The snowball spawning may be affected by the "weed repellent" that you put down. I've found that if I roll the snowball over a custom path, it won't get larger, but will actually get smaller.

I always have two snowballs that spawn in a clearing in the middle of my island, very close to each other. Pretty sure there's always supposed to be two near each other every day, and if you ruin one it'll respawn after going into a building

Omgggg why am I tearing up at the game of the year part. It’s so true. This game is so special because of the time that it came at. Right before stores closed we shut down I got AC one of my first Nintendo games and it literally felt like a mini vacation in my work week. It’s so adorable and comforting and it brought new communities together like UA-cam and Twitter and even brought some of my old friends back irl 😭🥰 I know it’s” just a game” but it’s so special

The best part about winter is the snow crunch sound. That was one of my favorite sound effects from the original games and to be able to hear it again is so dope.
For the snow boys, use camera mode and make the bottom snowball up to your nose, and the top one up to your chin. Turn off the camera before you try to put them together. Works every time for me! You always get a recipe the first one you make, but after that they need to be perfect to get a recipe

I think my favourite part about the snow is how much it has re-motivated me to decorate, buy up all the lovely winter fashion and items, collect and craft the new DIYs. The brown of the end of fall season was starting to put me off of playing. My region is going back into a 2nd complete 28 day lock down, after almost 8 months of "normalcy", so ACNH was there for me the first time, and here it is again to save the day.
It's so nice to wake up to a Ryan stream. Got my coffee and chilling too.
This is my first time experiencing snow in animal crossing and I am so excited! The music is just so beautiful and the snow looks so pretty. Love your videos and streams so much xx

I'm really excited about the snow on the ground. It doesn't snow much where I live and I don't enjoy it when it does now because I could have to drive in it. This allows me to enjoy it fully again for the first time in a long time, even though it's not real.
I LOVE the snow. It's so pretty. The crunch is amazing. Idk, the 5am music hits different with the snow.
Also!! At 5:30am today I had no snowballs spawned, but when I went back in for a little at 10am, I had two snowballs near each other. My island is packed and they ended up spawning in my Pokémon stadium. Welp.
My favorite part of winter time in game is... Honestly, everything. I've been decorating for Christmas for a while now, and it all looks so much better with snow. I cleared an area for snowboys a few days ago, I wanted to get rid of my music area anyway so decided not to build anything on that area to replace it.
I time traveled but not to the winter. I got my two snowballs. Being someone who really doesn't like snow is nice to see but can't wait for spring to come. Just love my villagers they are way too adorable. Kinda want to make my island into a penguine one for the season.
Winter in Animal Crossing has always been my absolute favorite season to play! The snow everywhere and the snowfall is so cute.
This makes me really want to play acnh again. The music, relaxing tempo, visuals and cuteness, I think it'd do really well for my current mental health, and maybe for a lot of other people too
i love seeing my island in snow! i love the winter clothes and giving villagers new coats and sweaters! Lyman and his other Koala cohorts (Gonzo, Melba and Ozzie) are certainly walking around in style. Love decorating for the holidays also, so much to do!!
I am on a SH island and started in winter. It was a magical experience for me because I have never seen snow. I loved the crunch as well. I have never time travelled, I enjoy the little things as they happen in real time.

I had the same problem with the snowballs not spawning bc I have so much stuff/design paths on my island too! for me, there’s only one small area where both snowballs will spawn next to each other, but that means that the snowboys get in the way when I’m trying to build another one the next day (since they take 3 days to melt) so.... l just have a cult of snowboys in one corner of my island LMAO

If you remove the path at the ground where the first snowball is, I,m pretty sure the second one is spawning there too.
I live in Germany, near Berlin. The Last time whe had so much snow to build a Snowman was when I was about 10 to 12 years old(around 2010). Later on it melted so fast that it wasn't fun at all. Now I'm 22 and so happy to experience Winterseason again (of course in AC) 😂

I was trying to keep my non time traveling streak but on the 9th day when kidd wanted to move out I had to time travel.
I agree that ACNH should have won game of the year. It sold a huge amount of games AND consoles for Nintendo, and for all the reasons you mentioned, it really was special in 2020. It was a total lifesaver, and brought so much joy to everyone through the pandemic.
I'm new to Animal Crossing, but bought a console just to play the game, and i'm absolutely loving it!

