As a composer, I always compose on the guitar first. If it sounds good on an acoustic it sounds good on an electric guitar. I learned that from Mark Knopfler, he mentioned it once in an interview. This is how he recorded some of his most famous songs. Sultans of Swing e.g. was recorded that way. He first wrote it for the acoustic guitar and then thought; "let's hear what it sounds like on an electric guitar", and a hit was born.
So you mean to tell me that the stuff I doodle around on my acoustic is actually black metal? I'm gonna have to invest into some Heavy distortion stuff...
This is very relaxing. It evokes to me the image of a castle in the middle of the evening...big open spaces, solitude, trees, shadows, and the melancholic brightness of the sun
First song I ever learned how to play actually learned it from your channel too, I have become a lot more proficient since then, your videos have taught me well
Varg already did it (in electric guitar but without distortion, so sounds "similar") look at his channel the riffs of his own songs ("tulean perspective" is his channel if you didn't know that)
Dude. I just discovered your channel. I've been searching for your kind of content for ages but I thought no one would've ever done it. And suddenly here I am, facing LOTS of amazing videos created with passion, knowledge and expertise. Fuck. Thanks, Simon. Thank you very much.
@@space_skeloton1862 Classical music is instrumental and progressive, rock music is repetitive and lyrical, I believe metal in itself blends both together
I'm learning how to play the guitar but I'm too impatient to learn it from the basic stuff, so I'm just learning my favorites songs hehe, this will be my first one, I'm practicing daily. 😊
There are a few bands that either have acoustic parts, play acoustic alongside electric, play _non-Black Metal_ acoustic songs, or completely acoustic Black Metal songs. Pagan Megalith, Drudkh, Agalloch, Ulver, Xasthur, Peste Noire, Primordial, Nargaroth (also Opeth, Embraced), and there's probably more (not to mention Folk Black Metal bands...).
That's so awesome... It was so soothing and relaxing I almost went to sleep.. 🖤🖤 don't know bout others but Black metal (of this type especially) so much channels my emotions into tears and relaxes me ..
I had heard of Nargaroth but never actually listened to them until three days ago. Three days ago, I saw this video for the first time and found out that I had kept myself away from an outstanding band. Could you please cover "Dawn of Epiphany"
my love of classical music and black metal clearly go hand in hand.

One is the other.
Beethoven is BM/DM/Punk/... .
The Godfather of Modern music.
I keep coming back to this.... Every month...
Black Metal Fan from India 🤘🤘🔥🔥
same, it's so soothing & sounds so good
Damn indians listening to nargaroth
And Burzum, Mayhem
Can relate...

I do the exact same thing. For the exact same reason! Marks a hero!
Bends do no justice on acoustic as far as i'm aware
@@thebigbadbone7238 Bending on acoustic is just Ouch for your fingers, and the strings are stiff so its harder.
el gran mark Knopfler, para mí es una leyenda del rock

yesss
no
yesss
Its just angry folk classical music
I don't like black metal, but when someone does a acoustic version, I just fall in love by it.
Black metal piano covers are also very good
classical music is just metal before electronics :D
a mí no me gustaba porque no había escuchado mucho, y no había escuchado nargaroth, para mí es el mejor genero del metal fuerte
This is very relaxing. It evokes to me the image of a castle in the middle of the evening...big open spaces, solitude, trees, shadows, and the melancholic brightness of the sun
For me,it's a depressive song
And when it's 1:40 you go into the woods for the first time and get chased by some beast

I'm a bassist, probably buying my first electric guitar today, this will be one of the first songs i'll learn.
I love this version. I listen it every day and try to learn it too.
I don´t usually like black metal but this melody is so beautiful on acoustic guitar!
Arthur Florez I don’t listen to black metal at all and I liked this song
Why don't you like black metal?
same with me untill I ran into Nargaroth, they seem to do actually musical black
I will never stop saying it: If a song sounds good in an acoustic instrument, it's a REALLY GOOD SONG!!!
that's the dumbest thing I've read today, congratulations.
now you could fuck off with your opinion, congratulations.
But it depends on arrangement. Good musicians can make every song as masterpiece
Look at Coma or pantera riffs. They are do amazing and have a big energy, but what would hqppend without distortion
bullshit.
My favourite so far. Definitely would like to a see Burzum one tho.
Varg already did it (in electric guitar but without distortion, so sounds "similar") look at his channel the riffs of his own songs ("tulean perspective" is his channel if you didn't know that)
Yea I have seen that but he only shows the riffs, he don't do a full playthrough.

This is magical
Nargaroth es y seguirá siendo una de mis bandas favoritas 🇲🇽
This is an amazing cover, man. I have been using this cover for a while, to learn it myself. Thank you!
So, acustic black metal is spanish music, does that mean spanish music played on a distorted electric guitar is black metal?
Only one way to find out!
Please somebody try it

Thanks for keeping me sane for past couple of years.
My pleasure buddy!
Thanks to Simon I started playing black metal on acoustics. Even my mother liked it))) Thanks...
I'm surprised how well BM still works on acoustic.
Sounds good to me. :)
Personally I think bm is just classical music compressed and distorted
@@space_skeloton1862 yes, not compressed tho
@@space_skeloton1862 Classical music is instrumental and progressive, rock music is repetitive and lyrical, I believe metal in itself blends both together
Burzum for example 😁
Coming back to this again and again.
Since discovering your Spleen cover, I've become obsessed with your acoustic work. It's so hauntingly beautiful
By far one of the best Nargaroth’s song !
I like black metal, and have been listening to it a lot lately. But that just shows how easy the electric guitar parts are in it, to play.
Man this never gets old. It gets younger to be exact
Best black metal teacher🤘🏻🖤
the drums version sounds like a chilling breeze in the rain. love it
Never clicked on a video so fast, maan, its NARGAROTH !!!!!!! i lost count on how many times i played this on my guitar
Im blessed to have an ear for Black Metal and love the fact that so many people hate it or dont even know it exists. More for me!
Hi. Asking metal bands for an accoustic festival is the next step ! Seriouly, genius idea ! I like so much. Thanks for this magic moment !
