Stoke supporter here of more than 45 years…I was on my way to the airport with my wife and daughter when I found out…my ‘phone was going crazy with messages and no one could believe it. Having had time to soak it in I’m not surprised about anything at Stoke City FC at the moment…we really are a Club in turmoil…its gonna be another long hard season trying to avoid the drop I reckon…keep up the good work Sam 👍
My wife mentioned it earlier Sam, and she's no football fan. That's how much of a shock it was! I didn't believe her given the abruptness of it, but I've got to say I was really unimpressed with the result at Oxford and the attitude of the players as a group on the day, with that afterthought it could be the right thing to do. As a progressive club we've hung in hope far too long with other manager's in the past who under-delivered. Let's make no bones about it we've not had any positive constistency as such under Schumacher's reign so far. Let's hope Stoke get someone in who pushes us in the right direction whilst playing good, attractive football. No hard feelings. I wish Schumacher all the best for his future in football. Up the POTTERS!
Very well put, we’ve got to find some form under new management seems as though it’s going to be Narcis Pelach hopefully we can welcome him warmly. And he can give us our desperately needed consistency weve been lacking. Let’s not loose hope for the lads, hopefully the change can spark some belief. Cmon u potters🔴⚪️
You're right Sam when you say there's not a lot out there. There's even less good managerial candidates out there who'll want to pass up their current employment to come to Stoke now that we've got a reputation as a firing club.
I think everyone was shocked initially, however, let's not forget that Walters was bought in to apply sticking plaster to Schumakers less than salubrious start. We picked up a bit then but this season has deja-vu written all over it. Win first game, smash Rotherham (Boro this season) in the Carabao Cup. But we lost to Watford 3-0. WBA at home then the listless display at Oxford. We have some great hungry young players. We need someone who focuses on them not the opposition. We set up the same way, week in, week out, playing players in their strongest positions. And we go out to win every game. No 'tactical' draws. No running down the clock on 75 minutes. Sitting back deeply defending a 1-0 lead. Enough of all that negative, unambitious, uninspiring dross. Get someone in to make players believe in themselves. Believe they're the best. Believe they can beat anyone. Get that mentality drilled in 24/7 and we WILL succeed. 100% guaranteed. Schumaker could never do that. It just isn't in his genes. Be positive UTMP !!!
I’m sure there will be a lot of amused Argyle fans tonight. He left for the big money, less than a year later he’s fired. You need stability at your club and I hope you get it one day. I didn’t think he was doing that badly. Best of luck!
I was shocked this morning, but I have to say, he hasn't ripped up any trees. His tactics were naive, often leaving one man in midfield to do two people's job. Burger running about like his arse is on fire. Junior is not a wingback and looks a liability every time he plays, and Gooch as an attacking midfielder is mind boggling. We got lucky against Plymouth, yes the support backed him, but we are so desperate for success we will go loopy when we win a game regardless of who is in charge.
There's no way this was a results based decision. However, there's no way the truth will officially come out so rumours will abound. This reflects very badly on Walters in my view.
Thanks Sam for expressing mainly All our bewilderment after SS departure which is Not helped by our lack of a settled side. Let’s hope tomorrow evening doesn’t add to this very unclear, Uncomfortable position. We need a win and a sound appointment To provide lift in spirit and confidence But thanks Sam once again for your very constructive contribution.
I think most people liked SS but you’ve got to admit him team selection was all over the place at times and substitutions on Saturday for instance was bizarre we ended up with 5 strikers on🤔
Buy now sam we should know who our starting 11 are and there lies the problem. To much switching of players from game to game we expect injurys but this constant changing isnt helping our cause i think this is why ss has gone
Schuey ran the same squad rotation at Argyle, it worked really well, plenty of strength in depth in the squad, kept everyone hungry and involved. I think your players are a problem, Schuey mentioned their total lack of effort last season, and I think the players are probably a bunch of prima-donnas/donkeys. Either way, you've lost a great coach there.
These Sporting Directors are a problem, seemed issues with Ricky Martin, and now Walters. Sporting Directors SHOULD NOT get involved in the day to day training / team selection etc, NONE ... it's not their business or responsibility. Walters HAS TO get this right otherwise he won't last the season.
Stoke City are a basket case of a club behind the scenes. You’d be a plonker to leave any club and go to Stoke. Most Argyle fans knew he’d move on but laughed when he went to Stoke knowing how crazy Coates is running them into the ground.
Wrong decision by Walters. Is this Walters positioning himself for the job ? Coates Family & Walters have no right to think they're a Premier League club. 1 league Cup in the early 70s isn't a glorious honour roll. Now once again a new manager inherits someone else's players & the players won't be able to adapt to the new gaffers way. Also if Stoke have the youngest squad that means there's at least 23-25 players that still have a lot of football to learn & that's the basic. Stoke should go Ryan Lowe !!
Coates is what’s going on,he flew his helicopter to home park in December and whizzed our manager shewy away ,left us in limbo but grass ain’t always greener shewy .
You don't know much about Mowbray and his history. You may think he plays hoof it football just because of his age. He plays quality attacking football and is great with young teams. Beale would be an absolute disaster, don't go for him for gods sake.
Anyone taking the Stoke job will only be there for the money. Let's face it, Stoke is not really the place to go for any kind of long term employment... Without knowing who your next manager is going to be I predict he will be gone at the end of the season!
Some of his tactics and player selections were awful. And weve not really had the turn around we wanted since the back end of last season. Is this the shot in the arm we need? We will find out soon enough i guess. But no one expected this.
Omg when I saw this I couldn’t believe my dad and when I believed him I thought he left himself I didn’t no he was sacked and the new manager that we think we might have is reallly bad
Schumacher was clueless. You say we signed players to fit 433, what did Schumacher do at home v WBA changed formation for no reason and it was shit. The only convincing game was Boro. Coventry battered us second half and really should have got something. Watford, another second half battering. Plymouth was a toss of a coin, and Oxford is the worst performance I’ve seen for years.