You’ll need a minimum of 5x6 grass area for the snowballs to spawn. You can also make a smaller version of a perfect snowboy - body is the height to the armpit and head is the height to your wrist (top of the ball shaped hands lol)
Also, if you want to flatten your island, try doing it in chunks. That way it isn't so overwhelming and you have most of it decorated for the season

Ok, I broke a third snowball. It actually, strange as it seems, spawned on the beach. I broke it trying to get it over the hump 😌

Snowball can't spawn on design/path, make sure u have land for plain snow only

You may need to remove some of your pathing in order to get your snowballs to spawn. I picked up a bunch of furniture and removed pathing in order to get my snowballs to spawn in a workable area. My guess is the second one was indeed there, just hidden behind something so you didn't see it. Or you simply didn't have enough empty ground. I've done two snowboys so far and the snowballs all spawned in the exact same area.

I think you need more space for two snowballs to spawn. I had two show up in a wide clearing. Also, good luck on the subathon! I’ll be watching!
Animal Crossing New Horizons very LITERALLY made this year better and bearable for a huge portion of the gaming community and, even a bit crazier, for a large portion of the non-gaming community! By that, I mean that it created gamers out of those who never played a more traditional game like this before; it created huge, positive communities on every social platform, where even those who didn't play/watch ACNH still benefited; it pulled families and friends together, no matter how physically close or distant, even when they were suffering through the unimaginable stress, lockdowns, job loss, hospitalizations, and deaths of loved ones from a pandemic not seen on this scale in most of our lifetimes!
ACNH provided our bodies and brains alternate ways to obtain what we used to find in our often way too busy lives outside our homes while helping provide us new and necessary coping mechanisms with both repetitive and new tasks and goals. Even though many of us took the grind to a bit of an extreme level, causing burnout quite quickly, the ACNH team stepped up to proactively take care of glitches (and those exploiting them) while also regularly providing additional content, with the promise of more to come for two more years... for free! ACNH may not have been mind-blowing in regards to its engine or graphics or, heaven help us, its load times, but it has definitely had a huge part in saving this year for so, so many of us!
I'm not going to knock The Last of Us 2, because it was amazing in many ways, but I actually feel like it was the game we DIDN'T need this year! Everyone I watched play it either didn't finish streaming it or ended up more and more depressed, deeply disturbed depressed, as they played it...and absolutely by the end of it; I don't know of anyone who wants to replay it. I fully understand that TLOU2 had no control of world health, etc., and pushing back the launch wouldn't have helped any, and lots of gamers had tons of pent-up frustration and aggression they were happy to relieve while playing this game, but the cathartic nature of that was fleeting, at best, as the story grew darker and send to have a few too many real-life similarities and a sense of foreboding that didn't always go away when closing the game.
"Game of the Year" should reflect the reality of gaming during the year and what made the most impact, is the most memorable, the most purchased and played, etc. For all of these and the above hopefully very logical reasons, I do believe the award should have gone to Animal Crossing New Horizons.

what do you use to record your gameplay ?
It kind of makes me tear up whenever I hear people call AC special, because people really have no idea. I know it's "boring" to some people, but AC since the days of the Game Cube has been something that got me through a lot of stress when I was a kid.
On my first birthday after my Nana passed away, my mom got me a copy of AC: City Folk. One of my first villagers & the first one I met was Nana. It made an awful birthday a little brighter for me and I guess some people wouldn't get it. But I think the people who can find the simplistic joy in AC, probably understand.
I was able to make a snow boy on the first try. I was so excited. But I didn’t know that I couldn’t move it after, so now there is a cute snow boy in the back of the island where nothing is going on. SMH. Fail.
