it came out excellent.
@@pqrstzxerty1296 Thank you!
Fine if you like weak coffee. But this will make a big coffee with only the content of the small pod.
If you read the manual it is possible to reprogram how much water is dispensed for any particular pod size. The manual is also available for download.
Thank you! Good point!
What did you put in the capsule in the middle layer?
This is Nestlé hot chocolate
Which nespresso pod is your favorite
BARISTA CREATIONS FLAVOURED VERTUO COFFEE PACK
@@xVoLAnD nice
I prefer organic coffee & nespresso only has one option , not the 750, so going to try TY
Thanks for your idea. These things are so expensive and hard to find in supermarkets. I think here only Target sells them, and there's not a lot of flavors to choose from either.
Estaba analizando si en vez de hacer eso puedes pegar la lámina de aluminio con slgu nprodxuto natural como clara de huevo o no algo más .
I am having trouble with my machine when I follow these methods, ( one capsule in another, and the foil method) I am following the procedure meticulously, and I get a " red light" alert and can not proceed with the brewing process. This does not happen every time I use this method, but when it does happen, I have to reset my machine in order to be able to continue brewing. Does this happen with you also? My machine is not defective since I have tried this with a new machine and have the SAME problem... HELP!
No, it works for me. I think your Nespresso is working. Try thicker foil to prevent the capsule from scrolling inside other.
Imagine trying 5o make coffee for 4 people u be there all day cutting lol
Imagine you have 3 capsules left and you need to make coffee for 5 people. Your guests will wait until an order comes with new capsules or you go to the store. Lol 😉👍🏻
@@xVoLAnD lol it's a rip of really cheaper to buy a coffee from mcds than pissing about with this lol
@@mazjap Your choice is clear, then why are you here?
Seems to work very well and brew a decent cup. So far so good fingers crossed as the stainless steel pod never worked in my machine.
I am happy because you understood me correctly, why I posted this video. Thank you!
hey was wondering what is the rule of thumb when filling with coffee,,should it be packed with some space left on the top? it shouldn't be filled all the way up right?
Yes of course. Now, it all depends on your taste and preferences. You can experiment with taste and mix
@@xVoLAnD do you experience needing to descale often? i had to descale twice in a month.
I have never done this yet. I use it for three months, but not every day
@@xVoLAnD okay thanks, i will try to do exactly what you do. Cheers!
I did this with mine recently and my machine completely stopped working. It turns on and it heats up and becomes solid green light which is ready to brew. Then I click it and blinks red then again turns green but doesn't run.
She cannot read the barcode. Make it clear
@@xVoLAnD I got it to work today so just an observation. You gotta be careful how much coffee you put in those capsules. I added less coffee in my capsule and started working just fine 🙂 either way great video! And thanks for replying right away!
@@gusb4309 You are welcome. Anyway, it doesn't depend on the amount of coffee. On back side of the capsule, the barcode and it's - the recipe. Therefore, the amount of coffee depends only on the strength and pressure in the capsule.
@@xVoLAnD would you say death wish coffee is an okay blend to use? I have a grinder and I make it even finer before using it.
I don’t know this coffee, I use medium ground coffee.
Nespresso coffees are very excellent and about a dollar a cup. It's worth it.
You buy the coffee, ruin your nose hair trimmer, take 10 minutes out of your life and then VOILA ! you have watery coffee with coffee grounds in it possibly clogging your machine...can't see this being a feasible option other than keeping oneself busy on a snowy day.
This is not true. Very good coffee. No need to imagine that something is clogging. If you are so well understand in coffee machines, why not write about the issues with that model? Many coffee machine of this model has defect.
The only way this doesn’t work is if you use regular coffee instead of espresso! Pretty common hack plus the pods have sensors to tell the machine temp, amount of water for that blend/size, your bank account routing number etc! But yes this does work!
Not educated at all hahaha
Why not just buy the original model and buy the adapter ?
What adapters are you talking about?
@@xVoLAnD
So many versions of these Nestle machines due to Nestle being upset of other coffee makers making pods for Nestle machines
Then Nestle lost the famous patent case in Belgium for pods.
Hence why the Vertuo design had to spin rather than use pressure, to make sure it have a valid invention registered patent.
For the orginal Nesspresso pod you can buy of Ebay and Amazon convertors to be used on the previous design the Nescsfe Docle, a 48mm (old machines) and a 63mm version (latest new machines).
So you can use the original Nesspresso pods on the previous model the Nescafe Dolce device.
So making a pod adapter for Vertuo will be difficult as it uses spin (7000rpm) rather than steam pressure to make the coffee. This is what Nestle wanted to make it very difficult for competitors to vary the patent for the Vertuo.
to save 50p?
Yes, sure. How many cups of coffee do you drink per day?
@@xVoLAnD I definitely appreciate the idea, I am just considering the effort to make the time it takes against saving just 50p
@@goodlistener414 Ha-ha... Imagine how much money I helped save coffee machine owners? 😉
@@xVoLAnD Hahaha you spoiled the company business/plan too
@@goodlistener414 You are right and not. The internal arrangement of this machine is not so complicated as to cost so much. However, people will buy the capsules, and rightly so, because they are wonderful. My method is just for experimentation to get new flavors.
I don't have money, but I like to make experiments.
someone try with milk powder or chocolate powder?
will the barcode on the bottom pod give the wrong amount of water for the pod that you have put inside it clearly the pod inside is smaller than the outside pod
Capsules of the same size, the edge of the inner capsule is reduced
@@xVoLAnD thank you for the I haven't got the best eyes in the world
@@stillo1578 You are welcome!