Shocking decision pal
Thank you Steven. Gave us hope again. Jonny Walters let the head coach make mistakes with team selection and don’t get involved. These things happen

It’s shocking he was one of the good manager he kept us from the relegation zone last season
Or was it Walters and the crowd?
@@tonycooper4141all had its part

Stoke will regret this decision, Schuey is a cracking coach. I suspect your players are the problem.

Childish politics Walters is Walters 😂⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️😂
Tony Mowbray got the youngest team in the Championship into the play-offs at Sunderland.
I think most people liked SS but you’ve got to admit him team selection was all over the place at times and substitutions on Saturday for instance was bizarre we ended up with 5 strikers on🤔
Did all our dads message us at college?
It was definitely something behind the scenes

2:13 since relegation, that has been stoke. Win a few convincing games...lose 3 easy games etc etc.
My dad messaged me at college and I thought he was joking😭
Literally same, I was questioning if it was April 1st
He wasn’t alone 😂
My mum messaged me and my reaction was too 'you're joking' !!
"Unbelievable!?..."

The next SS team to play Stoke. I know where my money is going!
Okay Walters.
I guess you seem to know what you are doing but get it wrong and I expect you to fall on your sword!
Apply Sam!
I agree. Get your CV in.
Coates is what’s going on,he flew his helicopter to home park in December and whizzed our manager shewy away ,left us in limbo but grass ain’t always greener shewy .
Good video I wouldn’t disagree with any of it 👍

Sam allardyce next manager

Yeah, bit mad, but I think your information might be on the mark...or close. At least what they're saying in the pub. AussieMart.

You need to get a manager and believe in him because from the games I saw I thought the football was really good you just can’t finish the chances
i would like to see hoefkens there
Sam am right in thinking that he wasn't The Manager hes was engaged has The Head Coach
Ye thats correct mate
On the flip side had he had success with you, he would have left for the next highest bidder😂

Typical stoke
