I never had a problem with the hood bending on my 1980 model. I just put a little oil on the hinges once in awhile. And shake the Hood from side to side as you pull the hood down. It will come right down.

I've heard that 73 -81 hoods had the bending problem, but from 82 - 87 they didn't have that issue, have you heard that too?
Yes I have! They changed the design of the hood hinges which helped tremendously! Thanks buddy for your comment my friend!
