The Halloween items that we got only on Halloween event frustrated me too, cause I was like “What am I supposed to do with these now that Halloween is over?” And it’s gonna be the same with Christmas, I guess.

The best piece of advice I can give, as someone who demolished their entire island and is currently rebuilding the entire thing from the ground up, is to take your time. A fresh pair of eyes helps. I've been working on my campsite for three days, constantly improving bits and pieces here and there. Don't feel pressured to rush!
Yeah. Hardly anything i make looks good to me. And in order to fix it. It's going to take alot of bells and shovels. And battery charge... Hopefully the ice themed items help me with decorating. I mostly want the ice arch and collums. (Probably spelt the last part wrong)
Honestly im pretty sad that christmas diy's won start spawning until the 15 th of december and only being availible in baloons. I hoped it was gonna be like halloween where the diys where easy to collect with loads of time to get them and get your island spooky. Im a hard traditional player but i was not gonna start decorating for christmas on the 15th. So i ended up spending 3 days in december just collecting as many diys as i possibly could for christmas. Im not a fan of timetraveling and i hope there wont be another event like this where you get the diys so late
I TT but usually just for buildings because I design a lot but I know what you mean. I did the same thing. Like we should have turkey day DIYs before the event or at least be sold in the store until we can get the DIYs so that we can actually have decorations before the holiday. It doesn't make sense.

Having spent two Christmases in Japan, I can tell you that Christmas decorations are not put up weeks and weeks and weeks in advanced like they are here. They also come down the day after.

I think moving your house was the right choice. You could swap the nearest villager house with lymans house too so you can still be a little bit closer to him :)

I don't time travel but I got a bunch of time travelling friends so I still can reap the benefits while remaining a traditional player. I recommend it. 😄
Not sure if you knew, but if you fast forward time you can see what your island looks like with snow! Just don't let it go past the main screen to Isabelle's announcements and you can see a sneak peak of your island during winter :)

I’m with you. I feel like the items should come out no less than one month before Christmas so you can really deck out your island if you want. I don’t care if people time travel. I saw a video yesterday where a guy was instructing people to report dream addresses who appear to have time traveled or have hacked items. I told him “snitches get stitches and I don’t mean the bear!”

I'm keeping most mushrooms up... especially the red caps. I actually had a red cap costume for christmas/new years, when I was 6 y.o., so to me, they feel very christmassy (yes, we dressed up for that. I grew up in a former sowjet union country lol, so we had no Halloween or carnival)
tbh I’m kind of okay not decorating for Christmas in ACNH yet because I’m jewish so like yeah, holiday cool, but it isn’t representative of what I celebrate so I’m probably gonna end up doing a lot of custom designs and utilizing pre-existing items to decorate for Chanukah.

I'm pretty late but- my guess as to the timing of christmas items is that since it's a Japanese game, the devs just didn't think it would be an issue. Most of the western holidays aren't really celebrated in Japan so that's why I'd assume they feel a little awkward sometimes. Like, although Japan does celebrate christmas, there's really no such thing as "christmas spirit". its a very commercialized almost valentines-like holiday. They don't even get the days off work and christmas decorations are pretty much only up the week of, and then they're gone the next day.
I can't wait for the Christmas holiday. I did get spoiled and saw the toy day items so I'm ready for it. Also I visited a mystery island yesterday and, the very first one had snow falling. None of the others I visited did but it made me so excited

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I was HYPED to decorate my island for it.. but we didn't get any of the spooky decorations until like 5 or 6PM ON Halloween?? No one decorates the day of the celebration.. usually people have their homes decorated for the entire month leading up to the big event. Just time travel to the middle of Dec, and start collecting all the DIY's. Isabelle gives you some too. Think I started on the 11th. Just make sure to close out of acnh, go and change your time and date, and go back into the game. When you want to return to the present date, just click "on" to synchronise your clock to the present date and you can return safely to the present day. It won't mess anything up! Have fun!
Do you have any variants of wintery/Christmas versions of the path? The only one I've seen is the one made by the original creator and it's just a lighter color.

You just need to mke a new design square transparent take you a minute
Where can one find the hweed repellant?
Just create a custom pattern that’s completely transparent. When you place it down, weeds, flowers, fossils etc won’t be able to spawn there.
