I got the 2023 GTS 300 grey (you forgot that one) with already 13.000km on it. I sure as hell hope it's ready for a long roadtrip because next summer i'll travel 2500km by road from the Netherlands to Huelva, Spain and from there I will take the boat to the Canary Islands. I'll be there for 3-4 weeks and visit multiple islands with my GTS . Can't wait!
That trip sounds awesome. The Vespa will do it with ease. I would love to ride around Spain and the Canary Islands one day. I was in Spain a few months ago, absolutely loved it.
Good on you!!! So this time next year we'll see some new Vespa videos on your channel eh?
@@Scootphoria you never know
The Canary Islands on that Vespa should be amazing. Best of luck!
I envy you sir. I love riding my small scooter but lately, riding 2 wheels in California is becoming very dangerous because there are so many drivers driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol even during the day. I still have my scooter but haven’t ridden it for 3 years now. Enjoy your long distance scooter tour. Ride safe, sir.
I absolutely Love that Olive Green colour it’s reminiscent of the Lamborghini Sian. So modern and with the times , exemplifies its magnificent design and engineering. ❤
Loved it in the Sun, but agree it is a modern design
The olive green is a throwback to the first Vespas. I remember reading somewhere that after WW2 Piaggio stopped building bombers and started building scooters. Everything was hard to get hold of. They had surplus green camo paint so that's what they used.
Good to know, thanks for sharing
You can tour on anything really if you are keen enough. I rode my MZ 250 from Newcastle to Just over the Queensland boarder to a rally and back in a 3 day weekend
That is 100% correct. It’s all about the adventure
I have toured 1000s of kms two up on Vespas and a MZ250 in Australia- you can tour on anything…
I rode my 300 GTS from the UK via Cyprus to Azerbaijan.
In a month or two I am going to have to ride back.
Nice one, enjoy, should be fun.
Excuse me you did what? LOL
@@MrGeorgiev91 I didn't actually intend to go quite as far , but it sort of happened.
A lot of us older guys getting into scooters and cubs etc. Scooter in the Sticks is a good US vespa channel and our own Ride With Warro also. 👍🇦🇺
Agree both good channels. It’s interesting that the older we get, maximum speed and horsepower don’t seem as important as they used to.
I resemble that remark 😜
My daughter wants a Vespa when she gets her learners permit. They are such a fun looking bike. Good to see tech is making their way onto these bikes.
Fun looking and fun to ride. I’d be encouraging your daughter wholeheartedly Matt, because if she buys one, I’m sure she’ll let you take it for a blast
It makes as much power as most Royal Enfields so of course it is fine for simple taking it easy touring
And I think that is the point, you don’t always need the biggest most powerful bike to rack up some kms. Thanks for watching
You absolutely can tour on a GTS, I have 2016 GTS300 and in 2023 toured to Vespa World Event in Switzerland from the UK. We did 5 countries in ten days it ran perfectly and was very comfy. Also did the Lands End John O’Groats trip including the North Coast 500 with camping gear a total of 2500 miles, again it was perfect. I have a rack on the back and on the front so carry stuff is real easy. I’ve had 34 bikes from small to big but have now swapped over to the Vespa which is fun, cool and comes with an excellent social life / club scene. Try one, it may well surprise you!
Who needs a big touring bike when you can tour on a GTS? It's like the little scooter that could! Don't underestimate the power of that Vespa charm.
Excellent clip, looked like a whole bunch of fun fun fun. Well done Ross and Ms T ........yeah Red would would be cool
Heaps of fun Phil. Yep, a red one would be the go.
I've went from multiple Gold Wings since they were introduced, to cruisers, sport bikes, and scooters. I bounced between them each year. 2 years ago, I purchased the GTS300 HPE 2022 model. It was awesome. Then I tried the Primavera. I ride the freeways and take trips to other states on them. So after purchasing the 2022 Primavera, I went & bought an extra one 2023 last week.