If you read the manual it is possible to reprogram how much water is dispensed for any particular pod size.
Cool idea but my time is worth more than the cost of new pods 😊
Yes, of course, everyone has the right to use this method or not. But if you want to experiment with taste, then you have no choice
That is a good point and if time permits I may give it a go. I already save the used grounds for my composting so have empty and clean pods around. I am a DIY lover. Thanks again for your video. Have a happy and safe 2021 😊
Thanks to you, too! Have a good New Year!
Genius 👌
It will work but after some time you will make a mess of your machine, it will then stop working or will leak water out of the bottom. Using even thick foil still is not as strong or as secure as authentic Vertuo pods. You will just end up with a faulty machine and an invalidated warranty!
Sorry, but this is not true and water flows out due to a design defect.
@@xVoLAnD what rubbish - because the foil isn’t strong enough you will get instances where coffee grounds will leak into the brew chamber and cause blockages. This will then cause water to leak out of the bottom. The defect is caused by refilling capsules as you have shown in this video!
@@ScottH432 Ok, you have your own opinion, I have 2 years of experience and don’t have the problems as you describe.
@@xVoLAnD how many machines have you sent back due to faults or leaks?
@@ScottH432 This one that you see in the video came in exchange for a defective one. The company acknowledged the defect. Since then I have had no problems and I like this coffee machine.
I use edible glue to stick foil onto the capsule.🤓
I buy Nespresso because of the excellent coffee and convenience. Way too much bother and cheap.
Yes, you are entitled to your opinion. What’s the problem, buy expensive coffee. Nespresso can't please all tastes, right?! I showed the way to new discoveries of taste!
Music is not compulsory.
You can support the channel financially and I can buy music for video
@@xVoLAnD 👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Vitali. Loved your video. Will try this tonight. Tried a different hack today morning and that also worked but yours seems more straightforward. Do you think this pod hack could work if I were to make the hot cocoa version? Cocoa powder, Milk Powder, Icing Sugar?
Thank you. I think - yes, but in the beginning it is better to warm up the water and then turn on the Nespresso. My opinion is that a Nespresso machine does not heat water well. I hope you succeed!
I think the water should be 50 degrees, do not to melt the water container!
@@xVoLAnD I might have to use the other hack again to make the hot cocoa. I think I'll use the double espresso pod, then top up my mug with a little hot water and hot, frothed milk. But my coffee pods will be with your hack
Hell I'm not about to mess up my machine.. I'll pass with this hack plus I don't think they are expensive at all plus they taste really good...
Kinda like rolling your own.
🤣👍🏻
Too much work.
Yes of course, you can buy capsules and save time if your time pays well. But not mine 😭
Thank you for this! I will try this! Love this machine only downside is the pods, can't buy them in the shops in the UK yet, hopefully, that will change soon.
You are welcome!
I order mine from Nesspresso onlin in the uk arrive next day
Thanks for sharing! Great tips. Is it still working well for you now? I’m looking into getting this machine but we are a family of 8 & 4 of us like coffee:) I’d still brew coffee in coffee pot for a group of us but would like something more delicate & “frothy” for an afternoon pick up or when friends come over. If I could put my own favorite local coffee in sometime this would be a plus. Do you still like nespresso or do you have another machine you like better? Thanks!
Ohhhh some of the comments in your thread was cracking me up😂. People that didn’t like idea & would rather mc Donald’s.. like why were they even watching? Haha.
Hiya! Thank you for your comment! The coffee machine is good, but some of them are defective. Before getting fully working, one had to be returned to the manufacturer. The problem was a leak.
To be honest, the capsules are good too. I drink a lot of coffee, so I was looking for a way to make it cheaper, and as a result, I got experience with experimenting with coffee.
I can recommend this coffee machine, but take a look at the cost of the capsules. So that you won't be shocked. 👍🏻
why?
Just for fun
Lol...just buy a kureg much cheaper....honestly nespresso cofee are extremely good quality its not just the looks.....honestly this is such a waste of time.....nespresso will be like a cofee in a batista...what's the poit filling the pod with other brand????
Exactly, if you can’t afford to buy Nespresso pods then don’t buy a Nespresso machine. All this video is doing is showing people how to make inferior coffee and also how to break their machine
If you can afford the machine you should be able to afford the coffee or the manuf inserts instead of going through all this crap!
So, then why did you watch this video?
Cok zahmetli değmez daha basit yolu vardır mtlaka
Jesus that alot of effort for a £0.65p pod 🤣
Yes, and you're here and watching this video! 🤣
Excellent video thank you- sorry to see so many stupid comments here
Thanks! It makes me happy to hear that I make useful videos!
All seems a bit of complicated
To much work
Way too much work. Nice though. Thanks for the vid.
Music is horrible!🥺
As is
that 45 second intro was too much
This is an short version. Full version is 3.5 hours 😉
LMAO! way too much work, just buy a reusable pod.... lol!
I have purchased two reusable pods from repod extremely expensive when shipping is included to the United Kingdom and 80 mL pod under 230 mL pod with one tamper comes to 118 USD 35 USD for shipping the same price as the higher capacity pod
🤦😂😂😂
This is just dumb…
as like your comment
Go download tiktok. Then your opinion on this well informed video will change.
If you can't afford a dollar cup of coffee, what can you..... Oh well, never mind. Some of us have real professions. Sorry I wasted minutes looking at this.
I want to be able to experiment with taste... Oh, well, never mind. Some of you have a real profession, not like me of course. Sorry, I wasted times everything that has changed the world of taste doesn’t matter of course. And yes, it's stupid to think that I have enough income to publish videos about it. Sorry for that. Good luck!