Yes, the rack on the rear makes it easier. But a Vespa can have a rack on the front. A rack in the center. A pouch on the glove box.
The best thing for me is the ease of maintaining and basic repairs while traveling. And you are right about high speed eating the fuel.
Not getting in a hurry got me 87 mpg (US) on the GTS and 99 mpg on the Primavera. Cruising with the big dogs on the freeway reduced it as well as not being an enjoyable ride. I dislike freeways anyhoo.
Glad it wasn’t just me seeing a drop in fuel economy on the motorway. Thanks for watching, sounds like you are getting quite a collection of Vespa’s. I really need to have a go on the lower capacity models, shall speak to Vespa and see how we go.
Great Video 👍
Cheers, glad you liked it
Enjoyed your video and Vespa review! Love mine! How could you forget the Orange Vespa! The best color!😂 Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video
Great vid. I like getting an Aussie perspective on bikes. Subbed and a like too :)
Thanks for the sub! Glad you like the content
Looks great to me. Red would be faster of course.
Of course
Bringing the Vespa to Tassie? Might need to hook up a Jerry Can 🤣😂✌🏻
Lol, actually just talking to a couple of manufacturers now, hoping to have something equally inappropriate for the Tassie tour.😂😂😂
I'd love tor try a vesper. Not sure they make them for normal sized people like me.
😂😂😂, it would be an interesting look Chewie
Nice review 👍. My Gilera Runner is getting a bit long in the tooth and one of these is a definite possibility for a replacement. By the way, what are those boots that Tegan's wearing? I couldn't see any footwear on your website.
Thanks, glad you liked the review. We are going to list some new foot ware on the website soon, but not those boots as they aren’t actually motorcycle boots unfortunately. Not sure what brand they are.
@@BikerTorque Thanks for taking the time to reply. Keep up the good work! 👍
Went from the Yamaha Xmax 300 to this fun-sized GTS 300 HPE 2023.. no regrets!
Nice one, what are the main differences that you’ve found?
Really and i want to buy the xmax300 why did u change and what is the difference?
@@josejpl69 basically singapore has a Certificate of Entitlement tagged to the bike which costs $10k as of now, making your bike “valid” for 10 years.
Rode the xmax for a good 5 years but did not want to use up the coe fully, which still has value for another 5 years.. thus i used the “opportunity” to switch to the vespa.
I’d probably be riding the xmax if not because of the dying coe. Its really a good bike. Easy to maintain! Mad good fuel efficiency and has an awesome sporty looks to it for a scooter. Definitely recommended!
Very fun. I love and prefer the analogue speedo too. Much nicer. Cool to see it’ll handle freeway speeds, albeit at the cost of a drop in fuel efficiency. Only downside I truly see if that retail price. Oooooft! I know it’s Italian premium. But I was a bit shocked at that.
Yeah price is up there, but hey, it’s a Vespa.
@@BikerTorque true. Nothing really comes close.
Would be interesting to get your thoughts on the Fonz Arthur 6.
Shall see if we can get one
I’m buying one
That’s cool. When do you get it? Seriously fun bikes, I’d love to own a Vespa one day
Hey I'm not sure if you've bought it yet but the Piaggio Beverly 400 is a much better option
@@googleprofile6660 we will have to speak to the distributors here in Australia to see if we can get one to test out.
@@BikerTorque Good luck
Not gold colour, it's olive
But it looks gold in the sun don't you think?
It looks gold/mustard in person lol
Nicest colour on the lineup. So modern and with the times. Same colour as the Lamborghini Sian. If I could afford one , it would be my colour of choice. 👍🏼
When I do long trips I use my victory boardwalk and my saddle bags. I never would use my vespa, its so uncomfortable, and the scooter is to lite for high winds.
It makes for a great story though.
@@BikerTorque So true. But I don't want to end up inside of a canyon when high winds hit
Possibly scooter of the air definitely not motorcycle of the year.
Great bike though
